It's Wednedsay, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Poison Ivy figure from the Batman: Hush line from MAFEX. The latest entry in that amazing line, Ivy was one I was really looking forward since she is one of my favorite villains in Batman's rogue gallery. Pamela Isley, aka Poison Ivy comes with an extra head, 7 extra hands, 2 suitcases (one open and one closed), a wad of cash, and several vine/plant pieces to add to the figure. The figure arrives 'nude', and you attach the vine/plant pieces on her to make her look more 'full'. It's a fun feature, and the vines look better on the figure than if they were just painted on her, but it does make her a bit trickier to pose/play with. They tend to fall off when you play with her articulations. Speaking of articulations, just like the Catwoman and Harley Quinn figures before her, it's a beautifully articulated figures (which could have used a thigh swivel, especially since it would have been covered with the vines, but one can only dream). The colors really pop and she definitely catches the eye when looking at that MAFEX Batman: Hush shelf, which is now 10 figures strong (11 if you count the black and grey Batman repaint)! Riddler and Scarecrow will be the next figures in that line, and we do not know yet if there will be more (I believe a Robin was rumored). My theory about MAFEX doing the same figures that DC Direct did 20 years ago is still valid (why else would they have done the Stealth Suit Batman otherwise?). That would leave Commissioner Gordon, Ra's Al Ghul and Alfred, which I highly doubt we'll get to ^^ More news at 11:00... "No man can resist me. Even Superman."

It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Huntress figure from the Batman: Hush line from MAFEX. Huntress is the 9th figure in the line (counting the Batman repaint), and is a weird choice, considering she is probably nobody's favorite character from the Batman: Hush comic book, which included almost the entire Bat-family and rogue gallery (at the time). Huntress, or Helena Rosa Bertinelli, is a vigilante that operates out of Gotham City, and a member of the Bat-Family. In the Batman: Hush comic book, she appears only for a few pages, saves Batman after his grapple gun failed and he fell from the sky, and has a quick skirmish with Catwoman later. The MAFEX figure comes with an extra head sculpt, 4 extra pairs of hands, and a staff. Not a lot of accessories with that figure, and sadly no crossbow, which is usually Huntress's go-to weapon. She had an actual gun in the comic book, which she pointed at Catwoman, but since we won't have firearms with DC/Warner figures, we know why it's missing. The crossbow must be in that grey area where it has a trigger, even if it does not shoot bullets, so is considered a firearm, maybe? Huntress is a great figure, as are all the figures from that Batman: Hush line. Great articulation, with an update compared to the other ones as she has thigh swivels (gasp). It also seems that MAFEX has figured out the capes, with this one having wires on the cape but also at the bottom, so you can just fold it nicely at the bottom, or open it wide and it stays put. If only the first Batman came with a cape like this... The only issue I have with it are the pegs for the hands, which are a little too small, and the hands tend to fall off a lot when you handle the figure. More news at 11:00... Tell everyone Huntress did this to you!

It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're looking at the brand new Joker figure from the Batman: Hush line from MAFEX. This is the 5th figure in that line (6th if you count the Batman black repaint). As usual, MAFEX did an excellent work in bringing the character from the comic book in figure form. This figure blew away my expectations, actually. As much as I love Jim Lee's art (and I have tattoos from his work on my body), his Joker has never been my favorite representation of him. Add to that the DC Direct Batman: Hush figure of Joker looked really bad, so I expected this figure to be the one I would like the least. Well, it turns out it's an awesome figure! It comes with 2 stellar headsculpts, 5 extra sets of hands and a knife. As expected, no guns, since MAFEX had warned long ago about it not coming with guns due to the Warner decision to keep away from guns in their products. The shade of purple of his suit was also rectified to be darker than in the initial promo shots, which looks great. Articulation-wise, it's the usual MAFEX product, unfortunately no thigh or biceps swivel, which hinders it a little, but since it's not a Spider-man figure and doesn't need to do any gymnast posts, that will do. Of course, it would have been nice to have the prop gun with the flag to recreate "that" scene from the comic book, but we can always use guns from other figures, any third-party ones or even 3D print them if you know what you're doing - "What are you doing? - I'm printing a gun, mum!". Those are weird times, indeed. The next ones in this line should be Harley Quinn in April 2022, Batman with the Stealth Jumper suit in June and Huntress in August, unless there are any (more) delays from MAFEX. More news at 11:00... "Stop me if you've heard this one before, Batsy..."
