  1. Meanwhile at Arkham Asylum. Joker: C’mon Bats be a good sport and let me out so we can play! HAHAHA!!!!
  2. While Batman could be considered the ultimate loner, the reality is that he’s actually all about family. It’s made apparent in everything he does and everything he is. The death of his family made him who he is and in turn he fights to make sure no one else ever suffers the loss of loved ones like he did. He is forever building family around him, despite his protests to the contrary. QMx Creative Director Mohammad Haque has perfectly captured that paradox in this figure, titled simply “Family”. Exploring this little discussed, but key aspect of the Batman character: That of family man. The first in a new series of large format dioramas called “Q-Master” this diorama stands over 15 inches tall. It encompasses the entire history of Batman’s relationships in crime fighting, and includes all his various proteges. Each sidekick is represented in this piece, with their positioning and expressions reflecting their personalities and relationships with Batman. Jockeying for position over Batman’s right shoulder, Damian Wayne (Robin) and Jason Todd (Red Hood). Tim Drake (Red Robin) sits on Batman’s left shoulder and holds one of his cowl’s ears. Barbara Gordon (Batgirl) sits on Batman’s right arm and shares a playful look with him. Dick Grayson (Nightwing, formerly Robin) looks over Batman’s left shoulder. Q-Master is an evolution of the Q-Fig style, mixing both super-deformed and realistic elements. But don't be fooled - those sidekicks may look like Q-Figs, but they're actually 50% bigger! Additionally “Family” is cast in Everstone™, a proprietary high-temperature polyresin that allows for greater durability, precise detail and adds a solid weight that resists fading and fracture. This limited edition figure and will come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by its creator, Mohammad Hague and will ship in a specially designed collectors box. You can pre-order this from BigBadToyStore.com.

It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are now facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than it can be rebuilt. Reprising their starring roles from the first film are Chris Pratt as Emmet, Elizabeth Banks as Lucy (aka Wyldstyle), Will Arnett as LEGO Batman, Alison Brie as Unikitty, Nick Offerman as MetalBeard, and Charlie Day as Benny. 6. The fifth entry in Kotobukiya’s IKEMEN series is the long-awaited head of the Batman family, the Dark Knight himself! An original series by Kotobukiya, the IKEMEN series takes popular characters from American comics and recreates them in a unique Japanese style. From the four generations of Robin to Batman himself, these attractive statues show a novel take on the classic heroes based on art by Japanese DC Comics illustrator Ricken! The fifth entry in the series is Bruce Wayne as Batman. Naoya Mutou detailed sculpting does Ricken’s art full justice through the bold and eye-catching details of Batman’s strong and muscular form. You can practically feel the Dark Knight’s will and determination, as he stands stoically with his arms crossed, ready to give guidance to all four generations of Robin as they protect Gotham City. Like the previous IKEMEN statues before him, Batman comes with an interchangeable head part that allows you to display him in his masked hero form. You can pre-order this now at BigBadToyStore.com.

  11. Today Mezco put up for pre-order their new exclusive One:12 Collective Batman: Sovereign Knight - Onyx Edition figure which sold out in minutes, and even if you got to the site when the item was still listed as available, you probably couldn't check out as the site was glitching and running slow as molasses due to increased traffic of those trying to purchase it. 15. Hours before the DesignerCon 2018 show floor opens, superstar designer toy artist James Groman revealed via Instagram his monstrous reimaginings of Batman and his Rogues Gallery for his upcoming DC Artists Alley designer vinyl collaboration with DC Collectibles. Groman is best known for his outlandish designs as seen in many of his works including the highly popular Madballs toy series. Groman now brings his signature art style to the DC universe and offers his terrifying spin on Batman, Killer Croc, The Joker and Two-Face as 7''-scale designer vinyl figures. The figures are designed and sculpted by the artist and will be on display at this weekend’s DesignerCon convention in Anaheim, CA, at the DC Collectibles booth (#1500). “When DC Collectibles asked me to design and sculpt my own renditions of DC’s iconic Dark Knight and a few of his villainous adversaries, I was excited and intrigued,” said Groman. “Growing up, I wasn’t as big a fan of costumed heroes like most of my friends and was usually drawn to characters like Swamp Thing, Monster of Frankenstein and Werewolf by Night. With that said, I’ve always been a Batman fan, mostly because of his dark nature and origins, and he has THE BEST villains. Working with Jim Fletcher and Trevor Zammit at DC Collectibles on these figures has been so creatively satisfying! It was interesting to see just how far we could take the designs but still remain respectful of each character’s basic DNA. I can only hope this collection leads to even more collaborations with DC Collectibles.” Groman’s DC Artists Alley designer vinyls will hit stores in October 2019 and are available to preorder now. DesignerCon attendees at this weekend’s convention can take home a custom art print and enamel pin designed by Groman. Full details about Groman’s DC Artists Alley designer vinyl figures and his additional DesignerCon exclusives are below: DC Artists Alley Designer Vinyls by James Groman: - Characters: Batman, Killer Croc, The Joker and Two-Face - All figures are designed and sculpted by James Groman - Size: 7'' scale - MSRP: $65.00 each - Each character is limited to 3,000 pieces - On sale October 2019 - Up for pre-order now at BigBadToyStore.com Additional items being sold at DesignerCon 2018 at the DC Collectibles booth (#1500) - Limited-Edition Art Prints designed by James Groman (MSRP: $40.00 each) – Limited to 50 prints - Limited-Edition Enamel Pins (MSRP: $10.00 each) – Limited to 50 pins
  16. From the anime "Batman Ninja" comes a 1/8th scale statue of Batman Ninja! The original pose created by character designer Takashi Okazaki has been brought into statue form. The sense of silence is palpable as Batman Ninja waits for his enemies atop the pole sticking out from the water. The paintwork has been done with excellent detail and features highlights to represent moonlight. The base is made with translucent parts and a deep, dark paint job, which highlights the sense of darkness even in broad daylight. Be sure to add this incredible statue to your collection! You can pre-order this now from BigBadToyStore.com.
  17. Warner Bros' DCU Chaos Continues - Flash Delayed, Ben Affleck & Henry Cavill Out Entertainment by Jay Cochran - [edit post] October 16, 2018 Variety is reporting the the Flash stand-alone movie which is slated to star Ezra Miller from the Justice League movie will be delayed till some time in 2021. While the movie has never received an official release date, it was expected to start shooting next March and be released some time in 2020. According to the report, the script for the Flash movie is still being tweaked and that Miller himself will soon begin working on the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts trilogy where he has a sizeable supporting role, hence causing him to have a scheduling conflict. Warner Bros' DC Cinematic Universe has been struggling with chaos ever since their Justice League movie failed to perform well at the box office. Variety in this very report seems to confirm rumors that both Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill are officially out as Batman and Superman. Up until now the only modern DC movie to do well at the box office has ben Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman which is already getting a sequel later this year. After that in December Aquaman who is portrayed by Justice League alum Jason Momoa is next up for the stand-alone film treatment, but it is unknown how well it will perform. It's got its work cut out for it if you ask me. If Aquaman has another lack-luster performance at the box-office for Warner Bros, one has to wonder if they will be willing to role the dice at all on Flash or if they will just try and start over completely from scratch. We already have seen them starting to move forward with a Joker stand-alone movie that will star Joaquin Phoenix and seemingly has no connection with the Jared Leto version recently seen in Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad itself may be heading for a major re-haul as it was another movie that was not received well by most DC fans. Recent reports have suggested that Warner Bros is looking to bring in former Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn to write the script and possibly direct the next film. Gunn himself was recently fired by Disney for old tweets dug up online dealing with rape and pedophilia. While many fans have been willing to continue to support the somewhat disgraced director, the move to bring him in on another comic book based project has been viewed by some as nothing more than a publicity stunt on the part of Warner Bros. The future of the DCCU is unclear but everything Warner Bros. does seems to scream to me at least that they really have no clear cut vision for the property, and are just being reactive instead of proactive with it. To me that doesn't bode well for a comic book based universe that will ever be able to dethrone Marvel and Disney as king of the big screen super heroes.
