  1. Hey guys I'm hoping to overcome all the doom and gloom about the possibility of the line being discontinued and give my view on things. Currently we're still seeing new product hit stores, Mumm-ra's vehicle being one of the them along with 6" Cheetara and Tigra. Also I saw that they will be releasing Panthro's nunchuks as a role-play accessory. I happen to work at a relatively large and well known toy store, three things are in favor of Thundercats

    1. We've just received display graphics for the toy-line which we never had before.

    2. Items are still generating in our inventory system, items for the T-cat lines are still showing "Available" which is a GREAT sign.

    3. We're generally on point with seasonal phase changes and the Spring set we're currently moving along with has the Thundercats section expanded. No items have gone D (discontinued) or X (Clearance) status. I'll check tomorrow but I also believe that the toy-line has increased SKN's for this new set.

Don't read too much into a "No comment" comment- who knows what level of permission this Bandai rep had for the product line. It could all come down to them waiting on Cartoon Network to begin airing future episodes again.

Overall although I haven't been able to afford a lot of the new Thundercats toys, I've been able to buy a couple things here and I'm constantly stocking the aisle at work (so I see the new product quite a bit). From what I have bought and have seen (which is just about everything)- I believe Bandai doesn't get enough credit for what they have done. Sure everyone wants to point to Hasbro and Mattel as being better options but are we really looking at all the facts. No one company could have produced as many new toys for a single toy-line as Bandai has (which I think they will spend the first part of this year doing a limited release of some of the new stuff and unloading the old stuff before showing A LOT more at San Diego Comic Con and loading shelves for late Summer and Early Fall). The Classics look amazing, even the 6" growling face Lion-o which looks way better now that I have bought it and have him on display. Yes the flesh colored joints bother me a bit, yes on the modern figures the black pegs look a bit rough and yes- the screws on the back of the 6" classics are a bit of an eyesore but overall the figure and accessories have been done well. Outside of a build-a-figure piece (which usually goes to a D-E Level character that few people care about) what accessories are packed with DC Universe, Masters of the Universe or Marvel Legends? Think about it...

Classic Lion-o in the 6" version gave us multiple hands, his glove and two swords! Overall I'm impressed and I'm praying for at least Panthro, Cheetara and Tigra in the 6" mold for the classics before all is said and done.

Come on guys have a bit of faith!

    Amen,

I personally hope this "no comment" thing was based on the push for the Spring wave to hit shelves early. And that they are waiting on approval from WB before they can move anything out on the shelf or the toy fair floor. WB seems to be a very strict bunch of business persons so I can see them getting bent out of shape with Bandai trying to show new stuff before they are approved.

I just saw a restock of the new 4 inch line at the local walmart on Friday and I went back today and there is only one lion-o and Panthro on the shelve. The four inch line is moving darn well where I am at. I love the new 6 inch line of Classics and I really like the updates they have made to make Tygra and Cheetara. I am so freaking wanting the 6 inch tigra and my wife saw him and did not pick one up for me. She claims that I did not say I wanted it but now she is on the look out with a vengence. I only need Lion-o and Tygra and I have the whole 6 inch line. I freaking love Cheetara, Tygra and Mumm-ra. Mumm-ra goes so freaking awesomely with the 4 inch line, it is freaking cool. I saw the Armor of Omens this past weekend and was not moved to buy. I like it but I am put off by the poor articulation on the armor. If they would have sold it as just a big freaking figure with no Lion-o insert, I so would have picked it up.

  2. I think that the lack of anything new is not the worst thing here. I think this is an indication that WB is getting a little more strict on the Bandai release of toys for the show and the classic line. The fact that we heard of the new toys and got them around Christmas tells me that we are seeing WB getting more active on the guidance of the line and they are making Bandai do the toys better and are not just letting them release it without giving it some real scrutiny.

At least that is what I am hoping for.

  3. I like the 8 inch figures, but this day and age, it really is an excess in plastic and in cost that would only be afforded by the collector. And a Collector in this economy, unless you are super hard core, will only go for the main figure. I have both because I liked Tygra and Lion-o, but they really messed up Tygra's face with the eyes being off center. Makes me wonder if they intended to make the head a bit wider. Plus he is not to scale with Lion-o as he was a bit shorter than Lion-o. But that is classic Bandai, ignore scale and put out a toy. Kids will not mind. Some kids don't but some kids and a lot of collectors do. I personally hope Bandai collects all the Tygras that did not sell and put them back in the batch of plastic to make the 6 inch line. I am not saying the 8 inch line is dead, but if it is not, then they need to gear it to the collector and keep to scale and correct centering snafus and put out some bad guys dang it. This Lion-o versus Mumm-ra is going to sell better because it is a good guy versus a bad guy. Heck, it they look good and to scale, I am probably going to buy more than one set of this one, just to have around incase I play them to pieces and need another.

  4. I liked the intro to X-men and why the heck isn't the voice actor for Wolverine in X-men the same voice actor in Wolverine. I liked the beginning on X-Men but it is now falling into Ultimate X-men status and I really did not care for that comic art or story. I will have to see what the next episodes hold for X-men.

I liked Iron Man and really liked the end. Was happy when Wolverine ended (really did not see that coming, RIGHT!) I hope they correct the Wolverine series with the voice actor from X-men so I do not have to hear that Over Smoked out Raspy voice that sounds like he is whispering after drinking Rubbing alcohol.

  5. I love the 8 inchers we got but I think the 6 inchers will be better over all and maybe mean we get more figs in the long run!

    Draven

We will get more figures for sure since the current classics line isn't moving much...

I hope so with this Mumm-Ra coming out, I am so looking forward to the Mutants coupled with the other ThunderCats. I was thinking of who I wanted to see put together. I was thinking of the following:

    Panthro with Slithe

    Tigra with Monkian

    Cheetara with Jackalman

    WilyKat and Kit with Vultureman

    Snarf with Ma-mutt

Wishful thinking but this would be sweet.

  6. I like what they are trying to do but I am only interested in Dice so far. This line of figures is not very impressive to me and I am really not in the market to spend a bunch of money on a single figure. I hope this goes well and they continue it into the next few years so that if I do have the money, I can at least get in at another time.

  7. Sci-Fi and the Techno viper for me too,Maybe Airtight. The others not so much.I am a bit dissapointed with the Cobra Trooper. He should have be packed the full face mask.Same with the card art.

Do you mean the full face showing like the card art, that is the head the figure comes with. What you see is the vest collar covering his face. That figure is so very much like the cartoon.

  8. Really like Sci-Fi, Techno-Viper, Airtight, and Law and Order. These are my favorite of this wave. I do like the cobra trooper, Scarlett, and Ripcord. But I was a major fan of the original Ripcord and have two of the assault on Cobra Island version and I took a Matt Trakker head and put it on the Body and set up a thing to plug the oxygen mask into on the parachute harness. This figure is more for the Cartoon. I really cannot wait for the cartoon to hit DVD.

  9. I like this Dice, but the first three have so much to desire. I am happy for the head sculpt for Topside but do not like that they just used the body of Shipwreck for the rest. They could have made some updates to give him a little more individuality. Currently, Dice is the only one that I would be willing to buy for $20 or $30. The rest are not interesting enough for me to get excited for. I hope we see all 12 before they put the subscription up.

  10. This is the only thing that I hate about Bandai. They put stuff up for coming out in November without any photos or confirmations. Their PR Group is a little behind the times compared to Hasbro or Mattel. I bet these will not hit until Christmas, and for these to come out this year, they had to have had this set waiting in the wings anticipating the low sells for the 8 inch toys. Hell, hit Toys r us Website and they have everything in-stock and ready to ship. I like the Cartoon, and I like the toys, but they need to fix the scale issues with Mumm-ra, snarf and the T-cats. They need to put more joins on the kittens and less joins on the 4 inch toys to reduce the costs on them. I think if they were a little cheaper, the kids would get into them.

I was wearing my T-cats shirt to pick up my Daughter (who likes Thunder Cats as well) and this kid about 8 years old, comes up and asks me, "you like Thunder Cats?" and I looked down at my T-shirt and said "yeah!" I already ran out and got the first 8 episodes on DVD, wish they were on Blue Ray though.

Going to sell some stuff on E-bay to get some Money in my toy coffer for these new sets and waves. These are freaking sweet. But for now, I am holding back waiting for Pics but I am sure I am going to buy them even if scale is still screwed up.

  11. I cannot wait for these sets. I know they are not the best, but I have made due with worse. The figures I like the most are red dog and road pig. I think will be working with the rest to fix them to look the way I want.

  12. Did not think of it that way but if you take into consideration the conversations that goes on between Anakin and Palpatine about cheating death, that would make sense. Like he has cheated death for so long, I mean it would have to have taken a long time to devise a plan as grand as the clone wars and taking over the republic. This is not something that came from a 60 or 100 year old man. This had to have been going on for a while and him being able to hide his age via his powers and Mace "Jedi" kicking him in the ribs making him lose that control makes sense. I think Lucas needs to incorporate this idea in to the clone wars.

  13. I like the Ironman one but not really liking the raspy voice of Logan in Wolverine and this obsession with muriko is getting tiresome. I liked the premise of the show but it is really starting to get old. Got excited for the X-men show when Cyc showed up to help out Wolverine. I really wish they would have gotten a better voice actor for Wolverine.

  14. coming soon:IMG_8272.jpg

I just preordered this. One more Batman to line the customizer bin. I was hoping for a cartoon accurate figure with a long cape and grey suit. Not happy with the silver suit. I hate those versions of batman, thermal suit batman, the laser suit batman, were all they are are just batman repainted with new accessories. Really hope Mattel and the four horseman read these forums and make a change to the figure.

  15. I really like the show and the writing. The art is superb and action is pretty good too. Hoping this light stuff comes to a conclusion this season, dragging things on for too longs bores the living snot out of me. Love the new looks of Ra's and Hugo.

  16. I personally can wait for the new episodes, gives me some time to get some recordings off my DVR.

I like the show and really hope it goes well. Can not wait for the Berbil episode, was waiting for them to hit the show ever since the first episode when they showed the arm of one in that junk shop.

  17. I personally can not wait to see these in the final production. I am hoping the preorder goes up today or this week. I am really excited about the Dreadnoks Set. I may have to do some mods to Zanzibar, but I am pretty excited about these.
