  1. My choices would be a Valiant themed wave: 1. X-O Manowar 2. Solar Man of the Atom 3. Magnus Robot Fighter 4. Rai 5. A Spider-Alien 6. Shadowman BAF- A Bionisaur from the Unity series
  2. Just found Torture Rack Han and General McQuarrie at a Wal-Mart during an early morning toy run. Some new Legends (Biker Scout wave) and then those two.
  3. Just did a mdnight toy run to a Wal Mart in upstate NY where they had just restocked with some wave 4 and Saga Legends figures. I missed the concept Vader and some UGH figures, but managed to grab Darktrooper, Imperial Officer, orange pauldron Sandtrooper, and a Clone Commander. The guy working also told me tha they were expecting alot of cases in a week or two.
  4. Did a midnight run to WalMart and found the FF wave, Spider man wave, and the X-Force 2 packs! The 2 packs were fair game, but he said he wasn't allowed to put the other waves out on the floor yet.
  5. Pics-lol! I found wave 2 at two Targets in upstate NY last Friday, and have been making serious toy runs within a fifty mile distance. Wave three looks to be an incredibly strong wave.
  6. I would love to see Marvel get the GI Joe license again, partially for the same reason I want the 25th Anniversary action figures to look exactly like their vintage counterparts: nostalgia. Marvel and more importantly Larry Hama, created an in-depth and complex story with convincing plotlines spanning countless issues. Characters were established in one or two word balloons, and it never came off as forced. Make Mine Marvel!
  7. Y'know I kinda feel the same way. Hasbro has inadvertantly picked the perfect five for a live action GI Joe live action movie!
  8. Y'know I know it sounds crazy, but I still think the vintage Power of the Force Anakin Skywalker figure is the best. Great sculpt and not that expensive to get on Ebay. Other than that, the Evolutions are def the best. and if anyone missed the Evolutions sets, both Anakins were released in the collector's tin sets, and if that's not enough Hasbro will be re-releasing the Evolutions sets soon.
  9. What is the thought process that goes into adding articulation to an action figure? The Luke Skywalker figure from the Luke/Mara comic pack has ball jointed ankles, but is missing articulation in his knees. If certain figures only get so many points, why would it be placed on a joint that would be better spent elsewhere? Boy I hope when you make a super articulated Yakface, he has ball joints on his knees AND ankles! And head, and shoulders, and elbows, and......
  10. I'm just glad I can pass over these w/o any sort of collector's regret. The ROTJ set looks nice, even though I have every figure in it.
  11. Oh man, am I excited for this battle pack! I love the fact that it's an entire scene all packed together. Now I assume that the Rebel Gun Turret is on some sort of cardboard stand, but that would be great if Hasbro included a plastic base for it. Battle Packs could be a great way for Hasbro to do playsets or environment pieces.
  12. No kidding! I paid $29.99, what's up with the price hike?!
  13. I just found one on Thursday in upstate NY (the Y-Wing's been out for two weeks here), but man is it expensive! How is it that a Y-Wing and two figures is less expensive than a Tie Interceptor with one pilot? It's still freakin' sweet though!
  14. I still have to see wave 4 and 5 in upstate NY, although I did find a severely crushed M'iiyoom Onith at a WalMart the other day. Unfortunately, the WalMart closest to me has restocked a floor to ceiling end cap unit of TAC series 1-3. Grrrr!
  15. I remeber seeing these figures in some random photos of SDCC, but they haven't been promoted otherwise. To me this series is a bunch of "who the hell is this guy?". They look cool, but who are they (I mean that both rhetorically and literally)...seriously, who are these guys? With that in mind, I wonder how long this line will last if people don't know the characters. Although I'd like to see some Valiant/ Acclaim figures in a bad way! I actually just picked up the first series, and they are really good, I gotta admit. Pitt is AWESOME!!! It seems some quality control issues like stuck joints have been addressed as well. They're not perfect, but they are close!
  16. Just picked up series 2 comic packs today. I opened the Luke and Mara, and they're pretty sweet. One bad thing is that Luke has articulated ankles, but not articulated knees. Kinda pointless to me.
  17. Found the whole wave of single packs today at a KMart about twenty minutes from my house! Yay! I called the store to hold them, and the employee even snagged me the black Timber variant!
  18. My first Joes were either birthday or Christmas of '82, I just remeber them being presents. I was big on Star Wars and got FX-7, but then I remeber getting new army figures! Cool army guys beat out boring robot, so that was that. Zap ended up in the toilet, I still have Rock N Roll, and who knows about the rest. As far as seeing them with an objective eye, keep in mind that in 1982, action figures scaled at 3 3/4 inches didn't have a large range of movement, GI Joe changed that. They were detailed enough, but I'm also from the school of: if you can do it better, then do it! Except the wrists on the new Duke/Flint...I don't know who said that was a good idea?!
  19. Let's get a link, I totally had a thing for her watching Charles in Charge! Also GI Joe was featured the 1986 movie The Boy Who Could Fly. Fred Savage played a kid brother with what I remember to be a sweet GI Joe setup in his backyard.
  20. After seeing Hi Res pics of TAC series 6 and 7, will Han Solo's (Bespin Torture Rack) belt and gun holster be included? Also, figures like Han Solo and the A-Wing Pilot seem misproportioned in the shoulders and neck, respectively. Is this something that will be able to be fixed before production? Great job Hasbro, the 30th Anniversary Collection has gotten me back into collecting Star Wars figures!
  21. Great reveiw as always White Wolf! Great close up pics and i love the shot of everybody in front of the Sandcrawler. I thought it was a little harsh to say that all the modern Jawas were garbage though. You might not have liked them, but they are good action figures in terms of sculpting, proportion, paint applications, and accessories. One last thing, the TAC Jawa DOES have his droid caller included. It's a tiny piece (I think it's a re-colored Garindan comlink) that could have fallen out of his hand when you opened the package. I'll put up a pic tomorrow. Until then, keep up the good work!
  22. I like this figure a lot! It's cool to see great sculpt based on a peripheral character who saw some action in the comic series Star Wars: Empire (great art and story). And was it in the 1998 Star Wars: Magic of Myth CD ROM that had Biggs' deleted scenes? I woulda loved to have seen articulated knees, but no big deal.
  23. Thanks WhiteWolf! Besides the two different skin tones, it'll work.
  24. Great review WhiteWolf, I was feeling the same way about Luke! It's a lot better out of the package, and the nice thing about the ball jointed heads is you can switch them around. Would you please post a pic of this Luke with a VOTC head? Also, off topic, I found that switching Dagobah Luke's OTC head with the new VTSC Bespin Luke makes him look sooo much better. The OTC head was a little big, so I put a small piece of paper in there to make it fit.
  25. My KB Toys in upstate NY has had them, and been restocking them for about a month and a half. Nobody's buying them though cause they're $11.99 each. Way taxed! Fortunately KB has this $5 off coupon they're doing, so I'm able to get the series for about $7.50 a figure. Just like the old days with Toy Biz! I also have been picking up series 2 of the new Star Wars figures for $2.13 each (with the coupon)...FYI!
