  12. Last night Hasbro's Pulse website went a little crazy. Basically it appeared one of the site's web developers screwed up and made pages normally only visible to them, accessible to everyone. These are often pages used by web developers to test out various functions and looks for the site. So with this we saw a number of strange things like some kind of section for "6" Selfie Action Figure Line", an image of an old Kenner X-Wing and a Haslab listing for a Star Wars Black Series ForceFX Lightsaber for Reva (The Third Sister). Now being this is something from the new Obi-Wan Disney+ series, it makes sense Hasbro would do this as a new product, but making it a Haslab item is somewhat odd to me. The item was said to have progressive ignition, blaster deflect, battle clash, coordinated attack technology in the hilt and blades as well as removable blades and display stand. The price was $499.99 and would require a minimum of 5k backers. Most FX Lightsabers from Hasbro costs around $279.99. Of course this one looks like it combines 2 blades so basically the $500 is likely reflecting essentially two lightsabers being offered as one. Its possible the higher $500 price may have scared off regular retail interest in this item causing Hasbro to offer it through Haslab, but Hasbro has released other double-bladed lightsabers at regular retail in the past. The fact this was listed in the developer section of the site along with number of other crazy things, its hard to say if this is really going to be a Haslab item or not. With Star Wars Celebration starting today, if this is the next Hasbro Star Wars Haslab, we will likely be getting the official details soon and if real the campaign looks like will officially kick on on Friday.
  13. The idea itself of putting people's likeness on a figure isnt far fetched but making it something mass released is where I find it hard to think is possible. How would you release at regular retail figures with your likeness on it? I could see if this was something they did at say a convention but a general release just doesnt seem doable to me.
  14. I am not entirely sure what to make of this strange section that temporarily appeared on the HasbroPulse website called the Selfie Section. From the looks of it, these appeared to be figures from Hasbro's various 6" lines (Star Wars Black Series, GIJoe Classified, Power Rangers Lightning Collection, Ghostbuster Plasma Collection and Marvel Legends) where you could have a headsculpt with your own likeness put on the figures. Each one was listed with a price of $60 each. The section was discovered under a developer link on the site which was accessible via Google. Just do a Google search for Hasbro Selfie Series for it to come up. What's not clear is whether this is something Hasbro is actually planning on doing or if they were just testing out something on the website. The actual Selfie section now appears to have been removed but they had a number of figures listed for the various brands including some that even indicated they were going to be store exclusives to Best Buy and Walgreens. Each listing had a figure body with a generic headsculpt on it. I am not even sure how Hasbro could pull such a thing off which makes me lean towards this not being an actual product they plan to release, but who knows. If or when more details become available we will be sure to update you here.
