  1. i listened to a creed track today, that one about having a son or something? i have always thought he sounds like eddie vedder. now i know its eddie vedder and ronan keating in one. the guitarist thinks he is kirk hammet. i dont mind creed they are ok.

There's actually a MadTV sketch making fun of some band called The Calling. Then Scott Stapp comes out and complains that the guy sounds too much like him. Then Eddie Vedder comes out and complains that they both copied him. Then to top it all off, Ray Charles comes out with a piano and claims he was the first to use the voice. It's a pretty funny sketch.

  2. Do you mean the albums that I listen to the most? In that case...

    Black Star - Black Star

Nas - Illmatic (10 Year Anniversary Remastered)

    Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

I listen to many other CDs, but these are the ones I play the most.

  3. So he lives in LA? Or he lives in MA? I didn't understand from what you wrote there where he lives.

Sorry about that, man. I was trying to explain the whole story, and somehow it came out completely weird. Steven Tyler and many other members of Aerosmith live in towns right near me, on the South Shore of MA. Actually, I was in an acting class with Joe Perry's son once. Tyler also owns a restaurant in the area called Mount Blue. I've heard he stops in there from time to time.

It's pretty cool having superstars live nearby. Especially considering this area is relatively unknown. It's not like I live in L.A. and see celebrities everyday (McFly). @smilepunch@

  4. Steven Tyler

You know, I was THIS CLOSE to meeting him the other day. For some reason, unlike most celebrities (who live in L.A.), he lives about a town over from me. He came to a carnival called the Marshfield Fair. I'm an intern at a local radio station, and I was sitting at our booth at the fair. There's this kid who works at the station, maybe about 19 or 20 years old. At one point he looked at some guy then stared at me, mouth open wide. I asked him what it was, and he was like, "Is that...?" I looked past him and saw Steven Tyler, wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses. He was about 25 feet away, looking for his kids. He went to go find them, and two female deejays tracked him down. I was supposed to follow, but I scrambled to find a portable radio in the station van. But it was too late, they were already gone. They came back later and one of the deejays said she felt like a jerk that I couldn't make it. They said he was really nice and didn't seem to mind being bothered in his private life.

And it really was him too. The funny thing is, almost all the members of Aerosmith live right on the South Shore of Massachusetts, in Marshfield or Norwell or something. Don't ask me why. I guess they're just real down to Earth like that. It's kinda cool, actually the South Shore is well known for it.

  5. You don't even have a mind of your own yet (likely borrowed from mommy and daddy) so I'd say your likely still under their "parental influence" and don't even have the first clue as to what the REAL world is about, let alone issues like what we're discussing here.

I'm the opposite. My dad is voting for Kerry, I like Bush. Just to let you all know, my dad is not a liberal. In fact, he's more of a conservative. He's only voting for Kerry cuz he's one of the "Boston Boys". @loll@ He actually votes for Republicans a lot, but I guess he just feels better having a guy from Boston in the White House.

  6. I want to beat Evanescence to a bloody pulp when I hear that loathsome whining and miserable wailing!

Wow, I thought I was the only one!

Say, VH, what the hell are you doing in the Music Forum? @loll@

  7. Sorry if this has already been revealed, but I have only just recently begun following Ep. III's progress. There's one thing I'd really like to know. Who will be doing the voice of Vader in Ep. ROTS? Did James Earl Jones ever decide to come back, or have they abandoned that altogether? I think anyone else doing the dialogue would not feel right to me. Even though he was not in the suit, to me James Earl Jones IS Vader.

Once again, sorry if this has already been revealed.

  8. I haven't purchased the CD yet, but maybe I'll pass anyway.

I'm pretty sick to death of the whiney-ass spineless squid section of our population (mostly the entertainment world)  trying to get me to feel sorry for desert dirtbags like Osama Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein.

George bush vows to PROTECT his fellow Americans from Middle East terrorism showing it's ugly face on AMERICAN soil ever again, and he gets a chorus of boo's and hiss because.........?

Funny how the lyrics of their song I like, could be turned right back on THEM and others of their type, about all their p!ssing and moanin' and carrying on they do regarding political bullsh@#.

STEP DOWN dumbasses....nobody particularly cares!  ;)

Actually, Bush swore that he will do everything he can to harm America, it was a mistake, but he still did.

Anywho, the Democrats that I know aren't trying to make anyone feel sorry for Saddam or Binny nor are they against the War on Terror, but Bush's way of doing things is completely askewed and asinine, He is trying to get a kitten of of a tree by ramming his head into the base of the tree, You can protect America from Terrorism without taking away our rights and freedoms, his Patriot Act is the worse thing to happen to civil liberties ever. Did you know that with the Patriot act, a Police officer, can bust down your down, shoot your dog and then jack off in your wives panties, and excuse it all by saying he thought you were a spy for another country? Bush is an inept moron that isn't fit to lead, anyway, back to Terrorism, You can defend the country without destroying it, Bush can't but any person with an IQ higher then Jason's from Friday the 13th can.

I am 14 years-old, schizophrenic, morbidly obese, toy collector. and I can see Bush's many faults, it's just too bad that I won't be able to help out on election day.

Let's hope you don't get fused to your couch while sitting on it for years and playing with ML figures.

On second thought, let's hope you do. @loll@

  9. ...and so he became a lover to a millionare...

Hey! You can diss Nightwing all you want, but Batman is not gay! Yeah, I know they're not real people, but it hurts my heart to hear comments like that. :(

  10. That is great news that everything is all good. I mean we have another infamous scammer in ADC and was afraid this fella would get away like the guy at the TF forums. For those who visit the transformers section, you know who I am talkin about.

    Backlash_Ohio? @loll@

  11. Oh man, I can't wait 'til this moron gets busted! He scams people thinking "Free toys!" not realizing that there are ways of tracking him down and busting his ass! Serves you right for messing with the ADC Crew, jackass! #US1#

And one more thing, this guy infocussvt who has a thread in this forum looks suspicious. He could be the same guy (I_H_T) again. Not accusing him, but it looks familiar to what you guys have described.

  12. I don't think any other group could mix rap with metal nearly as well as Body Count.

Actually Body Count never "rapped" in any of their discs with a few exceptions on Violent Demise where they had guest spots by Raw Breed. They only got the "rap" thing cause of Ice-T. Other than that. "These f**kin' N***as played their rock Gee-Tar, There goes tha neighborhood"

Who ever labels BC as just another rap metal band needs to get their ear checked. Would a Rap-Metal band play at HellFest? Would a rap-metal band play alongside bands like Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under? I don't think so. Body Count is and still a METAL band.

After hearing bout D-Rocs passing it made me even more mad that I skipped out when Body Count headlined the second night of the Minneapolis HellFestival about a month or two back. @grumpy@

    Oh well, REST EASY D-ROC.

Whoa, calm down! I never said BC was just another rap/metal group! I just meant that they had elements of rap in their music, even though they were a metal group. I have heard a lot of BC's music in the past (not just the song "Cop Killer" either), and I thought it was pretty good. Made me appreciate metal more. But I've never been a huge metal fan, so I passed on their albums.

I realize they were a metal group and have listened to them. So Cha, if you thought I was just another ignorant rap fan, chill out! @loll@

  13. That sucks. First Rick James and now this. I don't think any other group could mix rap with metal nearly as well as Body Count. I didn't really know many of the members' names (besides Ice-T), but I always liked "that guy in the Jason mask". R.I.P.

  14. I don't hate the Anakin "switch" because it was "inaccurate" as to what age he became evil at. What I hate is the fact that they're splicing up the original trilogy so damn much! I agree that it's cool to make the Prequels accurate to the OT, but not vice versa! Leave the OT alone!

Another reason that I am unhappy with this change is the fact that Anakin did die back on the good side as an old man. Just because he was a scarred cyborg doesn't mean his spirit is going to have missing body parts and a scratched up, bald head. It's a spirit! Of course, it doesn't explain why the spirits still wear Jedi robes, but it's better than having naked guys running around! @loll@

And as for the earlier remark about people under 25 not seeing the OT, that's crazy. I'm 15 and I know several people who have seen them. Hell, I own the OT in a VHS box set. (From 1995, I believe.)

  15. hey peeps! a couple of friends and i were talking about what do we all consider when deciding on buying a new CD, especialy with new artist. how do you determine that you should take a chance spending $10 to $16 on that CD. what makes you think a CD will be worth the cash before you buy it?

for me it's a couple of things:

where the band or singer is from. especialy if it's a new artist you can kinda figure out the type of sound and flavor the album is going to have.

another thing, especialy with rappers, who they are down with. if their buds with somebody i like, most likely i'll like there album too. even if the album sucks atleast i know there homeboys i like will probably do a guest shot on a couple of tracks @lol@

which brings me to another thing i check out, i flip over the CD to see if they have any guest shots of anybody i know. also i don't like albums with too many guest appearances, i like an artist who can carry an album on there own.

as far as video and radio play, if i've heard atleast 2 songs of theirs that i really really love than i'll buy the album.

i also check there track record. if there last two albums sucked i'll probably pass on it ....or see rule up above.

so what do you go by when deciding to purchase a new CD?

That's pretty much what I do.
