  1. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're looking at the Figure-rise Standard Amplified Batman model kit from Bandai. Yep, Bandai is doing Batman model kits now. I was very surprised too when the solicitations started to pop up on all the usual toy store websites, wondering if it was going to be a vehicle, a figure, etc... When the first pictures were revealed, I decided to pick it up, since I've always liked to build Gundam robots and other model kits, and also collect Batman figures. Two birds, one stone! It was a very simple and straight-forward build. All I used were some pliers and a modeling file to shave off the tiny bits after cutting. No glue or anything else needed. Just like the Gundam model kit, it was all very easy to assemble. First the head, the chest part, right arm, left arm, the legs and the waist part and then, the cape. It took about 3-4 hours to build the entire thing. The final result, though, looks pretty freaking great! That is a nice, very articulated Batman figure. Just like the other Bandai model kits, the figure is super light, but can be posed in all sorts of positions. There are tons of details all over the suit, which looks like a high-tech version of it. The cape is separated in 4 different parts which can be folded to look 'closed' or unfolded for the 'open' look. The logo on his chest can be removed to be used as a batarang. Smart! Comparison pics with the MAFEX New Adventures of Batman figure, the McFarlane Toys White Knight Batman and Death Metal Batman, and the DC Collectibles Icons Batman and Essentials Batman. More news at 11:00... "I am vengeance, I am the night, I am Figure-rise Standard Amplified Batman!"
  2. Amongst all the ‘anti-hero’, mutated characters in DC’s multiverse, the ‘Batman Who Laughs’, which combines the manic craziness of the Joker with the brute force of Bruce Wayne’s Batman is the most fascinating. Praised by fans for his unique personality and looks, the Death Metal character has become a legend in its own right and one that nightmares are made of! Beast Kingdom’s ‘Dynamic 8ction Heroes’ series of highly articulable action figures launches the ‘DAH-063 Death Metal Batman Who Laughs' , a figure representing a character of fear and madness! Standing at 20cm in height and with over 26 points of articulation, the figure brings to life the crazed, wide mouthed face with 2 replaceable head sculpts. The Death Metal inspired clothing is represented in all its glory using real cloth for the suit. The signature wings and long handled sickle are also included for fans to enjoy. Recreate the magic from the comics by posing the DAH Batman Who Laughs from the many scenes that are now iconic. Orders yours from an official Beast Kingdom outlet today! Product Measurements:Approx. 20cm Release Date: Q3, 2022
  3. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're looking at a third party one sixth scale figure, the SSR "Hush" figure, which has nothing to do with the Batman comic book of the same name, or the characters in it (*wink wink*). It's always a gamble with 'third party' figures, since we don't know if the final product will look anything like the promo pics. This figure? It blew everything away. That is a GORGEOUS figure. The head sculpts are fantastic, the body has great articulations and details (you can feel veins on the thigh muscles!), and the tailoring? Wow. I own over a dozen 1/6 Batman figures (Hot Toys, Sideshow, DC Direct), and this one is superior to all of them. The cape is made of a nice fabric that flows nicely and is easy to handle (no wires, though). This figure looks like high end head sculpts and suits that could be find only through customizers, for a fraction of the price. It comes with an additional head sculpt and neck piece with Hush's bandages, 4 extra hands, 3 batarangs, bat-logo brass knuckles and a grappling hook, complete with string. The headsculpts are held by a weird round blank part (nightmare fuel!), which can be removed to change the neck piece, depending on which sculpt you want to use. The headsculpt with the bandana looks equally awesome, and both head sculpts managed to capture the style of the comic book. I'd even say it looks closer to the book than the MAFEX version of it. More news at 11:00... Same "hush" time, same "hush" channel!

  5. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're looking at the brand new Batman figure from the New Adventures of Batman animated series, by MAFEX. Batman the Animated Series holds a special place in my heart, and I have loved all the Kenner figures that we got in the 90's, all the DC Collectibles/Direct figures that we had in the last decade, so when MAFEX announced that they would be tacking the Animated Series, I was overjoyed. Well, that is until I saw that they decided to kickstart the line with the New Adventures design, which are not as iconic than the original Animated Series, but still very Bruce Timm-esque. The DC Collectibles line did start with that one too, and we saw how far they went, so there is hope! The box is the usual MAFEX box type, with a window at the front showing the figure and all the accessories, and using a blue color, which is often used with promo art for the New Adventures series. I've read many comments about collectors being disappointed they didn't use the iconic red color, but that is for the Animated Series, and not the New Adventures. Even Kenner and DC Collectibles had blue cards for those. The figure is another very decent, brilliantly articulated offering like only MAFEX and other 'imports' brands can offer, but without being too much in order not to ruin the general aesthetic of the figure. A thigh swivel for example, would have kinda ruined the legs with a straight line right in the middle, even if it seems to be everything a collector asks for in a figure these days. Batman comes with 2 capes (one in rigid rubbery plastic that covers his shoulders, for those nice static poses, and a soft goods cape which allows for more posing), an unmasked Bruce Wayne headsculpt (wait... Bruce Wayne is Batman??), 4 extra pairs of hands, a batarang and a grapnel launcher, in action, with a metal rod to keep it always straight. Unfortunately, the rod cannot be removed to have the grapnel launcher 'not in action', but we'll get over that. Overall, this figure is far superior to the DC Collectibles one. Better articulations, more possibilities... The legs might be a bit too thin and I've seen some collectors have already broken a foot, but that is (unfortunately?) how Bruce Timm designed those characters, so we can expect more figures looking like that. We'll just have to be gentle with them! Not looking forward to the female characters, which were already very tiny and brittle on the DC Collectibles line... The New Adventures Joker is expected to join the Bat in July next year (or later, as delays are a tradition at MAFEX), and we're hoping for more announcement in between. More news at 11:00... I am vengance, I am the night... I am Batman!

Inspired by the iconic mid-1990s DC story from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two completes the two-film journey as the Holiday Killer is still at large and, with Bruce Wayne under the spell of the venomous Poison Ivy, Batman is nowhere to be found. Liberated by an unlikely ally, Bruce quickly uncovers the real culprit: Poison Ivy’s employer Carmine Falcone. The Roman, his ranks decimated by Holiday and his business spinning out of control, has been forced to bring on less desirable partners – Gotham City’s rogues’ gallery. In the meantime, Harvey Dent is confronting battles on two fronts: attempting to end the mob war while also dealing with a strained marriage. And, after an attack that leaves Harvey hideously disfigured, the District Attorney unleashes the duality of his psyche that he’s strived his entire life to suppress. Now, as Two-Face, Dent decides to take the law into his own hands and deliver judgment to those who’ve wronged him, his family, and all of Gotham. Ultimately, the Dark Knight must put together the tragic pieces that converged to create Two-Face, the Holiday Killer, Batman, and Gotham City itself. Watch the fun as panelists discuss the thrilling conclusion to this epic tale, including Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, Batman: Under the Red Hood) as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Katee Sackhoff (The Mandalorian, Battlestar Galactica, Batman: Year One) as Poison Ivy, Julie Nathanson (Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay) as Gilda Dent, Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Batman: Arkham Knight) as The Joker and screenwriter Tim Sheridan (Reign of the Supermen, Superman: Man of Tomorrow). Actress/host Tiffany Smith (He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, DC Daily) moderates the festivities. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, the feature-length animated film – which will be accompanied by the latest DC Showcase animated short, Blue Beetle –arrives July 27th, 2021, on Digital and August 10th, 2021, on Blu-ray. On Saturday, July 24th at 4:00 pm PT, WBHE celebrates the exhilarating sequel to the 2020 hit Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge with an equally thrilling (and hilarious) panel featuring the stars and filmmakers of Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms. Based on one of the most popular videogame franchises in history, Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms finds our team of heroes besieged by the enemy forces of Shao Kahn – forcing Raiden and his group of warriors into a deal to compete in a final Mortal Kombat that will determine the fate of the realms. Now our heroes must travel to Outworld in order to defend Earthrealm and, simultaneously, Scorpion must find the ancient Kamidogu before it's used to resurrect the One Being – which would mean certain destruction of all things in the universe. Time is short and the stakes are high in this action-packed continuation of the Mortal Kombat journey. Joel McHale (Community, Stargirl), the voice of Hollywood star-turned-fighter Johnny Cage, headlines a panel that includes Jordan Rodrigues (Lady Bird, The Fosters) as Liu Kang; Dave B. Mitchell (Mortal Kombat 11, Call of Duty franchise) as Raiden, Kintaro & Sektor; screenwriter Jeremy Adams (Supernatural, Justice Society: World War II); producer Rick Morales (Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, Batman vs. Two-Face); and game co-creator Ed Boon (NetherRealm Studios), who serves the films as the Creative Consultant. Joshua Gray, producer and host of Mortal Kombat Events & Professional Tournaments since 2015, moderates the panel. Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms, an all-new, feature-length film produced by Warner Bros. Animation in coordination with NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The film arrives from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack on August 31st, 2021. It’s the Fourth of July, but the fireworks are not limited to the sky as a mob war continues, Gotham City’s rogues’ gallery flourishes, and our protagonists – Batman (voiced by Jensen Ackles), Police Commissioner James Gordon (Billy Burke) and Harvey & Gilda Dent (Josh Duhamel, Julie Nathanson) contend with devious forces on all sides. Among those forces is Carmine Falcone (Titus Welliver), who takes a moment for an ominous visit with Gordon and the Dents in this all-new clip. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, the all-new feature-length Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two arrives on Digital starting July 27th, 2021, and Blu-ray on August 10th, 2021.

  11. Overseas retailer Toys Alley has released our first real look at the upcoming DC Multiverse 7" Last Night On Earth Wonder Woman variant figure with the Dr. Fate like helmeted headsculpt. We first told you about this figure coming back in January where it was indicated as being some kind of store exclusive here in the US. We still don't have official confirmation from McFarlane Toys on this one at this time, but expect it will be coming soon. Perhaps even more interesting than the image are new figure listings the overseas retailer has posted which are as follows: McFarlane DC Multiverse Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) VS Dawnbreaker 2-Pack Estimated Arrival: Q3 / Q4 2021 McFarlane DC Multiverse - Demon Knight - King Shazam - Shriek (Batman Beyond) - The Dark Knight Returns - Wonder Woman (Todd McFarlane Design) - Heavy Metal Batman (Cover Edition) - The White Knight Batcycle Estimated Arrival: Q3 / Q4 2021 We know some of these like the Shriek figure which was officially announced from McFarlane Toys will be a Target exclusive here in the US. As for the others we will have to wait and see. Of course until McFarlane Toys officially confirms these listings we will treat them as rumors.
