  1. Alright it's time for me to add my two cents. First, as we all know, SMC is a kid driven line and therefore needs to include crappy action features. Some are done well like Spider-Hulk(the action feature kinda reminds me of Super Power's days), and others are done crappily(is that a word). While both the Shocker and Electro have action features in their arms, hindering them; I feel that their sculpting keeps them up there with the rest. The work put into these two is well executed and brings a level of mature sculpting that I'd like to expect out of every ML. Sure the Sinister Six Electro had articulated arms, but it used a very basic body type. The level of detail in the new one is fantastic! The fact that the costume is sculpted onto the toy instead of painted on says alot. The head sculpts are a world of difference too. SS Electro has a 'happy' face as opposed to the SMC version, which looks like a guy who could blow open a hole in the super villian prison 'The Raft'(New Avengers #1). YES, the action feature sucks B@ll$, but I really think everything else put into it makes up for it. Plus for $4.99, ya can't go wrong! As for Shocker, the stoopid grey missles are pointless, but the vibrating feature is a solid attempt...plus your girlfriend will love it! JK! No but seriously, get 'em both, ya won't regret the artistic level brought to the table by Toy Biz.
  2. Sorry dude but my geekness is stronger than yours. Not only did I know every single character released but I could have written their character bios. That's so funny, I was thinking the same thing. Not to be a snob or anything, but I am such a Marvel Zombie it's ridiculous. It's nice though that people are discovering these awesome characters for the first time.
  3. I can relate to that notion. It's not just happiness that I finally got the figure, but also the thrill of the hunt. Especially with a HTF figure. As a collector I almost see it as a status symbol, giving validation to my collection. Although I don't have any real collecting friends, I'm always reading these boards and find contentment in owning a new HTF toy while everyone else is still looking. And it does suck when you get the rare figure and then they become common shortly after. A few months ago, I broke down and bought a ML Scarlet Witch off of Ebay for about $15 b/c I couldn't find her in stores. Sure enough before I even received her in the mail I started seeing her in stores. And then it got to be where seeing her was a common occurance.
  4. Hey kinda like when the Vampirella action figure was packaged backwards with her @$$ starin' at you. Ya gotta love the marketing.
  5. We desperately need some freakin' Thunderbolts already! When ML first came out, the package had a T-Bolt along with the Avengers "A", Daredevil's "DD", FF's "4", and so on. We got the Beetle, but that counts as half(that representation didn't show up until issue 31 or something), the variant Cap'n Marvel counts as half as well as he was part of the second volume of the comic. Howzabout some sweet 2-packs of the original T-Bolts with their villanous alter-egos. Mach-1 and the Beetle, Songbird and Screaming Mimi, Citizden V and Baron Zemo. They could even do a BAF of Atlas with variant pieces of Goliath...or whatever the heck his super villian name was. Anyways, I'd love to see it and I know most of you would as well!
  6. I just found the House of M box set at TRU yesterday. Now if I can just get those pesky wave 15 variants.
  7. Yar, ye've found buried treasure! LOL. I have the Modok wave, but no variants. The Toys R Us I went to today had three cases, but all had been gone through and picked clean. Nice score!
  8. I live in Saratoga, about forty minutes north of Albany.
  9. Hi everybody! I'm the new guy here. I've been reading these posts for a while, and want to give my two cents. I'd love to see Jim Lee Prof X and Jean Grey, that should take care of the 90's X-Men. I'd like to see a Black Knight boxed set with his mighty steed Aragorn. I'd really like to see a boxed set for the Guardians of the Galaxy from their 90's release. I've always had a thing for them. But what I'd REALLY like to see is a boxed set of re-releases featuring Kang and Dragon Man(I NEED them), Absorbing man with a human arm as well as the rest, and striped prison pants he usually wears, and lastly Toy Biz/Hasbro could use a pre-existing mold to make an exclusive villian. Someone random...Crossbones or the Controller would be cool!
  10. Hey everybody, this is my first time posting so I'm not really sure how this works, but here goes! Two days ago I ran to Wal Mart after work and of course made a beeline to the action figure aisle. I didn't get my hopes up but was pleasantly suprised when all three of the new Face-Off series was on the shelves. They had one of each left, so I grabbed them up. The paint jobs were a little sloppy so I asked if they had any more and they said a new batch was coming in Thursday night. Fortunately I didn't have to wait that long. Last night I took a run to my local Toys R Us to see about the House of M boxed set, and what do I see, but the Face-Off series 2 figures at TRU. The paint jobs on these were almost perfect, so I got them and will return the other ones. I couldn't believe it! Twice in two days. Also some other toy finds in my area: Classics Jetfire a week ago(awesome toy, buy one), Mace Windu's Attack Battalion two days ago, ML Onslaught series variants(all three) two days ago, Modok wave I've seen a number of times over the last month(no variants though...d'oh), and Sigma Six Zartan and Lt Stone. Just want everyone to know what's out there. So this is my first time posting, I hope I did it right. Happy Hunting!
