    TRU's have reset

I picked mine up today. I got a few of wave 3 plus 1 Viper Lockdown set. We also got in a case of the Night Attack Humvees which I was not expecting. Here are some SKN numbers for upcoming products: Exclusive GI Joe 3.75 Bravo Vehicle SKN 262719 $16.99 (hitting stores now) Exclusive GI Joe 3.75 Comic Pack SKN 262851 $11.99 (none on order yet) Exclusive GI Joe Rolling Command Center SKN 262711 $49.99 (none on order yet) It is so nice to see these hitting stores again. It filled my heart with joy to put them on the pegs again. Shortly after we opened someone bought a couple of the singles. I hope they sell like crazy. TRU can once again be the savior of the line. BTW, I got mine at the Dayton Mall store in Miamisburg, OH.
  3. No, that's not me. I have always been Angelus on these boards. I don't post often. When I do it's usually TRU related.
  4. Tommy, so far no new SKNs for any vehicles. I will keep you posted but I am just stoked to be getting figures without paying for shipping.
  5. Been a long time since I posted but I'm back with this bit of news. While checking the computer today, I stumbled across a great little item. The 3.75" DTC Joe figures are now going to be a TRU Exclusive. Here is what I have so far: 3.75" Exclusive GI Joe Single Figure - Retail $5.99 - SKN 262886 - 8 per case 3.75" Exclusive GI Joe 6 Figure Pack - Retail $24.99 - SKN 262746 - 6 per case These are hitting the warehouses NOW! They should be in stores in 1-2 weeks! Excellent news people! Finally new product in brick & mortar stores again. Today is a happy day! Discuss
  6. Just to clear things up for all of you, this is not a sale going on in stores at all. The coupon code that you have is for people who got coupons sent to them from Providian Bank. The coupon is for $10 of a $30 purchase. However, the printers did not put a coupon barcode or a coupon SKN on the actual coupon. TRU corp sent out the SKN number to store managers in case someone brought in the coupon. Those of you getting the discount are getting very lucky because you are supposed to have the coupon with you. Please don't get upset at the associates who don't know what you are referring to because there is not a storewide sale. This is only a promotion for select Providian customers.
  7. The CG sets are shipping to TRUs right now. They should be in stores this week or next week at the latest. My store has them on their manifest for today.
  8. Here are the links: Ice Sabre Quick Stike They both have free shipping on them for a limited time. Tqo must have vehicles. Go get 'em!
  9. I'm a manager at TRU, not a buyer. I have no input into what they see or buy from Hasbro. Can't help you there at all. What I can do is continue to urge everyone to express their love of the line to TRU. This topic has really started to get off that subject. Go write letters and spread the word. Let's do what we can. If it doesn't work then at least we tried!
  10. Thought you would want to know that the Bravos, Alphas, and Comic packs are items we have already seen. Nothing new as far as I know. I just wanted people to have a general idea of how much TRU was ordering for the next 2-3 months.
  11. To ease everyone's worries, TRU will not be going under. Expect to see some store closings on some of the low volume underperforming stores. These stores will be closed and the real estate sold. As far as the others stores go, we are not going anywhere. TRU is still a profitable business and would be even more profitable if some stores would close and some stores would be relocated.
  12. That's a great idea. I will send that suggestion along. I know they have PR people that could go the the con. Great idea!
  13. As everyone is very well aware, our beloved 3 3/4" line and the 12" line is going on a "hiatus". Many people are upset and have given up all hope on GI Joe. My friends, all is not lost. We do have one hope in continuing the line. It is Toys "R" Us. Without going into details I can tell you for CERTAIN that TRU is very aware of the line ending at mass retail and that they would like to continue exclusive products. What does that mean? Well, right now it means that we will be seeing the product at TRU up through Christmas of this year and if all goes well, it will go on. What I need everyone to do that wants the 3 3/4" line to continue in one form or another is to let TRU know. I need EVERYONE to write TRU corporate and ask them to carry the line as an exclusive. I don't mean email them, contact them through the website, or go to TRU and tell a manager. I mean actually sit down and write a snail mail letter expressing your love and passion of the line. TRU needs to see how many of us love this line and how this line will be lucrative to them. Here are a few suggestions/guidelines: 1. The letters need to be express your passion for the line but at the same time be mature. No swearing or ranting. Remember, Hasbro is the one putting the line on hiatus, not TRU. 2. Use your real name, not a forum name. Real names have much more impact. 3. If you have kids that love GI Joe, have them sign your letter or better yet, help them write one of their own. TRU loves hearing from kids and Moms. 4. We should try to stay away from form letters. If it takes a form letter to get you to send one the we will, but one letter with a lot of different names doesn't have the same impact as a lot of different letters from potential customers. 5. Feel free to write more than one letter. Persistence will show that you really do care for the line and that are serious in your intentions. 6. Include your phone number in the letter. TRU does not sell phone numbers so don't worry. They may call you though to gather more information. To make the impact I think we need to make, I feel that we need to get 2000-3000 letters sent to TRU by the time the con roles around. Please don't be lazy and not write. Almost all of you post on these boards everyday. In the time it takes to do a few posts, you can have a decent letter ready. We also need all the lurkers to write as well. TRU IS aware of the line being put on hiatus. They DO have an interest in keeping it. It is now up to us people. If you don't do something about it, don't complain anymore. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. Wish us luck! Now for the addy: Toys "R" Us Inc. Headquarters One Geoffrey Way Wayne, NJ 07470-2030 *As a reminder, please be mature and positive in your letters. If you are going to be negative and #$##/moan then don't write. **I would like to remind everyone that this is a PLAN to save our line. I do not have "inside" info that I am not sharing. I simply feel that doing something to try to save the line is better than soing nothing. YO JOE! #US1# Mike
  14. Are Toys "R" Us' prices really that high or are places like Wal*Mart actually taking a loss on it's stuff by selling them so cheap because they can? It's like you own a small harware store. Across the street a HUGE mega-hardware store opens up selling it's stuff at cheap prices. You are then forced to raise the prices of your stuff just to remain profitable. Yes, they are pretty high. Here are some examples: GI Joe 2 packs: $7.99 (versus Walmart @ $4.77) Star Wars Vintage Packs: $13.99 online (versus $9.99 @ Target) We are talking about 40% and 29% price differences respectively. Since prices are on the low end, a difference of 3 bucks looks small but when seen in % form, it really drives it home. I am sure nobody wants to spend an extra 40% for the same product. Wal-Mart lowered their price because they are in a little war with Hasbro. The 2 packs cost retailers around $5.50 each. Wal-Mart is once again taking a loss because they can raise the price on other things in the store. The SW vintage packs are $9.99 in TRU stores....same as Target. Now let's look at the flip side. On Wal-Mart.com FX Duke is $19.99 but he is only $16.99 at TRU stores. TRU has their products at MSRP. Wal-Mart usually cuts their prices an average of 2 to 5 cents below TRU. If it's $9.99 at TRU it's usually $9.97 at WM. Sometimes they cut well below their own cost, then people think TRU has high prices. If TRU would go out of business Wal-Mart would not be "Rolling Back" anything in toys....they would be "raising up".

    Night Boomer

I have the Night Shade and the Night Striker. I got the Shade at retail and I recently bought the Night Striker for $90 complete which I thought was a steal for that hard to find vehicle. Like almost every hovercraft one of the vertical vanes have broken though.
