  1. It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Riddler Puzzle Box by Edward Nigma from McFarlane Toys/DC Direct. Something different this week! When this was announced, I thought "Cool, props!", thinking it would look a bit like something out of the Arkham video game series. Unfortunately, it wasn't like that...but it's still a Riddler themed puzzle box! The box arrived a bit smashed, but there was enough protection inside for the box to be fine. The Riddler Puzzle Box by Edward Nigma is a big cube, with puzzles on 4 of its sides (bottom and 'back' of the box don't have much). It's pretty sturdy and looks fun on a shelf, especially open or with a McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Arkham City The Riddler action figure next to it (available now!). Now, I'm gonna try to solve it, but if you do not want to be spoiled about the content of the box, you'll have to skip the next few parts! First, I turned the dial on the little door and the door opened (it has a flat side, so it opens when you get it on the right position). Inside, there was a piece of batarang (1 out of 3), 2 plastic cards and a note. The 2 cards have parts of a question mark drawn on them, and if you align them in the right position, you can fit them in the card slot next to the little door. I did that, and am not sure if it did anything! Yay! On the side with the 4 buttons, the button that has the highlighted question mark can be pushed, and it pushes out the first button. I have yet to figure out what that button/key that came out can be used for, but at least, I got a button/key! The top part has one of the squares (the middle one) that can be removed, and if you push the remaining squares up, you unveil a button! Push it and the top part opens: 2 notes and another part of the Batarang are inside! For the last part, with the key pad, I first tried to enter the 'year when the bat got his start', as mentioned in the notes found in the top part, and it did nothing. The other card said 'To continue, you'll need to phone some friends. Forget the bats, call the birds and a cat and start with your oldest friend first. Success is just a few clicks away!'... It didn't help much, but that last sentence kinda gave a clue, since I noticed when I pushed 4, there is a click sound. I pushed it a few more times, and a drawer opened at the back of the box, with the third and final part of the Batarang, and a note saying congratulations and to place everything back where you found them for others to try to solve it (I forgot to take a picture of that one. My bad!). You can now assemble your Batarang, which is kinda nice, made of metal, with a bit of weight to it. In the end, I am not entirely sure that I did everything the way it was intended (like the key pad part, where I just pressed the same button until it opened... there might be a more 'clever' way to solve that). It's fun for 5-10 minutes, but once you've solved it once, it kind of loses its novelty. At least, it looks good on a shelf. If you're planning to get it, I would wait to get it on sale, because $99.99 is a bit much for what it is. More news at 11:00... Riddle me this, riddle me that. Who is afraid of the big black bat?
  2. Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the most universally acclaimed film in the Dark Knight’s legendary cinematic history when the newly-remastered animated movie Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, comes to 4K Ultra HD for the very first time. From Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, the film will be available to purchase on 4K Ultra HD on September 12, 2023. The release will also include an all-new featurette Kevin Conroy: I Am The Knight, which takes a look at the legacy of Kevin Conroy, who voiced Batman for 30 years in film, television, video games, and more. Rooted in DC’s acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series and released theatrically on Christmas Day 1993, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm has not only been ranked by Time magazine as one of the 10 best Super Hero movies ever but is also arguably the core fans’ all-time favorite Batman film. The movie has been rated at the top of the Dark Knight film franchise by such popular entertainment media as Empire, Screenrant, and Paste. And in the ultimate mainstream salute for its time, Gene Siskel & Robert Ebert didn’t initially review the film during its theatrical release, but later dedicated a portion of their At The Movies weekly TV series to pay compliments to the film – and voice their regret for not giving it the attention it deserved during its original run – when Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was distributed for home entertainment. The 4K HDR/SDR remaster of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was sourced from the 1993 Original Cut Camera Negative and was scanned at 4K resolution. The digital restoration was applied to the 4K scans to remove dirt, scratches, and additional anomalies, but special care was given to not touch the film grain or the animation cel dirt that was part of the original artwork. This is the first time since its theatrical release that it is presented in its 1.85 aspect ratio. The original 2.0 mix and the 5.1 tracks were remastered to remove or improve defects such as pops, ticks, dropouts, and distortion. The animated film features an all-star cast headed by the quintessential voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, alongside Dana Delany (Desperate Housewives, China Beach) as Bruce Wayne’s love interest, Andrea Beaumont, Mark Hamill (Star Wars franchise) as the Joker, Stacy Keach (Nebraska, Prison Break, Mike Hammer) as Phantasm/Carl Beaumont, Abe Vigoda (Barney Miller, The Godfather) as Salvatore Valestra, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. (The F.B.I.) as Alfred, Hart Bochner (Die Hard) as Arthur Reeves, Bob Hastings (McHale’s Navy, The Poseidon Adventure) as Commissioner Gordon, Robert Costanzo (Forget Paris, City Slickers) as Detective Bullock, Dick Miller (Gremlins, The Terminator) as Chuckie Sol, and John P. Ryan (The Right Stuff) as Buzz Bronski. Additional voices included Pat Musick, Marilu Henner, Neil Ross, Ed Gilbert, Jeff Bennett, Jane Downs, Vernee Watson, Charles Howerton, Thom Pinto, and Peter Renaday. The Batman: Mask of the Phantasm filmmaking team is composed of the award-winning core group behind Batman: The Animated Series. Eric Radomski and Bruce Timm directed the film from a screenplay by Alan Burnett, Paul Dini, Martin Pasko, and Michael Reaves, based on a story by Burnett. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm will be available on September 12, 2023, to purchase Digitally from Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Vudu, and more. 4K Ultra HD Discs will be available to purchase online and in-store at major retailers. Pre-order your copy now. SYNOPSIS: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm opens with the city's most feared gangsters being systematically eliminated, and assumed blame falling on the Caped Crusader. But prowling Gotham Night is a shadowy new villain, the Phantasm, a sinister figure with some link to Batman's past. Can the Dark Knight elude the police, capture the Phantasm and clear his name? Unmasking the Phantasm is just one of the twists in this dazzling animated feature, which provides new revelations about Batman's past, his archrival the Joker, and Batman's most grueling battle ever - the choice between his love for a beautiful woman and his vow to be the defender of right. SPECIAL FEATURES INCLUDE*: Kevin Conroy: I Am The Knight (New Featurette) – For 30 years, Kevin Conroy defined Batman for multiple generations using only his voice, best exemplified in the landmark film Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Conroy passed away in November 2022, but his legacy lives on in 15 films, nearly 400 episodes of animated television series, a dozen video games, and as a live-action Bruce Wayne in the Arrowverse’s 2019-2020 “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event. Several of Conroy’s contemporaries – including animation legend Bruce Timm, Batman producer Michael Uslan and revered voice actress Tara Strong – pay tribute to the star who remains the Dark Knight for millions of Batfans. 3. Following the massive success and reception of the most anticipated figure of the last few years, none other than the Mezco One:12 Collective Batman - 1989 Edition, Mezco Toyz decided to double down and announced the next figure in their One:12 Collective line that is sure to sell out instantly and get released in a timely manner: The One:12 Collective Batman - 1992 Edition (Batman Returns)! "The whole process went so smoothly for the first one, it makes all the sense in the world to continue and deliver another Batman." said Nick, a long time collector of the line. "People kept anticipating the Batman 89 for so long, and were SO HAPPY when they finally got it, I can't wait for the Batman Returns version, with the slightly different costume and emblem." ToyFarce received an exclusive early look at the promo pictures for what fans are sure to call "Batman 92" or "Batman Returns Batman". More news at 11:00... Crossing fingers for One:12 Collective Batman 95 next! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  4. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the DC Multiverse wave of The Flash movie, which hits theaters this week (today, in a lot of countries!), by McFarlane Toys. This wave had 6 figures, and 2 vehicles (Batcycle and Batmobile) from the movie. I skipped on the Batmobile (for now...). First off, the main character, the Flash himself. Barry Allen, as portrayed by Ezra Miller, comes with speed force effects, small ones, along with the usual stand and trading card. The likeness is kinda off, and I'd say the suit is a bit too bright (he looks like he's made of Jolly Ranchers!). McFarlane Toys has since released pictures of an upcoming 'Gold Label' variant which seems to have fixed that. Another Flash figure, since the movie seems to have a number of those. This is a fun one because he seems to have the Batman suit from Batman Returns painted red and yellow, and it's gonna be interesting to see what's up with that in the movie. He comes with speed force effects, but larger, more condensed than the other one. Different powers? So many questions! His head sculpt is very rough, though. Not sure why McFarlane Toys always seems to struggle with head sculpts of movie figures... Supergirl, portrayed by Sasha Calle, is a nice figure. She comes with an extra set of hands, and a flight stand (the McFarlane Toys flight stands are pretty great for display). The likeness is a bit better then the 2 Flash figures. I'm interested to see her story, and have heard that she steals every scene she is in. The Michael Keaton Batman figure is a nice one. It's just so surreal to have Keaton back as Batman! It's been known for some time now, but when he appeared in the trailer? Goosebumps. Really excited to see him in it. He comes with extra hands, a grappling hook and a batarang. The suit looks pretty nice, and has a shine to it. Likeness is on par with the Kenner figure from back in the days, a bit... but hey, soft goods cape! Easier to sit him down in the Batmobile that way! The other Batman is a bit of a question mark. The suit, along with the logo, clearly look like a variant of the Ben Affleck Batman suit, but the likeness is terrible. It looks more like the stuntman... Also, other brands, such as Hot Toys, seem to have trouble doing a Ben Affleck face for that figure too... Could it be that it's not him? Interesting... (it's either that, or Ben Affleck did not agree to likeness rights, and all the figures have to look bad on purpose). The figure comes with an extra set of hands to go with the Batcycle. From what we saw in the trailer, this version seems to be the one riding the Batcycle, which is a very nice bike, with lots of details, especially for around $30. The Dark Flash looks like he'll be the film's villain (thanks for the spoiler, Todd!). The design is kinda weird, but weird is what McFarlane Toys does best. Lots of details and textures on this figure. Not much details about him, but I'll assume he's another Flash, and that he turned dark, hence the name! More news at 11:00... Worlds collide... in a theater near you!
  5. Here's my custom Kenner Super Powers Two-Face. It was made from a 3D print that I purchased recently. Just painted and pegged together.
  6. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Huntress figure from the Batman: Hush line from MAFEX. Huntress is the 9th figure in the line (counting the Batman repaint), and is a weird choice, considering she is probably nobody's favorite character from the Batman: Hush comic book, which included almost the entire Bat-family and rogue gallery (at the time). Huntress, or Helena Rosa Bertinelli, is a vigilante that operates out of Gotham City, and a member of the Bat-Family. In the Batman: Hush comic book, she appears only for a few pages, saves Batman after his grapple gun failed and he fell from the sky, and has a quick skirmish with Catwoman later. The MAFEX figure comes with an extra head sculpt, 4 extra pairs of hands, and a staff. Not a lot of accessories with that figure, and sadly no crossbow, which is usually Huntress's go-to weapon. She had an actual gun in the comic book, which she pointed at Catwoman, but since we won't have firearms with DC/Warner figures, we know why it's missing. The crossbow must be in that grey area where it has a trigger, even if it does not shoot bullets, so is considered a firearm, maybe? Huntress is a great figure, as are all the figures from that Batman: Hush line. Great articulation, with an update compared to the other ones as she has thigh swivels (gasp). It also seems that MAFEX has figured out the capes, with this one having wires on the cape but also at the bottom, so you can just fold it nicely at the bottom, or open it wide and it stays put. If only the first Batman came with a cape like this... The only issue I have with it are the pegs for the hands, which are a little too small, and the hands tend to fall off a lot when you handle the figure. More news at 11:00... Tell everyone Huntress did this to you!
  7. Prime Video today announced the acquisition of two new DC animated Batman series, alongside an original animated film from Warner Bros. Animation and DC. The film Merry Little Batman is ordered with a spinoff series, Bat-Family, along with a two-season order for Batman: Caped Crusader, from executive producers Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves. The Batman animated titles will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories. Batman: Caped Crusader is an all-new animated series and reimagining of the Batman mythology through the visionary lens of executive producers Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves. Utilizing state-of-the-art animation techniques, this powerful creative partnership will once again reinvent the character and his iconic rogue’s gallery with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters, and intense action sequences, all set in a visually striking world. In addition to Timm, Abrams, and Reeves, Ed Brubaker and Sam Register are set to executive produce the series. Based on characters from DC, Batman: Caped Crusader is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions, and 6th & Idaho. Merry Little Batman is an animated family action comedy destined to join the rogue's gallery of classic holiday movies. When young Damian Wayne finds himself alone in Wayne Manor on Christmas Eve, he must transform into “Little Batman'' to defend his home and Gotham City from the crooks and supervillains intent on destroying the holidays. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and based on characters from DC, Merry Little Batman is directed by Mike Roth (Regular Show) from a screenplay by Morgan Evans (Teen Titans Go!). Roth also serves as executive producer, alongside Sam Register. Following the events of Merry Little Batman, Bat-Family follows Batman, Alfred, and young Damian Wayne—who has now taken on the mantle of Little Batman—alongside a few newcomers to Wayne Manor, as they navigate the fun and frustrations of life as a superfamily. Jase Ricci, Mike Roth, and Sam Register are set to executive produce the series, which is produced by Warner Bros. Animation. 8. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Batman - 1989 Edition from the Mezco One:12 Collective line. No, you are not dreaming. Do not attempt to adjust your computer/cellphone screen. It's happening. The review of a figure 3 years in the making. We've heard the complaints, we've memed it to death, but now, it's time to give it its due: It's a godd$*n nice figure! For reminders, the figure was announced and up for pre-order in January 2020, and supposed to be out by August to October of that same year... and it was delayed... and delayed... and delayed... No information or updates from Mezco during that whole time, which is why it became such a hot subject, and when the emails saying that they would start processing it started to pop up last month, people did not believe it at first. (There was even some weird custom that someone made and tried to pass as the real thing in early march... Those were strange times). But now, it is out! The box is quite sober, as usual with Mezco one:12 collective. Logo on the front, promo pics we had already seen on the back. There are 2 levels of inserts inside. First off the body. When you open the figure, you'll notice it has a powder coating on it. It's to protect the rubber body. Mezco released a statement about it, and if you've handled a seamless body before, you'll know it. A quick wash, either using a microfiber cloth and a bit of water, or a rubber protectant product and tadaa, it will be gone. And D$*N, this thing looks amazing. It has an articulated metal armature under the rubber, which allows for great posing. I know some collectors have posted about being frustrated by the body not moving as it should, or having loose arms or legs, but I can only talk from experience, and mine turned up great. Batman - 1989 Edition comes with 3 extra heads, on top of the one with moveable eyes, 6 extra hands, 2 capes (wired and not wired, more on that later), 4 batarangs, 1 batarang with wire, a grapnel launcher with hook, a grapnel launch with hook and wire or a collapsed grapnel launcher, a gauntlet, a time bomb, a shuriken and a couple more tiny accessories I'm not sure about (things that come from his utility belt!), along with the usual big circular Mezco stand and post. Pro tip: Dorklair posted a very helpful tip about the wired cape, which only has wires every 2 seams: You can mod it very easily by adding wires (either from twist ties that you get from other toys, or just getting actual metal wire from a hardware store) directly into the seams that do not have a wire. It's pretty easy, they slide right up, and changes everything. Now, should we have to do that ourselves after waiting for 3 years for a $100 figure, that's another story... Here is is, in all its glory. The figure feels nice in hand, moves quite easily, and the likeness is very good. The moveable eyes on the headsculpt work fine, even if it looks like he is permanently surprised (the eyes being bigger), and the 3 other headsculpts look awesome. That is one of the best 1989 Batman figure out there. Some could say it was even worth the wait, but I'll wait to say that once everybody has gotten theirs, as there are a lot of people still waiting for it, unfortunately... More news at 11:00... I'm Batman.
  9. Now that a large portion of the Mezco One:12 Collective Batman 1989 Edition have been delivered, and the reviews and pictures have been flooding our feeds, it is nice to know that the toy community can (one:12) collectively move on, and focus on the next big thing (like 'Where is my Mezco Mr Freeze'). There were multiple reports about one collector that ToyFarce went out of their way to meet: a satisfied collector! ToyFarce met with Justin, a collector from Colorado, that has zero complaints about the Mezco One:12 Collective Batman 1989 edition that he just acquired: "I'm really glad with how it turned out! Have you seen this thing? It's awesome!" About the 3 year wait: "I didn't mind waiting. I am sure Mezco wanted the figure to be perfect, which caused the wait to be longer, so I understand. The final result definitely speaks for itself! I'm glad they took their time. You can't rush perfection." About no information about the delays for 3 years: "I don't spend a lot of time online, so I would have missed it anyway. Was it really 3 years? Wow. With the whole pandemic thing, I've been working from home, so most days looked like each other, I didn't see time fly. It could have been 3 years and I didn't know." About the figure finally arriving: "It was like Christmas in late March/early April. When I received the email saying it would process soon, I was so excited! I'm sure everybody was." About the figure having a powder residue on it: "Since it's a seamless body in rubber, Mezco had to put a powder on it so that it doesn't dry or get damaged. Can you imagine? Mezco cares so much about their figures and their customer satisfaction, they put a powder on our toys to protect them. Best company ever! Also, after quickly and calmly researching on the internet, I saw that we can use a product on it to protect it as well (303 Protectant spray). Isn't it great?" About the figure itself: "I love it. The new body looks really good, it articulates well. I don't really check social media or youtube reviews, so I don't know what other collectors have been saying this whole time, but I can't imagine anybody being mad or sour about the delay or the figure. It's awesome!" There has to be some sort of morale in there... More news at 11:00... Next: Mister Freeze! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!

  11. There it is, folks! Hell has officially frozen over! On Friday, the message, 3 years in the making, has been received by everyone, like a Bat Signal in the sky: The long awaited Mezco One:12 Collective Batman - 1989 Edition action figure is processing soon! This is not a drill! But what were the events that led to its surprise reveal? Could it be that this email was unintentional? ToyFarce investigated... ToyFarce met with Brad, the newest intern at the Mezco HQ in New York, to tell us exactly what happened on Friday: "I had just come back from a coffee run, and sat down at my desk, when I saw that there was an email from the company. I looked at it and thought it was the email saying that the One:12 Collective Batman - 1989 Edition was processing soon, so I was excited, and just forwarded it to everyone, using the company email address... It is only after I scrolled down a little that I saw that this was just a new template email, and it said "FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY" in the title. Third day on the job and I've already messed up..." The news went through the toy community like wildfire, as every group chats, Facebook groups, and news website would instantly blow up and talk about how FINALLY, the wait is over. Not only that, but ToyFarce also heard that mainstream news also picked up on it. Special thanks to William "Dorklair" for sending this over! More news at 11:00... Now, that figure will definitely 100% meet the expectations of everyone, right? *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  12. Another week, another McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse line reveal! Over the last few days, McFarlane Toys has released pictures teasing the upcoming DC Multiverse The Dark Knight Trilogy wave, releasing pictures of Batman, Two-Face, and Scarecrow. We already know that the Joker is part of that line, and that Bane is most likely the 'Collect-to-build' figure, but what if it was all a trick, and the 'Collect-to-build' figure was actually right in front of our eyes, the whole time? ToyFarce investigated... We worked around the clock to look for clues (what wouldn't ToyFarce do for you?), and we are 60% sure that we have found out who the "Collect-to-build" figure will be... A Rachel Dawes figure! (More like "Collect-to-reassemble", actually!). On the first picture, Batman can be seen over the ruins of the warehouse where Rachel was in the Dark Knight movie. The Two-Face reveal pic is a bit on the nose, since Harvey Dent became Two-Face at that exact moment too. On the Scarecrow reveal picture, we can see barrels... the SAME barrels that exploded to "disassemble" Rachel! If those are not clues, we do not know what is. We hired an expert to see if the pictures had been edited, and it turns out they were, and here are what was on the original pictures: The great part about this "Collect-to-build" figure is that you do not even need to assemble it! You can just display the different limbs on the floor, around the figures, for that realistic movie touch. No information yet if the figure will come with Maggie Gyllenhaal or Katie Holmes headsculpt. More news at 11:00... 13. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Batman Forever one sixth scale figures from Hot Toys. These are figures that we weren't sure would ever actually come out, but Hot Toys actually put them up for pre-order back in February 2021, so there was hope! And now, they are here! Yay... not? Both packaging are really nice and quite colorful, just like the movie was. It has a sleeve with a picture of the figure on the front and all the legalities in the back. Under the sleeve, you can see the figure through a window (although both figures are covered with protective plastic so you can't see them very well...). First off, Batman, as portrayed by Val Kilmer in 1995, in his Sonar Suit which he wears at the end of the movie, after the Riddler (played by Jim Carrey) destroyed the Batcave. Batman (Sonar Suit) comes with a ton of accessories. He has 7 extra hands, 2 versions of his batarang (open and closed), a grapnel launcher with a wire that can be attached to it, the batarang blade weapon that can attach to his hand, the underwater thruster from the movie, and a stand. His eyes can individually move (they are on a plate inside the cowl), and an extra set of 'sonar' eyes is also included, as well as the tool to change/move the eyes. As it happened before with Hot Toys Batman figures, the figure is an articulated body covered by a quite thick rubber suit, which completely hinders articulations. You can bend the arms and legs a little, but when you do, the suit bunches up and it does not look great. Leaving that figure in any other position than the infamous "Museum pose" will not look great and probably damage the suit after some time... Yay... Unfortunately, the peg hole under the head arrived broken on mine, so I cannot change the eyes. I am currently waiting for a replacement part. As gorgeous as it looks, this figure has been a bit of a let down. Robin also looks great, but is unfortunately not better. The suit is the same way as the Batman figure, thick rubber, so he can't move much. Those are more like statues with a little bit of articulation, basically. Robin also comes with only 4 extra hands and no other accessories. No PERS (moving eyes) feature. To add insult to injury, he costs the same as the Batman figure. I also believe that the red is the wrong shade of red. It seemed a lot darker in the movie... And what's up with that bulge?! Once again, they look beautiful, and I'll admit that I've been catching myself staring at them in the Detolf, and thinking 'Man, those look awesome', but you can't really pose them or do anything with them. Those are expensive figures that only a completist who has all the other Hot Toys Batman figures would get... so I did. More news at 11:00... Babyyyy! I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey...
  14. In this future, there is no future... A custom cobbled Knightmare bats from the McFarlane Grim Knight with a mild repaint, wired coat and scarf and Mezco goggles. The Superman shocktroops are McFarlane WH40K Darktide troopers.
  15. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the new Harley Quinn figure from the Batman: Hush comic book line by MAFEX. Harley is the 7th figure from this line (8th if you include the repaint). She's a great figure and could very well be 'the' original look Harley Quinn figure, after several, several attempts by other brands (with the DC Icons Harley Quinn at a close second). Harley Quinn comes with 2 extra headsculpts (smiling and angry), 4 extra pairs of hands (fists, grabbing hands, pointing fingers and open "jazz-hands"), an extra set of feet with the springs she used in the comic book to jump on the stage, and her trusted hammer. The only thing missing would have been her gun with the cork on a string in it, like she had in the book, but the no-gun rule is pretty strict, even for prop guns with flags for Joker or cork guns for Harley. This figure has amazing articulation and can be put in all sorts of acrobatic poses, just like her comic book counterpart. The head sculpts look really good, even if they didn't really capture the Jim Lee style of Harley Quinn. When you look at her, it's clearly Harley (No derpy face like the DC Essentials one). If you have the MAFEX Batman: Hush Catwoman figure, it is more of the same, with the addition of the wristbands, which can sometimes fall off when you're switching hands, but we can live with that. The next figures from this line should be Huntress and Nightwing, which have been delayed to later next year. Well, this Harley was scheduled for April 2022, but who's counting anyway! More news at 11:00... "Opera-Shmopera!"
  16. A customized Knightmare Batman, made from the McFarlane Grim Knight, a wired coat and scarf from Ebay seller gpslot, and goggles from Mezco Doc Nocturnal. The figure has been moderately repainted for details and weathering. The shocktroops are the basic McFarlane Warhammer40K Darktide figs.
  17. A Million Little Things actor David Giuntoli will be voicing Batman for Warner Bros. Animation, DC, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham. The animated film is based on the 2001 graphic novel by Mike Mignola, Richard Pace, and Troy Nixey. It is part of DC’s Elseworlds line, which tells stories set outside the DC universe. Explorer Bruce Wayne in the 1920s accidentally unleashes an ancient evil and returns to Gotham after being away for two decades. Batman battles Lovecraftian supernatural forces and encounters allies and enemies such as Green Arrow, Ra’s al Ghul, Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, Two-Face, and James Gordon. Additional voice cast includes Tati Gabrielle as Kai Li Cain, Christopher Gorham as Oliver Queen, John DiMaggio as James Gordon, Patrick Fabian as Harvey Dent, Brian George as Alfred, and Jason Marsden as Dick Grayson and Young Bruce Wayne, Karan Brar as Sanjay “Jay” Tawde; David Dastmalchian as Grendon; Navid Negahban as Ra’s al Ghul; Emily O’Brien as Talia al Ghul and Martha Wayne; Tim Russ as Lucius Fox; Matthew Waterson as Jason Blood/Etrigan; Jeffrey Combs as Kirk Langstrom; William Salyers as Cobblepot; Gideon Adlon as Oracle; and Darin De Paul as Thomas Wayne. Christopher Berkeley and Sam Liu will be co-directing from a script by Jase Ricci. Sam Liu, Jim Krieg, and Kimberly S. Moreau are producing, with Sam Register and Michael Uslan executive producing. Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham is expected in the spring of 2023. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
  18. As more and more Mezco One:12 Collective action figures are starting to come out, there was hope that a stray 'Processing soon' email would arrive in our mailboxes about the coveted 1989 Batman figure, a figure that has been delayed for over 2 years now (original release date was between August and October 2020). Unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to wait a little more, as ToyFarce was approached by a self-proclaimed time traveler, who confirmed to us that the figure is still not out in 2034! The time traveler introduced himself as Blizzorp3000 (he explained that in the future, we won't use first names and last names anymore, but rather our internet usernames), and said that he came from the year 2034. We were hoping that he would let us know about important upcoming events, or maybe lottery numbers or a sports almanac, but he said that that wasn't important. He was there to let us know one thing, and one thing only: The Mezco One:12 Collective 1989 Batman figure is still not out yet in 2034. When we asked why he would use a time machine to come and tell us that, he just shrugged and said he thought it was important. In fact, it was the most important thing to him. He then went back to his time machine and left. We are still not sure if it happens, or if this was a fever dream. More news at 11:00... This is heavy. *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  19. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the DC Multiverse Arkham Knight mini-wave from McFarlane Toys. Last week, we checked the Arkham City wave, with the Solomon Grundy "Collect To Build" figure. After that wave came out, McFarlane Toys doubled down by annoucing another Arkham video games-centric wave, with Red Hood, Scarecrow from Arkham Knight, and the Joker (infected version) from Arkham City (which also appeared in Arkham Knight that way). First off, Red Hood, as he appeared in the (forgettable) Red Hood Story pack DLC for Arkham Knight. Red Hood, or Jason Todd, was actually one of the main villains of the Arkham Knight game, the Arkham Knight himself (spoiler!), and turned good again during the game. The DLC was not mindblowing but gave us that cool design with the jacket and the hood over his mask. Red Hood comes with some of the weirdest effects (small explosion, and punch thing effect, maybe?), due to the 'no weapon' rule, BUT... he does come with trigger finger hands, and if you have a McFarlane Toys Munitions packs, you can get the perfect accessories for him (aka 2 guns). Scarecrow, as he appeared in Arkham Knight, is another beautifully sculpted figure. There was a 'Gold label' monochrome version of it that was released earlier, but I'm glad they decided to release a 'normal color' version (as if it was a surprise...). The Scarecrow was voiced by John Noble (LOTR, Fringe,...) in the game, for that extra spooky voice. It was the main villain of the game with the Arkham Knight, and the figure comes with zero accessories... He has needles for hands, I guess he doesn't need any! The infected Joker is what the Joker looked like in Arkham City, after injecting himself with the titan and becoming a huge monster at the end of the first game, Arkham Asylum. This figure is basically a repaint of the Arkham Asylum Joker, released during the first year of DC Multiverse, except he couldn't have a gun, so they gave him... a sword. You know, the one thing he never used in the game. Here are some comparison pics: McFarlane Toys Red Hood and Arkham Knight (spoilers!) McFarlane Toys and DC Collectibles Red Hood McFarlane Toys and DC Collectibles Scarecrow McFarlane Toys Arkham City and Arkham Asylum Joker McFarlane Toys and DC Direct Joker (Sickened) McFarlane Toys has announced a Arkham City Riddler since, and here's hoping for more Arkham goodness! More news at 11:00... This is how it happened. This is how the Batman died.
  20. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the DC Multiverse Arkham City wave from McFarlane Toys, with the Collect-to-Build Solomon Grundy (It's like a Build-a-figure, but with less lawsuits). The Arkham video game series is one of my favorite game franchise, so I needed that wave. Last week, we sadly lost Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in the Animated Series and the Arkham video game series. Rest in Peace, Kevin. First off, Batman. Now, THAT is a Arkham City Batman. It is day and (dark) night compared to the Arkham Asylum one that McFarlane Toys released in their first year of DC Multiverse. This figure has the proportions (mostly) right, and a perfect head sculpt. Batman comes with a grappler gun, and Grundy's legs. Easily one of the top 3 DC Multiverse Batman figures for me (and God knows there is a ton of them...). Catwoman is also a nice figure, with a great headsculpt. The rubber 'diaper' is a bit too pronounced on the front, but whoever sculpted the back... really loves his job. A great attention to detail! Selina Kyle (spoilers!) comes with her whip, which could have been a bit more rubbery, as this one is made of solid plastic and does not move, and Grundy's chest. Oswald Cobblepot, the Penguin is the one that disappointed me the most in that wave, as he still looks really good, but the big rubber jacket basically turns him into a brick with arms. The details on the jacket are nice, though. The Penguin comes with an umbrella (which one is it?) and Grundy's head and jacket. Ra's Al Ghul, which was an important part of the game, is a bit bulkier than he was in the game (if i remember correctly), and has super saiyan hair. The figure looks pretty decent, with lots of details on his outfit. The leader of the League of Assassins comes with a sword with arabic writing on it, and Grundy's arms, the final part of the Collect-to-build figure. Solomon Grundy, born on a monday... The Collect-to-build figure is very easy to assemble (I have bad memories of the Last Knight on Earth Bane, which hurt my fingers a few times). You can choose to have the jacket on or go topless. The figure looks great, since it's a monster and McFarlane Toys knows how to make them, with lots of nice details and textures, the face looks awesome... BUT... it's a bit small. It's barely taller than the other figures from this line, while Grundy was a gigantic in the game, and could have been a 'Megafigure'. Here are comparison pics: McFarlane Toys Batman from Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight McFarlane Toys and DC Direct Arkham City Batman McFarlane Toys and DC Direct Arkham City Catwoman McFarlane Toys and DC Direct Arkham City The Penguin McFarlane Toys and DC Direct Arkham City Ra's Al Ghul McFarlane Toys and DC Direct Arkham City Solomon Grundy (See what I mean when I said he's small? The DC Direct one is HUGE in comparison) More McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Arkham video game figures reviews to come! More news at 11:00... RIP Kevin Conroy
  21. One of Filmation’s most beloved animated series has been newly remastered in high definition for release on Blu-ray for the first time ever! Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will distribute The Adventures of Batman: The Complete Collection on February 28, 2023, as a two-disc set featuring all 34 episodes of the classic series for $29.98 SRP (USA) and $39.99 SRP (Canada). The Adventures of Batman was one of the spotlight animated television series to be produced by Filmation, who generated more than 50 animated series, over a dozen television shorts, specials and movies, and eight feature films. The Adventures of Batman was also paired with another famous DC Super Hero to become The Batman/Superman Hour. Filmation veteran Olan Soule (Super Friends, The Towering Inferno) provided the voice of Batman, while American Top 40 co-founder & host Casey Kasem (Scooby-Doo franchise) played Robin. The supporting cast featured two-time Emmy Award winner Ted Knight (The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Caddyshack) as Commissioner Gordon, Larry Storch (F Troop) as Joker, and Jane Webb (Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Archie Show) as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl. Soule and Kasem became the reigning voices of Batman and Robin, respectively, for several years as the Dynamic Duo would appear in two The New Scooby-Doo Movies crossovers, various versions of Super Friends, and The New Adventures of Batman. Premiering on September 14, 1968, The Adventures of Batman also featured Batman’s primary rogues’ gallery at the time – Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, Riddler, Scarecrow, Dollman, Mad Hatter and Simon the Pieman – as well as some notable team-ups of those villains. The 34 episodes in The Adventures of Batman: The Complete Collection are: My Crime Is Your Crime / A Bird Out of Hand The Cool, Cruel Mr. Freeze / The Joke’s on Robin How Many Herring in a Wheelbarrow? / In Again, Out Again Penguin The Nine Lives of Batman / Long John Joker Bubi, Bubi, Who’s Got the Ruby? / 1001 Faces of the Riddler The Big Birthday Caper / Two Penguins Too Many Partners in Peril / The Underworld Underground Caper Hizzoner the Joker / Freeze’s Frozen Vikings The Crime Computer / The Great Scarecrow Scare A Game of Cat and Mouse / Beware of Living Dolls Will the Real Robin Please Stand Up? / He Who Swipes the Ice, Goes to the Cooler Simon the Pieman / A Mad, Mad Tea Party From Catwoman with Love / Perilous Playthings A Perfidious Pieman Is Simon / Cool, Cruel Christmas Caper The Fiendishly Frigid Fraud / Enter the Judge The Jigsaw Jeopardy / Wrath of the Riddler It Takes Two to Make a Team / Opera Buffa
  22. Well, riddle me this! During the weekend, McFarlane Toys teased on social media the upcoming figure of the Arkham City version of the Riddler. But in true Riddler fashion, it may be that we will have to do some side quests in order to be able to acquire that figure: Find 247 Riddler Trophies, just like in the video game! The DC Multiverse line has been focusing on the Arkham video games designs lately, with a wave of 4 Arkham City figures with a 'Collect-To-Build' Solomon Grundy figure (it's like a 'Build-a-figure', but with less lawsuits). Then, that same 'Collect-to-Build' wave but in grey and black, like in the promo pictures of the Arkham City game (Gold Label... shouldn't it be Grey Label?). Also, another 3 figures from Arkham Knight were just released (Scarecrow, Red Hood and Joker), with 2 of them having a Gold Label version as well (the Gold Label versions being monochrome versions of Scarecrow and Red Hood). #NotConfusing To prepare for his official announcement, the Riddler has hidden 247 Riddler Trophies all around your collection, and if you manage to find them all, including that one under the Detolf glass cabinet that is impossible to reach, that you have already tried 14 times and is challenging your sanity, or that one where you need to freeze and break the wall of your bathroom, you will then be able to order the figure. A proof that you found them all will be required at check out. More news at 11:00... I really hope we don't have to do the Batmobile race track challenges too! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
