  1. I think if this was a different year, the reaction would be more positive. Of all the years to try something new, the big 50th wasn't the year. I know of some of you dislike zombies but they have been part of the mythos since Rah days. Granted the "bad" rah days, but I don't mind them. If i had the $ and they looked good I'd get the set.
  2. very odd. I won't be able to make it or even purchase home front heroes this year. It so unds like i won't miss much though. T'JBang with zombies? Steel Brigrade Commander treated as a standard character? I feel like the side items this year could include Steel Brigade soldiers, and gen hawk himself.
  3. For more info on the potential comics check out YOJOE.COM, specifically HERE. not specifically Joe, but it features the rock so why not?
  4. Mainly just Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. They're pretty much all about a half head taller than their 25th predecessor. Do they still work with them? I think it depends on how you display them. If you're going to just stand them all up straight, standing on their stands in a long neat row, yeah, it might be noticeable, but still, it's not like every single character is the same height anyway. If you have them mixed around in a setting, or diorama, then they're not really as noticeable.. again, I think it's up to you. To be honest, I personally feel that after RoC, they improved on their figure sculpts big time and it's almost a sin to display some of the 25th figures next to the newer PoC, 30th or even the Retaliation(and Ultimate) figures, lol. Oh well, guess I'll skip 'em then. I've already got great versions of all three, so if these "Ultimates" can't fill those spaces seamlessly, I can afford to take a pass. BTW: When you say "all," does that include Kwinn to? Kwinn doesn't seem as bad, but you owe it to yourself and all Joe fans and especially those on the Hasbro Joe team like Deryl Depriest that snuck in this jem of a figure into the movie line, no less. lol. I remember talking to him at Joecon and asked how it happened and he said that he knew the fans wanted him made, he wanted him made, so when it was time to submit the figures for the wave to be approved, he threw him in there, not knowing what to expect and sure enough, he was approved. Absolutely! I don't care if Kwinn is out of scale or not, he's a "must-buy" no matter what. Thanks for the heads up. I'd suggest Duke too, with the spare head he can be a different trooper entirely and is cool enough to have in your collection as maybe a desert steel brigade at the least. Drone is pretty cool too.
  5. I'm really hoping with Night Viper's demand we see him repackaged in a future a line, maybe with that movie ninja trooper's spare helm as a lot of folks are using it on him.
  6. some good old fashioned deep discussion going on in here! It's ultimatly very true Jamcq1 said, we live in a nerd bubble. I do think the success of movies like this point to a large growth in that bubble, but I also think you would be crazy to the public really knew the full details of the "real" Mandarin. Bottom line for me is that it's done. Reversing it now (and via a short) is only confusing to the Marvel Cinematic U, making more casual fans scratch their heads, and waste a valuable slot that could be used to prop Guardians of the Galaxy more or Ant-man one of the movies who may need a little more push.
  7. I gave it a shot on the Nick Toons app for the 360 and was stunned. I didn't like much that i had heard about the series but i can't deny it feels like the best of both worlds. It's not as dark as the 2K one which I prefer, but It's so well written and I think my son will appreciate this one much sooner than he would the 2k one. Consider me a former hater (well really skeptic ) converted to fan.
  8. There is something about the 12 " version that looks more Christmassy than crimson. even with this, i stay impressed with Sideshow's quality.
  9. I agree with Lady Jaye, I can't recall seeing one in the shipping box. pretty darn neat.
  10. I think those who scream for 6" Joes are a very vocal minority. You have to realize most collector's don't even hit forums anymore. It's adult collector's of super heroes that love that scale. Now will they ultimately stop making 3 3/4 " figures? Well they kinda have as the new ones are 4" but I know what you meant. One day, yeah probably. I'd say Joes best chances are that it could end up being imaginext scale and much more kid friendly, unless Hasbro really gets their act together.
  11. I really have no love the character, but it's a well made piece for sure. Even though an exclusive vehicle is out of my price range I think a lot of people will eat this up. He certainly looks way better than Iceberg I honestly feel that the Iceberg was so bad they should at least ship everyone a replacement head.
  12. although I've always been a 3 3/4 " scale guy, I honestly find this figure more appealing, it goes back further into Joes roots, and proudly displays that 50th Logo making it a clear collector's piece. Still on the fence about joining again but if I do, I think i'll actually grab this guy.
  13. We could have seen real G.I.Joe in the first one in some form or another, but Hasbro declined because theyw anted to have Sid blow them up I don't have cable so I'll miss the special, but i'm sure i'll catch it at some point.
  14. received mine today and they were even more flimsy feeling that i thought, still look nice though. I used rev, but i'm still a little disappointed i could fit my son's full name in their though or i would have made one for him. After i sent it in I realized I could have spaced it out as name: Avery Joe then code name Sears and it would fit, even thought about trying to get another one to get one for him too.
  15. I think the writing was lacking in Retaliation, they missed chances to close plot holes and stormshadows turn was a confusing mess for anyone not familiar with the property. Chu was probably responsible (at least in part) for some of the choppiness although the action cut was much better, but i have seen people lob other things at him plot wise that likely belong to that last pair writers. With Chu's vision and a better script i have hopes for number 3.
  16. try to not to get rid of your favorites, or anything you might regret later, you never know, something may suck you back in. Real life has been keeping me insanely busy as of late, we all go through phases with our hobbies. Sorry to hear that Mr. Nobody, while I don't have to for the sake of survival, i am selling some of my things I didn't want to get rid of like my 2013 con Lady Jaye, sometimes you just have to put real life over Joes, it's not fun though.
  17. This looks cool, what is it?
  18. Yeah, if I were to pass on anything in this wave it would be the CG. While not terrible, I don't think it improves on the 25th version that much. It bugs how the new one still looks way too skinny which is what I liked least about the old one. if only they went with the Night Viper here! and packed in the ray stevenson head with that firefly then I woiuldn't be able to ignore any, aside from that scrawny SE, everytime i look at that Letal and Frag viper i got from Con i get dissapointed.
  19. I was hopeful clam but as time passed my doubt keeps growing.
  20. really enjoyed the last one, especially the ninja force commercial footage. i think your luchadore (sp?) theory is right on the money.
  21. I've enjoyed following the material as it's been posted. Wasn't aware their was a cry for likes, does that kind of stuff work?
  22. I'll be having to hold out for Blu Ray, me and the wife love the show but sadly, no cable. We wouldn't use it but for a hand full of shows so we just wait and buy em or netflix em. I've always loved Sphinx, this and Doctor Who are hard waits for me!
  23. The Pilot for Full Force, the Action Force focused spin off of WOJM is up. Great listen so far and Dave Tree was a great guy when I met him at con.
  24. Can't pre-order just yet, Hoping to unload some stuff i don't want to have the cash to grab these. No massive dudes in thsi wave, but i can still pass on the crimson Gaurd at least.
  25. The hound was high on my guess list, but with the modern poc/movie vamp, Trying to get the set through a friend, but i don't want the vehicles, That baroness, ravage and especially Bludgeon are excellent though.
