  1. I had a dream about this. They annouced at the con that the show was going to start coming back on CN from where it left off, and they were going to continue the toy line from where it left off too. Then I woke up.

Now I can just hope that whatever they say at the con will end up being very good news...

That would be the coolest news from Mattel, but I am afraid that they are going to scrap the '02 line and start anew with designs like the one from the SDCC last year. I can see myself buying the bad guys from that line to put up against my '02 He-Man and the Masters. If they do decide to create a more advanced version of the 02 line with more joints, I am so going to be broke. I guess I don't need two kidneys.

  2. After what we saw at the New York Toy fair, these past few weeks have left me in a daze. I am so psyched about the new Bat, Vehicles (especially the Trouble Bubble), and these entertainment battle packs. But, it just seems like we should have some news by now about the next few waves after wave 8. All we have so far are lists from Wal-Mart and Target spies but no confirmations or pictures (other than the new Bat). I just keep thinking about what I would really like from GI Joe this time around and I would just like to voice my wants or at least wishes for future GI Joe.

Also, I would really likes to see some releases of additional classics that many of us have stated in prior forums of 25th wants. We need a Mutt and Junkyard. They were a strong part of my Joe team as a kid and I would love to see them in 25th style. Also, we need an Alpine. If we are getting a Bazooka we need his good buddy Alpine. I would really love to see a Ripcord, one of my most favorite Joes in the 80s. I loved to play like he was dropping in behind enemy lines and taking out a platoon of vipers for the other Joes to advance. I would also like to see a Recondo figure. He was so cool to me as a kid. Here was this guy that could go into the jungle and take out a group of Cobra and come out of the Jungle unscathed. Another one of my favorites was Blowtorch. I loved the colors of the original and he was always interesting to me, especially with his Blowtorch. I hope that they remake Storm Shadow v2. The one that was made is pretty cool, but he is missing his pouch belt around his waist, his compound bow with the scope, bamboo leggings on his shins, his long baggy sleeves, and needs the wrappings around his wrist removed so that we can see his Clan tattoo.

For the Cobras, I would love to see a classic version of Croc Master. He was always so evil looking to me. I always teamed him up with Copperhead and they took on the Joes with just the moccasin and Croc Master’s crocs. Yes, I want a Water Moccasin vehicle for my Copperhead figure, but that will be another thread. Doctor Mindbender is another figure I would like to see re-made. Not because he was a favorite, but because he was an essential character to the mythos of Serpentor. I really hope that somewhere down the line we get Torch and Ripper in single packs. The comic pack is sweet, but these figures deserve a single carded release just as much as the 5 packs that were released in singles in wave 4. I hope to see more Dreadnoks just the original 4. We need a Monkey Wrench, Zarana and Zandar. I would love to get another Zanzibar with the air skiff or Trasher with the Thunder Machine. We also need more vipers, night vipers, frag vipers, heat vipers, flak vipers and any other viper that I may have missed. We need Metal-Head, Big Boa, Raptor and Crystal ball. Okay I am now getting carried away, but these new GI Joes are just so cool. And for Hasbro to leave any figure out of the developmental loop is just wrong.

I know that they are not planning on making all of the original figures because they want to encourage customizing. But why not create a Customizing kit. I would love to get a kit to create an Alley Viper, or an Airtight or a Pythona. That would be the coolest thing for an adult collector or even a little kid. I remember putting together the vehicles and putting the stickers on in just the right way and I felt so proud after I was done. Imagine a kid of 8 or 9 putting a figure together and painting it with the added paints in the kit. The next day, they would be so proud and impressed with their creation.

Also, I would love to see more weapon kits. They could easily set them up as a Club exclusive or mail away exclusive.

I am sorry to go on about my GI Joe wishes and desires, but after seeing what Hasbro is capable of creating in the new 25th design, I would think it a shame if any of the original figures from 80’s and 90’s was left out.

  3. I bought them all when I found them. I like Tomax and Xamot, they were my favorite from this wave. I think it was cool that they came in a similar package to what they came in back in the 80's. If you look at the sids of the insert, you will notice mirror like sides against the figures, that was really cool. I have to say that Ace is the goofiest looking one out of all of them. He looks like "Oh S#!t, where'd you come from?" It does kinda go with the comic cover. I hope that if they release a skystriker and an Ace figure together, they improve the head sculpt. Make it look more like the cartoon Ace.

  4. I found this on the action figure insider sight.

    http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/gallery...C03967.JPG.html

If you look at two pages back, you will see the figure standing next to a Tumbler on a shelf above the 6 inch Joker figure.

So, is the Batman figure that comes with the Tumbler going to be around 4" in scale(Similar to Mattel's DC 4" scale figures)? If it is, that's interesting, to say the least. If it's true, then maybe they should of done the 5.5" figures in the 4" scale. Just saying is all.

I really can't say, but it looks like they are just showing off what they can do with their new Technology. This may not even be an in production line based on the representation at the TF in NYC.

  5. I really hope that McFarlane does not do the toys for the ThunderCats movie. They would be solid formed statues with no playability. I read an article on figures.com that it was supposed to be an animated movie. I would think something along the lines of Beowulf, but that is just speculation. So far, not much has been on the web except that it is in the works.

  6. I think these new figures are pretty interesting. I think this line gives Mattel a wider range of variety within the DC Universe. The joints do have something to be desired, but they are much better than the first 3 3/4 DC figures we had as collectors. I remember the Mego 3 3/4 DC figures, they were cool but that was for that time. I would like a few more joints on these, such as on the wrists, modified thighs and modified shoulders. But over all, I like the designs and the overall variety of the line so far.

  7. I NEED MORE PICTURES!!!!

Yeah I'm kind of disappointed that TNI and/or YoJoe.Com have ZERO pictures up. I'm not going to sign up at the gijoeclub just to see the pictures.

GI Joe.com only had a few pics too. Not much to get excited about.

I signed up because it was free to see the online newletter and the pics. The RAM and VAMP were my highlights. They are pretty much like the original versions, just slight additions because of the size of the figures.

  8. I think they already pulled the bat pic on that Forum.

I got a quick glimpse and I very stoked about these next figures coming out. Also love the pics on GI Joe.com. Lady Jaye looks a little off, but I bet she looks better in the final production. Love that she does not have a hat. I can't wait to get that RAM and VAMP. Those were my favorites when I was a kid.

  9. Today is the offical last day for me.

As of this day I will no longer go hunting for 25th Anniversary Joes. I will no longer have an action figure control my life. This past week I have gone hunting four times, not including today. I live in the San Fernando Valley, in SoCal and my trips consist of five Wal-Marts, thirteen Targets, and six TRUs. During the holidays I was on a roll finding Wave 3 & Wave 4 and Comic Packs 1 & 2. The last three weeks I've been coming home empty handed and I am gettting tired of it, mentally and physically. I love these figures but for a 35 year old to go around hunting for "dolls" is not worth it for me anymore. Wave 5 has been my dream wave since I saw the list on a Wal-Mart thread late last summer, and with the upcoming waves getting better... Today I actually found myself useing profanity out loud in the aisles of stores when I found empty pegs or figures I already have had for months. One of my New Years Resolutions was to start attending church again (must be the getting old thing), I have yet to attend because I wake up and decided to check out Wal-Marts on a Sunday my day off, just because they open at 7:00 am and I want to try and bet any scalpers. Like I said this weeks four trips, have cost me $70.00 in gas. Adding unnecessary mileage to my car. We've been have rain storms all week, and for some reason native Los Angelenos can't drive for $#!+ when it rains (accidents everywhere). To top it off when I left one of the Targets today I found that someone had hit the right rear quarter panel on my 07 Honda Civic Si. Hit and run F***!!! I have been late to work twice for checking Wal-Marts in the morning that are out of my way to work. My supervisior has already talked to me about it, since I'm always the first one at the store because I live walking distance from work. I even lost my wallet with all my credit cards, checks, and driver's license. Luckily some good soul turned it in at the Target that I went back to, after returning five figures that I bought out of impulse. I am planning on buying a house this summer and I should be focusing on that, then my beloved Joes I can't even get. Later on I will be going through all my stuff and pull what I don't need so I can return them. I never collected mint on card Joes before and with all the variants going around with this line...I'm just gonna return them. I have no receipts since I've been buying from last summer, but I'm sure Target can give it back to me in a gift card, that I can use for the exclusives and other necessities. I'm still going to buy the 25th Joes, I love my Joes, but I'm not gonna stress over them. If I find something I want when I stop in a store I'll buy it. But as of today I will no longer hunt for 25th figures, either I get'em down the line or never get'em. I refuse to pay outragoues E-Bay prices, and I hate on-line shopping when I can't see what I'm buying. So I wish you all the best and congrates on your future finds while I curse you all while reading your threads on "I found... "

    JINX723, 'retired hunter' @rico@

I do not blame you. So far I have been very lucky with the GI Joes, but this year has been one disappointment after another. I have been hunting for the comic packs since the beginning of the month and kept coming up with nothing. I went in one morning and found all of wave one and just the Destro and Breaker pack of wave two. I just went into Walmart today and found the sad remains of Wave 5 and all of wave 4 sitting on the pegs. I was not happy and yes I was using foul words to express my frustrations. I do not blame you for wanting to stop. Do what you think is best for you. I know it becomes an addiction, not just the hunting, but the buying. You may walk in and find figures that you already have, but because you do not find the one that you were looking for, you feel you need to buy what you find. It is not worth the stress and frustrations. Take care of yourself Jinx723.

  10. Man, what a fricken letdown. The first for me, even with a wave of nothing but previously released figures!

Snake-Eyes: See, this is exactly what *not* to do with a Snake-Eyes. You frankenbash a Snow-Job with the Comic-pack necklace, and a new hood... a perfect incarnation of Snake-Eyes from Marvel #2. But, then you stick it on a single card, without a Kwinn in sight!?!?! Miss! Take! This should've been a comic 2-pack.

Roadblock: I'm still sure these are early, hand painted protos, using production figures to conceptualize how the repaint will look. So i hope this guy looks better on the shelves.

Flint: They fixed Flint! Looks like the new Viper sleeves, with Shipwreck forearms, and an unclenched left hand! They fixed Flint! They even say Fans will appreciate his short sleeves and gloves! That's phenomenal! Just one problem... why in the Fudgesylvania did they have to give us this apology figure in Tiger Force camo! Hear me now, Hasbro! Repaint this figure like the Wave 1 version, and call it a running change. Fans won't have to kill you then.

Cobra Commander: A decent enough repack, but pairing him with the Baroness in a two-pack would've been brilliant. This way? Waste of blister card stock, if you ask me.

Baroness: This isn't Baroness v2, it's Baroness V1. The colors are, at least. But the design of Baroness' original costume just can't be achieved by repainting her classic S&M overalls. Hasbro really should admit this iconic GIJoe character was not their creation, but that of Hama, and honor her 25th Anniversary (as one of Cobra's Original 2), by giving us a brand new sculpt of her original outfit. The head is perfection-ish, tho!

Python Patrol Offitrooper: Ok, so Hasbro screwed up in 1989, when they packaged the trooper repaint as the Python Officer. Whatever you call it, the idea is an easy repaint. It's expected here. It still doesnt explain why some skumbnull decided "ooh, I like the silver emblem as an homage", screwed up the Wave 2 release of the 5-pack trooper, and no plans to right that goof have been made yet. Running change, Hasbro. Change it, or youll be running from me at the Con this year!

Major Bludd: Kill it. The face was the least of the problems with this crap of s*** Hasbro's diahrrea'd together here. I'm calling this the "Modern" Bludd, like Zartan and Serpentor, and am demanding, here and now and forever, that Hasbro get to work making the HISS Driver body part of a "Classic" Bludd franken-repaint.

    s***. Pure s***.

    @loll@

I was excited to see a new Flint with the open gloved hands. I was quite happy to see that, but to make him a Tiger Force figure takes the cake. I mean this was when I stopped buying the GI joes back in the 80s. I got so tired of the repaints that I just stopped collecting. I really think that they just need to paint him to look like the original and you will see them flying off the shelves. Also, Hasbro, please take these hands and put them on Shipwreck. You will see him flying off the shelves, as well.

I agree about the Snakes eyes and the CC and Baroness needing to be in comic tow packs. When I checked out the Snakes, I first thought why does he have alien skulls on a Necklace and what the hell good is he except to match up with Snow job and they and they can go around shooting snow together. LOL I hope this body style is the Snow serpent soon to grace the toy shelves. CC and Baroness just look like the Comic pack set that we saw back in 04. I did not buy that set and I am not planning on buying either of these at the moment.

I was excited to hear that we were going to get a new Bludd figure and was really hoping it would be close to the original, but in a 25th way. But when we see Zartan broken down into a Bludd figure, it made me feel just a little bit cheated. Like many are saying, is this what we were being told that we were waiting for? How many times did they put this figure off to the next wave to make this disappointment?

I really hope that Hasbro is looking through these forums carefully and taking into consideration that these figures need some tweaking before they are released in mass.

    PMZ

  11. I dunno.

from what I hear MEZCO still has the license for the movie, and will be debuting those figures at Toy Fair.

In a way, I hope that is true, because I have almost all of the Mezco figures that were made for the first movie.

But, in a way I hope that GG has the license and they make more figures. Even though I was not wanting to get this one movie figure with the horns, he is still freaking cool.

  12. All the figures are pretty cool, but I agree about the goggles on the Viper. He needs them on his helmet. I do not like the wrists on the viper. Snake Eyes is freaking cool! Spirit is pretty cool, but his jaw lines is just a little to square. Maybe it is just the angle of the picture, or maybe not. Wild Bills is pretty cool, but he just seems to have a little too much accessaries on the vest. Overall, the line is pretty cool.
