  1. I imagine it depends on the figure. I did it for a friend one. Just use a tiny screwdriver or something similar, push the pin out after boiling the hand to soften the plastic, and when it's still hot turn the hand around and push the pin back in.
  2. Her hand was on upside down? Can't you just remove the pin, turn the hand around, and put the pin back in? As for the weirdly positioned arm -- have you tried heating the plastic and then trying to get it into the correct position?
  3. I'm in Canada - I'd be willing to look around for any Giant Man wave figures anyone might still need down in the states for cost + shipping. Just drop me a PM with what you need and I'll keep my eyes open.
  4. Why? You can get him on the trade boards, no doubt. Hell, I know a place where I can still get him for 5 bucks plus shipping in his yellow/beardless version.
  5. But most recognizable 'female' character does not equate to 'most recognizable character in general.' I guarantee you that nine out of ten people unfamiliar with comics will recognize Wolverine, and won't recognize Elektra -- unless they happened to see the movie. And even then, ML Elektra looks nothing like movie Elektra, so the chances of that are even pretty slim. The only -really- recognizable comic female I can think of is Wonder Woman. Pretty much everyone knows who she is. Besides her, most 'female character' recognition is based on whatever movie has been out recently. Sure, everyone here knows who Elektra is, but I guarantee my 50-year-old father doesn't have the foggiest clue, except maybe to say "that really hot broad with the big rack in that movie?" And yes, my father talks like that.
  6. It was a little joke they played on us. As was mentioned already - Sentry was recently created, and they sort of back-storied him into the MU to explain him. Part of that backpeddling was saying that Stan Lee created him a long time ago. They even released an old-style comic of him to 'prove it.' But yes, it was a hoax, of sorts. I'm doing something similar. No trunks, but I'm fleshing his hands, giving him a slightly more 'golden' paint job and sculping some long hair. Great minds. But I agree, it's not a significant enough difference to warrant a new figure. At least, not this soon. It would have made a great variant, though. Hasbro is already demonstrating that there will be more Hulks, Wolvies, and Spideys. Whether anyone likes it or not - those figures help sell waves. They're recognizable to even casual MU fans, and to parents. It was no different when I was a kid. If my mother went to the store right now and saw every ML ever produced on the shelves, she'd recognize Wolvie, Spidey, and Hulk -- and maybe 10% of the other characters, if that. All ML fans probably just need to resign themselves to the fact that we will -never- stop seeing Wolverines, Hulks, and Spider-Mans for as long as ML lasts. Agreed completely. I'd be all over a battle damaged wave. I always liked those figures when I was young -- but the only ones I really remember getting that treatment were Wolverine and Spider-Man. I doubt we'd ever see it as an entire wave, though. There's few better ways to piss off ML collectors than to give them a brand new character, but have the only version of him be 'battle-damaged.' So we're more likely, if ever, to see a few battle-damaged characters scattered throughout various waves, rather than as a theme wave, because I doubt even Hasbro would be willing to make an entire ML wave of rehashed characters in 'battle-damaged' style. Still, I'm for it. Battle-damaged Iron Man and Wolverine would be at the top of my wanted list. But I'm not holding my breath on that one.
  7. Congratulations, Draven. Nice little haul. I'm going to start checking WalMart up here every once in awhile for stuff they may have been sitting on for awhile now. That said. . . I don't think TB has any stock. Isn't that one of the issues they've always had? They don't have warehouses -- their stuff is made to order. If their stuff is suddenly appearing in greater numbers, it's more than likely that it's stuff that store has been sitting on, and is now putting out for two reasons: Christmas season, and the impending Hasbro takeover of the license. I imagine plenty of stores would like to avoid any confusion not only in their system, but in their customers, by getting rid of as much TB Marvel stuff as they can before putting out Hasbro Marvel stuff. I could be mistaken though.
  8. I'll add my voice to the "why would they want to do that?" group. Likewise, I agree with the 'how much more modern can he get' question. I mean, he only just recently appeared in the MU. To my knowledge he hasn't gone through any drastic costume changes.
  9. That's interesting. I use Citadel paints as well, for much the same reasons. But I've found that Citadel paints aren't totally rub-proof. Do you just set your customs aside and say 'forget about touching them' -- or do you give them a coat with something - like Testor's Dullcote?
  10. An actor. He's done live action stuff, as well as the voices for various characters in the following: G.I. Joe: Valor vs. Venom Inuyasha Bionicle movies Transformers: Cybertron Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Max Steel: Forces of Nature X-Men Evolution Reboot He-Man and the Masters of the Universe The guy is seriously all over the place. His list of credentials for voice acting is as long as my arm. He's also appeared in two episodes of Stargate SG-1.
  11. Ditto. Actually, the X-Men: The Animated Series voices are so ingrained in me as the definitive 'sound' for those characters, that I tend to reject any change to them. For instance, I was hugely annoyed at the actor who they chose for Juggernaut in X3 -- just didn't "sound" like Juggernaut to me, and so took me out of the film. Same for many of the characters. To me, Dodd, Sealy-Smith, and Potter are the quintessential and only viable voices for Wolverine, Storm, and Gambit respectively. If I'm not mistaken, many people agree, since Dodd has done the voice for Wolverine in the X-Men Animated Series, Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects, X-Men: Mutant Academy, Marvel vs. Capcom 1 & 2, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes, and X-Men: Children of the Atom. Though I have to admit, I didn't hate Blum's voice for Wolverine in X-Men Legends. Anyway, went off on a sort of rant there. Like I said, I associate all possible characters, first and foremost, with their Animated Series voices. If none is available, I guess my mind sort of filters through all the voices I can remember and picks one that seems most reasonable. Shatterstar totally sounds like Jeremy Irons.
  12. They're not cancelled. eBay cancelled the seller's -other- auctions. They were removed from the site, and he re-listed them this past Sunday. That's what he is talking about concerning the cancellation of his auctions.
  13. I brought this up on Fwoosh some days ago: http://www.fwooshnet.com/forum/viewtopic.p...60&start=60 As I stated there, some people are just friggin' ##$%$#ed. And when they have a 200 dollar two-pack that everyone else is paying 20 dollars for, they'll have no one to blame but themselves.
  14. Gorgeous. Now that's the Cyclops I need for my '90s X-Men display. Great work. Edit: Removed question. Checked your site for the details I was curious about. I kinda like it. It reminds me of the artistic style sometimes used in the animated series.
  15. That's absurd. He IS a toy store. Toys R' Us is a toy store as well, and they don't sell ML figures for 30 dollars as a relatively 'standard' price point. And no, when a person walks into your store and asks for a variant, you don't -have- to have it in stock. You have in stock, whatever you have in stock. Do you walk into a store expecting them to always have everything you want? No. The world isn't that kind. And I'm not saying give away product for nothing. I'm saying sell your items for fair prices, or you can seriously kiss my ass, because that's as close to my wallet as you're ever going to get. I don't respect ANY store that sells any ML figure for 100 dollars. That's scalper prices. Half of the figures he has on his site I can get for half the price, including shipping, on eBay. He's scalping MLs, in my opinion. Truly, if he were selling really old, rare ML figures for those prices, I'd say okay -- he's probably just trying to make a return because he paid a lot to get the figure into his store. But he has a lot of figures that -aren't- hard to find, for ridiculous prices. In my opinion, he's a scalper or close to it. You want to shop there, go ahead man. I'm not saying you shouldn't. I'm just saying -I- don't shop anywhere that feels obliged to have prices like that.
  16. Because she looks like she's wearing a diaper? Not really interested in this wave. Even if the figures were stellar quality (which they aren't), I'm just not a fan of the character selection. I'll probably get Banshee and fix him up with a collar and such. Need him for my X-team. S'about it for me. Don't care overmuch about the BAF either. I do, however, like the packaging. I think it looks good, and I applaud any effort to make them more 'eye-catching' to youngsters. Collector's line or not, kids buying them will only increase Hasbro's profits and so allow them to make more figures. And that's what we all want. But I'm not a MOSC collector, so what do I know.
  17. Don't know the story arc in question, but yes. Hasbro aquired all the molds and everything. They can re-use whatever they want. Notice that Wave 1 Planet Hulk is a re-paint of the TB War Hulk body.
  18. Technically. . no. There's Metroplis, as you pointed out Deathlok. But that's in Edmonton proper, and I'm in Sherwood Park. But rightly, it's pretty close to me anyway. Never been there, and don't plan to ever bother. Their prices on Marvel Legends figures suck.

Oh, duh! Sorry. Completely forgot about Lady Deathstrike. Still a good score, man.
  20. What would you consider an 'in scale' Hulk? I've gone through a lot of comics and his size changes in practically every frame of every comic. Hell, even the Icons Hulk is 'in scale' with ML, according to some of the comics out there. In my opinion, Face-Off Hulk is pretty much perfect. Could stand to be a half-inch taller, but that's not a deal-breaker to me, for that particular character.
  21. The Sasquatch isn't even a very good -Sasquatch-, let alone a Wendigo. Not to mention the White Sasquatch doesn't even look like Wendigo. Wendigo probably should not be a regular figure, because it's big. It should be about 9-1/2 to 10 inches tall. Tell me how they will fit that into a normal ML package. Wendigo would make a very good smaller-size BAF. And this goes back to not buying into the whole 'A BAF shouldn't be a BAF unless it's 20 inches tall' stuff that's floating around. Wendigo is too big for normal packaging and thus, would make a great BAF. I mean, I wouldn't be OPPOSED to seeing it in normal ML packaging, if they could find a way to fit it in and still have it be the right size. Sasquatch should have been a BAF as well, in my opinion. The figure we got of him wasn't very good, nor was it big enough (this is what Sassy should have looked like).
  22. I was just talking about this on Fwoosh. I'd very much like to see a 10-inch Wendigo BAF. Would look great with Face-Off Hulk and the new First Appearance Wolverine.

. . Deathstrike? Do you mean Deathlok? Peg-warmer or not, I like him and that's a great price. Congrats, man.
  24. Nah. Not that I've seen, at least. Best we have is a WalMart that almost never bothers to restock. It wouldn't matter if it -WAS- a great deal. Read Amazon.com's policies. They do not send Toys out of the country. Only music, DVDs, and books. And Amazon.ca doesn't sell toys.
  25. I'm in the Edmonton area as well (Sherwood Park). Which TRU did you go to, Deathlok?
