Doom Patrol stars Brendan Fraser as the voice of Robotman (and his pre-transformation identity of Cliff Steele), Matt Bomer as the voice of Negative Man (and again, his human identity of Larry Trainor), Joivan Wade as Cyborg, April Bowlby as Elasti-Girl, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane and Timothy Dalton as the Chief. Y, the television adaption of the acclaimed post-apocalyptic science fiction comic book series Y: The Last Man, has been ordered to series at FX, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions. All of the men are dead. But one. Based on DC Comics' acclaimed series Y: The Last Man by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Y traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event has decimated every male save for one lone human. The new world order of women will explore gender, race, class and survival. Diane Lane stars in Y, leading an ensemble cast featuring Barry Keoghan, Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield with Marin Ireland and Amiber Tamblyn. "Y: The Last Man is a towering achievement among graphic novel storytelling and it's been rewarding to work with this outstanding team," said Grad. "Michael Green and Aïda Mashaka Croal have partnered with Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson to deliver a stunning new expression of this fascinating and timely story. Melina Matsoukas, who directed the pilot, did an incredible job bringing it to life with Diane Lane and this stellar cast." Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force (American Crime Story, Pose, Crazy Rich Asians) and Brian K. Vaughan are Executive Producers and developed the series. Melina Matsoukas (Insecure, Master of None, Beyoncé: Formation) is Director of the pilot episode and also serves as Executive Producer. Y is produced by FX Productions. Y: The Last Man is a 60-issue science fiction comic book series published beginning in 2002. It received three Eisner Awards, and received the first Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story for Y: The Last Man, Volume 10.

  11. I have not really read any Batman comics in some time but decided to pick up the big wedding issue this week just to see what happened. All I will say is I will likely not be reading any more Batman comics anytime soon if this is the best they can do.

The CW Network has given early renewals to ten of its primetime series for the 2019-2020 season, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW, during the network's session at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena. "This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday -- which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers. In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season, and this is just the beginning," said Pedowitz. "These shows provide a strong foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront." The series being ordered for the 2019-2020 broadcast year include second seasons of The CW's freshman hits CHARMED and LEGACIES, as well as new seasons of ARROW (Season 8 ), BLACK LIGHTNING (Season 3), DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (Season 5), DYNASTY (Season 3), THE FLASH (Season 6), RIVERDALE (Season 4), SUPERGIRL (Season 5), and SUPERNATURAL (Season 15). Specific premiere dates for each series will be announced at a later time.

  14. Emmett J. Scanlan got all dolled up and released a new image of himself as Lobo for the second season of SYFY’s Superman prequel series, Krypton. Lobo, the ruthless bounty hunter who murdered his entire species has a genius-level intellect when it comes to matters of warfare and is a deadly adversary. He has superhuman strength and is virtually immortal. Lobo's word is the only thing he hold sacred and although he'll never violate the letter of an agreement, he might disregard its spirit from time to time.

The 150th episode of “Arrow” showcases a documentary entitled “The Hood and the rise of vigilantism” starring Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), and the rest of Team Arrow. As a camera crew follows Oliver and team around to talk about their past as vigilantes and what the Green Arrow means to Star City, Oliver must also deal with William’s (guest star Jack Moore) return from boarding school as well as a new threat to the city. The episode will feature “documentary footage” captured by the BTS crew and interviews from those who have worked alongside the Green Arrow. The documentary is narrated by Kelsey Grammer. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Emilio Ortega Aldrich (#712). Original Airdate: 2/4/2019
  17. The CW has cast Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson and Nicole Kang as lead roles opposite Ruby Rose in Batwoman, the CW's DC drama pilot from Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Written by Caroline Dries with David Nutter directing. Both are executive producers alongside Berlanti Prods.’ Berlanti and Sarah Schechter as well as former DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns via his new Mad Ghost Productions banner. Batwoman is the first gay lead character that centers on Kate Kane (Rose) who soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope. Tandy will play Sophie Moore. After graduating from military academy, Sophie rose through the ranks to become a high-level private security agent and one of Gotham’s staunchest protectors. Despite her bite and regimented outlook, Sophie has a soft side, illuminated by Kate Kane’s return. Johnson will portray Luke Fox. A Dark Knight loyalist and son of Wayne’s R&D director Lucius Fox, Luke works to keep Wayne Tower secure in his boss’s absence. While Luke considers himself the guardian of all things Batman — specifically his symbol — he also recognizes the city’s need for a new hero. Kang is Mary Hamilton. Excitable, talkative, and an influencer-in-the-making, Mary is Kate Kane’s step-sister and polar opposite. But what Mary lacks in a filter, she makes up for with her compassion for Gotham’s underserved communities, proving she has more in common with Kate than she thinks. Source: Deadline

  19. The CW and DC Comics have revealed the first look of Jon Cryer as DC villain Lex Luthor. As we previously reported that Cryer will debut in Supergirl’s 15th episode this season, entitled “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” on Sunday, March 17th. In it, Lex Luthor reaches out from prison to enlist Lena (Katie McGrath) into one of his plans and will stop at nothing to get her on board, even if that means leveraging the life of one of her friends.
