  1. Thanks to all the fan input Indie Spotlight was improved in both sculpt and articulation. Some pics tolook at: Kabuki Katchoo ShadowHawk The Maxx Isz Also there is a new Indie Spotlight designer line in the works and you can get the front runner MTV's The MAXX SDCC exclusive in mini form our store even if you can't make SDCC! http://www.shockertoys.com/store/php
  2. Actually the line was first announced in May of 2006, so almost two years. So my disappointment is long-overdue then. Awesome. @hmmm@ Hey thats great that you don't care for series1 because of what you saw at NYCC, because it actually was the same series1 that everyone has seen. The new series1 in tooling has the series2 articualtion and paints for series1 will be done from the atrists color guides not what you have seen at toy fair or nycc. Just thought I'd get that info out there for you all. So breakdown is Kabuki, Katchoo and ShadowHawk are all getting the Series 2 joint treatment from head to toe and a new paint job which was like the SCUD Exclusive at NYCC even though that was a bit rushed so better then that. Things take time when you think of a new idea and it gets taken along with your properties then you have to go back and rethink it all then you get not so great sculpts and a crappy factory then have to get a new design team and factory and start allover again. But point is we did and we are moving up if you don't want to give us a chance that is fine but we are going to put the line out no matter what! Translation: You're busy adding more stuff you've seen work for others who are doing similar figures. Not that I'm actually trying to berate you for it- it's actually quite the intelligent move. However, this marks how many times you guys are redoing the same lineup? At this point, wouldn't the smart money be to just reverse them and put series 2 out first? After two years, I'd think you'd like to have something to show for it, and it seems like series 2 is actually farther along. And why you would show off figures that you fully admit are inferior to your intentions and are nowhere near the finished product is bewildering. A cardboard mock-up would have shown that you have the license and 'intend' to make the figures... and frankly, it would have looked better than what you actually had. It was bad enough thinking that you'd polished a turd and still had a turd. Turns out you were just showing the turd and promising to polish it. Let me know when you actually have something that A: can be bought, and B: is worth buying... I do hope I'm not asking for the impossible. Two years. And that's just since you announced it; it seems likely that it was in the works long before that. I think it's time to fish or cut bait. Actually the articulation is beinbg designed from scratch not from anyone elses figures. I am not going into a shouting match with you since it seems that is what you want. We are making the figures if you don't want them it is your choice. Np on is twisting your arms. When you see them in TRU pass em by if you can.
  3. When it drops, I'll be sure to pick them up for my grandchildren. I think they will like series 32 or 33!
  4. Maybe they'd just rather go with a company that actually makes toys, rather than one that only talks about it. Their loss but I guess you will find out after series1 drops. And again I have the best characters from Valiant that I ever wanted Dr. Solar and Magnus they were faves of mine growing up.

  6. As we all know, the New York Comic Con is coming up soon, and Shocker will be there to show off the prototypes for Indie Spotlight Series 2. Here's a sneak peek of Wildguard's Ignacia from Series 2, which is one of many that you'll be able to see if you go to the event, as well as what will be up on our site after it. http://www.wizarduniverse.com/041408indie.html
  7. Finished Pics! I am very impressed I can't wait to see what they can do with the Indie Spotlight line! Pre-order and Pick Ups end this week. http://www.shockertoys.com/store.php
  8. This is the 7" plastic pre-posed figurine made from the ariculated testshot. If you would like to get it in Canada please email us info [@] shockertoys [.] com for info on how to do that. Again JC sorry customers are confused but we have changed the site to say statue and pre-posed figurine and yelled at anyone who added the word action into the PR where it did not belong. The action figures are coming and this is for Schrab fans to get something signed by him. We are also here on all the sites posted to clear it up not many companies make sure to stay close to the fans. Also Indie Spotlight (action figures) will be available in Toys R Us and through Diamond at your local LCSs. If anyone is at NYCC drop by to find out some other announcments or chat about the line here.
  9. To be frank, if sales were THAT good, then they wouldn't have cancelled the line. Money makes the world go, and I suspect Marvel Toys' contracting to other vendors was a bit more cost effective than running a line with a bunch of no recognition superheroes (which is true, outside of a handful of characters, most of the characters have had NO mainstream exposure, and as we've all seen, a quality toy is no guarantee of great sales anymore) Nah, I can see them killing it for the reasons stated--namely they wanted to concentrate their efforts on their outside contracts related to the Marvel licenses. LOTR wound down, TNA jumped to another company......all they had left--AFAIK- was LCBH. There was a bit of a odd disparity with a company called Marvel Toys ( spun off from Marvel itself) making toys for its literal competing publisher like Dark Horse and Image. Its undeniable the product was excellent, looked great in the package, and probably did sell to their modest expectations. Still, that question of the public's awareness of those characters was the one nut that really begged cracking. To Marvel Toys credit, they matched obscure with fairly mainstream. Judge Dredd has a sizable audience, as does Conan, but Star is a character I honestly has never heard of before.......and Madman always struck me as very niche interest in comics. My personal suspicion is that there may have been a wall they struck in terms of building a roster with enough well-known characters to fuel future waves. Shocker Toys claims to have several classic licenses like the Lone Ranger, The Phantom, Dick Tracy etc. that would have been amazing in the LCBH line. Alas, they are not to be in that light. Hey Arrow no claims we do hold the rights for Lone Ranger, The Phantom and Dick Tracy. Series 2 will be on display at NYCC with Dick Tracy, Ignacia, Jack Staff, King Zombie and The Tick.
  10. Kid Robot is doing the Adult Swim line up in little 3" capsule type machine figurines. SOTA is doing plushies of ATHF. And we are doing Metalocalypse in 5.5 articulated figures of the band and supporting cast.
  11. I am glad we have Solar and Magnus because we have hit them over the head with tons of emails but the new owners have no cares about making toys as they said it is not in their plans at the moment so we shall see.
  12. Yes the mail in offer will be key in getting more figures per wave and not crowding pegs. Juts a reminder the NYCC SCUD exclusive figurine limited to 400pcs is almost at its pre-order cut off. If you are attending NYCC you can add one on hold or if you are not attending NYCC you can order one to ship on April 21st. Visit the store to do so http://www.shockertoys.com/store.php There is a limited amount left and if you are in Canada please email us before purchasing SCUD for mail out. Also Series2 will be on hand at NYCC The Tick, Jack Staff, Ignacia, Dick Tracy and King Zombie.
  13. Last bit of news we have a MASS store on board for Indie Spotlight so get ready to raid the pegs!
  14. So series 1 in early summer? How many series will be released each year? We will try and get Series 2 out and maybe 3 before end of the year 2008. I would like to do 4 series a year as new comic come and go within 4 year periods. I have a question. If a comany like Toy Biz could not make a line like this work, how will Shocker Toys be able to succeed where they failed? If you have read Mr. Falcon's statement from Marvel Toys he says that the line sold well but it was Marvel who pulled the plug to do other things with their own characters. Just like Diamond Select is said to not be part of Diamond Comics they are as Marvel Toys was part of Marvel Comics. And as evenflow suggested yes we will not be limiting this line to Walmart only but allowing all stores to carry it making it last longer and more available to the public. We willalso be doing a special online purchase of MOC collectors. Did Sam Kieth seel the rights to the Maxx to MTV, because I noticed it's referred to as MTV's The Maxx and not Sam Kieth's The Maxx? Sam Kieth's Maxx is appearing in the War of the Independents comics which really shocked me. MTV holds the Merch rights to The Maxx. I hope this has sparked Sam into breathing new life into The Maxx like SCUD and Rob Schrab.
