  1. The live-action version of Cowboy Bebop drops November 19th on Netflix and starting October 21st, the streaming service will bring all 26 episodes to the original anime. Cowboy Bebop follows Spike Spiegel (voiced by Kôichi Yamadera), Faye Valentine (Megumi Hayashibara), and Jet Black (Unshô Ishizuka) are bounty hunters working from the spaceship Bebop as they travel around the solar system catching criminals. Hacker Edward, and a genetically engineered Corgi named Ein, join them later in the series. The animated version is directed by Shinichirō Watanabe, with screenwriter Keiko Nobumoto, character designer Toshihiro Kawamoto, mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane, and composer Yoko Kanno. The cast for the live-action series stars John Cho as Spike, Mustafa Shakir is Jet Black, and Daniella Pineda is Faye Valentine. The original voice actors for the animated series return to Cowboy Bebop to provide a Japanese language dub for the live-action series. The live-action series is directed by Alex Garcia Lopez and Micheal Katleman, with André Nemec serving as executive producer and showrunner.
  2. Meet Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) in Cowboy Bebop, premiering November 19th, only on Netflix. COWBOY BEBOP is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them. Based on the beloved anime series, COWBOY BEBOP is executive produced by André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Makoto Asanuma, Shin Sasaki and Masayuki Ozaki of Sunrise Inc., Tim Coddington, Tetsu Fujimura, Michael Katleman, Matthew Weinberg, and Christopher Yost. Nemec serves as showrunner. Original anime series director Shinichirō Watanabe is a consultant on the series, and original composer Yoko Kanno returns for the live-action adaptation. The series also stars Alex Hassell and Elena Satine.
  3. Geoff Stults, Tamara Tunie, Mason Alexander Park, Rachel House, Ann Truong and Hoa Xuande have joined the cast of Cowboy Bebop, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the cult Japanese animated series. Stults is Chalmers, the epitome of a Western lawman. He is also Jet Black’s former co-detective in the ISSP’s Homicide Division. He wears a chronic smile that makes you want to punch him square in the face… especially Jet. And that’s only partly because Chalmers is dating his ex-wife these days. Tunie plays Ana, the proprietor of the hottest underground bluesy jazz club on Mars. And while she acts as a surrogate mom to Spike, there is nothing warm and cuddly about her. Cool and intense, Ana is definitely not a woman to be trifled with. Park portrays Gren, Ana’s right-hand person. They run the front of the house for Ana’s jazz club. As capable with their wit as a glock, as confident in a dress as a suit, they are a Bowie-esque embodiment of 22nd century handsome and seductive beauty. House is Mao, the Capo of the Syndicate’s “White Tigers” family. Despite, or perhaps because of, her blue collar background, Mao is more cunning, adept, crafty and deadly than her counterparts. Truong and Xuande are Shin and Lin. Dressed to kill (because they do), Shin and Lin serve as Vicious’ twin Syndicate henchman. Despite being fearful of their volatile boss, they are fiercely loyal to Vicious in his quest (for reasons we have yet to understand) to take down Spike Spiegel. The six join previously announced cast members John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, Alex Hassell as Vicious and Elena Satine as Julia. Based on the worldwide phenomenon from Sunrise Inc., Cowboy Bebop is the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts, as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll even save the world…for the right price. The 10 episode live-action adaptation is being developed by Tomorrow Studios, Midnight Radio and Sunrise, the studio behind the original series. The showrunners and executive producers are Andre Nemec, Josh Appelbaum, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, and Shin Sasaki of Sunrise Inc; Tetsu Fujimura and Matthew Weinberg. Writer and executive producer Christopher Yost will write the first episode. Shinichiro Watanabe, director of the original anime, serves as consultant.
  4. We got our first glimpse of these back in February during Toy Fair. They are a new line of 5" articulated action figures called BST AXN that are being released by Loyal Subjects. At Toy Fair we were allowed to take pictures of their Cowboy Bebop and Fullmetal Alchemist figures, but they also had on hand their Naruto figures that we were not allowed to take images of. Since then however it seems Loyal Subjects has been hard at work expanding the line to include a number of additional figures from various properties. Thanks to the overseas etailer Games and Comics we have a look at quit a few of them. It should be noted many of the figures shown are possibly still early production samples of some kind. Shown below in our GALLERY are the following figures: -AC/DC Angus Young -Big Trouble In Little China Lightning -Cowboy Bebop Spike Spiegel -Cowboy Bebop Vicious -Fullmetal Alchemist Alphonse Elric -Fullmetal Alchemist Edward Elric -Guns N' Roses Slash -KISS The Demon -LOTR Gandalf -Napoleon Dynamite -Naruto Kakashi Hatake -Naruto Naruto Uzumaki It seems like a pretty random choice of characters being done. With ones like Gandalf from LOTR and Lightning from Big Trouble In Little China, it will be interesting to see if those are one and done figures or if they plan on flushing out those properties with more figures down the road. The figures do have accessories including weapons and multiple pairs of hands. It looks like the figures will cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 each. It's unclear if these will only be made available online or if any major retailers will be picking them up. As more details become available we will be sure to update you.
  5. Tamashii Nations has released a preview image for their upcoming S.H.Figuarts Cowboy Bebop Spike Spiegel figure which will be released in April 2019. Stay tuned for more details and images on this as they become available.
  6. Celebrate 20 years of Cowboy Bebop by joining the crew of the Bebop and hunting criminals with your crew mates. Edward and Ein make an adorable Pop! and buddy with Edward’s futuristic goggles and bright smile and Ein’s happy dog face. You might not expect to find a Pembroke Welsh Corgi on a spaceship but this data dog and overall good boy is a key member of the crew. A Pop! Vicious might not look as friendly, but what can you expect from a member of the Red Dragon Crime syndicate? Besides, it pays to keep your enemies close. Look for these to be released later this month.
