  1. I'm actually watching The Two Towers right now. I'm actually going backwards, I watched The Last King a couple of weeks ago and felt like throwing in TTT tonight. The last time I watched all three back to back to back was about nine months ago when I moved into my new apartment. I developed this weird tradition of watching all three LOTR films whenever I move into a new apartment. Well I gotta change to the second disc now...
  2. Here's a bunch of eighties toys redone for the new millennium posing together. I'll count this as part of a GI Joe collection, cause there's a coupla Joes in there.
  3. Killer Moth is a villain from the Batman line of comics, though I think he's appeared elsewhere. This particular paint scheme is reminiscent of his first costume. Later I think he actually turned into a moth (not sure if it's the same guy as the original). Thanks! And judging from his costume and colors, I'm gonna guess this guy's been around since the sixties, maybe seventies. The God awful color scheme and design scream of that campy time period.
  4. I stopped by Target and Wal Mart today and they hadn't gotten them in yet. Don't worry, I don't think they've really hit mass retail yet. Probably in the next few weeks we'll see these popping up everywhere.
  5. I am definitely gonna get that Hawkman, and maybe Shazam. I'm not a huge fan of the head though. And who the heck is Killer Moth(I'm a casual DC fan btw)?
  6. Thanks BrotherShane! Nice dramatic lighting JayC.
  7. While Guardian and Iron Man look good with the metallic paint and darker reds, I like the figures that were produced. Prototypes usually look better than the finished product because they're hand painted.
  8. Dude, I was totally thinking the same thing! I was actually thinking around issue 47 where Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow head to Cobra Island after learning that Zartan was the killer responsible for the death of their master and framing Storm Shadow for it. However now that you mention the sequence of events leading up to it, it's all good. Especially when Storm Shadow gets killed. I remember reading a friend's copy as a kid and thinking how heavy that was, essentially a cartoon character getting killed in cold blood, because up until that point I had only seen the cartoon.
  9. More pics! This shot recreates my favorite Joe issue of all time: #47. Sorry it's a little blurry.
  10. Special Mission with Duke, Gung Ho, Stalker, Clutch, Breaker, Short Fuse, Grand Slam, and Airborne in the APC. I just forgot to shoot a pic of it from the outside.
  11. Here are some more pics featuring Dreadnoks, Transformers team ups and more!
  12. Is he going to be Starscream's height or taller? He should be as tall as MP OP and Megs IMO. I guess if he is only as big as MP Starscream, he'll be in the proper scale with G1 figures.
  13. What's up ChrisFields, welcome to that boards! I live in upstate NY and have a good amount of Targets, Wal Marts, and a couple of TRU's to check and have varying luck all over. All the stores are pretty well stocked right now, and I don't there's much I couldn't find if I didn't take a full day driving all over. That's cool you live in Orlando, I used to live in Sarasota until four years ago. Again, there was a bunch of Wal-Marts, Targets, two TRU's, K-Marts, K-B's, you name it. I never really had a problem finding anything down there.
  14. I saw him for the first time today at Wal Mart and did a super pass. I can't believe they want $70 for this thing!! Nice presentation, but not worth it at that price.
  15. I love the new photos being shown, oh man I can't wait for this toy. I really hope Hasbro brings his over here for us in the US.
  16. Although I feel Hasbro knocked it out of the park in 2008, Toy Biz is still the first and best. When I sold my collection back in January of this year, I kept some of my favorites including all of series one of the Face Off two packs(still my 'go to' versions of Cap, Hulk, and DD) and Super Skrull. Let's not discount the great job Hasbro has done this year with BAF Fin Fang Foom, Wendigo is superb, we finally got Ronin(I am so surprised we didn't get him on TB's watch), Adam Warlock is an excellent figure. But what's all the speculation that Marvel Legends is done in 6" scale? They told us at SDCC that they were gonna do away with the BAF's and just release two packs. I personally hope they bring back the BAF's, they still need to make the Living Tribunal, Eternity, Thanos, Ego the Living Planet(d'ya think they'd ever do it???), and the list goes endlessly on.
  17. I really like this pic, I'd love to see other collections of old school Toy Biz. Great collection too!
  18. I really like that Mini CAT and could really see that as a toy.
  19. That sounds like a fair price, and actually sounds like his value fell over the last few months. The thing to watch out for is the cost of shipping. You might end up paying more for shipping to Malaysia than you paid for an actual item.
  20. I completely agree. Although I am a fan of the 25th anniversary figures, for me the old school is still the best. To abazou, welcome to the wonderful world of GI Joe. YoJoe.com is an awesome site for reference, but if you're looking for something else you have to check out a book called The Ultimate Guide to GI Joe by Mark Bellomo. It has pictures of every toy form 1982- 1994 plus exclusive info about the creation of the figures. As far as how to army build, just do whatever you want. One suggestion I can make is to buy in bulk. Search on Ebay or Craigslist for people selling their collections, and look for deals when possible. You might have to save for awhile before you can make a larger purchase, but paying $4-$5 a figure is better than $7-$8.

    Know Your Joe!

Well for the cartoon it'd be Sparks, who was the Joe's other radio guy. In the comics I'd haveta say Cool Breeze from issue 111-ish and maybe stretch it and say Mangler, who was introduced and killed in an issue of Special Missions. I don't count him though because he never had a costume or anything. No costume=no Joe LOL.
  22. Y'know there is a whole thread dedicated to GI Joe auctions that make you go WTF! http://forums.toynewsi.com/index.php?showtopic=2027231

    Know Your Joe!

Their names...Tom, Dick, and Harry, and their last names, Winken, Blinken (Smythe), and Nod. Duhhh, I totally missed Tom, Dick, and Harry. And I just typed it out too. Good job Rule! Here's one: This GI Joe's real name is Eric Freistadt, and was one of the original thirteen Joe's.
