  1. The MST3K revival...Joel has either forgotten or is ignorant of one key element that made the original what it was: the voice of the Midwest

Mystery Science Theater 3000...it's being revived via crowdfunding (ugh)

      The Joel years were great.

Not looking forward to the LA bred talent. And now Felicia Day? Ugh.

  2. I'm so @##@@ tired of hearing about @##@@ Jessica Jones. I didn't give a #$## about the books, and I don't give a #$## about the faux-television show. It's so daaaaaaaaaark! Superheroes have to be flaaaaaaaaaaawed! Like meeeeeeeeeeee! No silly costuuuuuuuuuuuuumes! Butt seeeeeeeeeeeeex!
  3. This BS at the University of MO and Yale really makes me feel good about my career in higher education.

I'm in the business of "higher education" yet I'm constantly being told I need to "get educated." So confusing!

I'm happy with my position in the education community: Catholic school 4th grade teacher. Very little political BS at this level. I couldn't deal with it otherwise.

Oh, ye hiding behind your bibles... they'll come for you next. But seriously, m kids will be going to Catholic school.

  4. You know the truly sad part of all this? A statistically significant number of people are going to go into this episode wondering where the producers get off ripping off Castiel. I had to Google Casteel...I hope the other group did the same.
  5. SPECTRE was really disappointing.

Saw it last night and liked it. Was what I was expecting after the last three. If this was Craig's last (which I doubt), then it was a nice end point.

Strong opening sequence, and some classic Bond moments that didn't feel forced...but ultimately I felt SPECTRE and Blofeld were wasted. 44 years without being able to use them and *poof* they blow their wad in one go: past Craig outings sloppily tied together (Quantum what now? Silva was a SPECTRE agent, too?! FOSTER BROTHERS?!?!).

I stuck around to see "James Bond will return" in the credits, but they pretty much made it clear with that happy lil ending that they will be pushing the reboot button all too quickly

  6. I'm guessing we're going to be asking that question for the duration of the show. If they're not going to say the guy's name, we sure as heck ain't going to see him on screen. Why exactly would we see him on screen? Superman's a busy guy and Kara is a full grown woman. I'd find it a lot more troubling if he DID show up at the drop of a hat. Because a guy who has spent a fair amount of time moping about being the last Kryptonian might be excited to see a blood relative, at least upon her discovery? Nope. Send "James."
  7. Pretty sure Disney would have made a bigger stink about Amy Schumer's "parody" if she wasn't pushed by the "progressives.". Maybe this is a move to safeguard against garbage like that?
  8. maybe you haven't heard, but THE KANSAS CITY ROYALS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

  9. Saw one on discount with a big gash on the box...$109.00. Could always take your chance with a box knife.
  10. I can understand the thought of "if you can't do it right, don't do it at all," but I was pleased with what I saw for as little as we had it. KIng Shark looked just as good as anything in 2 big Marvel CGI crapfests, but since you brought up old Joss, maybe this is better?
  11. Love the WWE create a superstar line...so much customizer potentential. Not enough buzz here.

  12. Good luck getting these at your TRU. All others, get ready to pay $38 for an awesome figure and a surplus, dated media copy of a loosely related, s****y movie.
  13. Mr. Terrific is gay...guess he wont be championed by the Spectre this time? The character was already the worlds worst athiest. Maybe they decide to bend the personification of the Wrath of God to fit the pc agenda even more?
  14. I see the whinning as a back-handed compliment. Nobody bitches or moans when a new Fast and the Furious or Mission Impossible sequel comes out. Only sci-fi and superhero movies inspire that kind of passion. I hate the MI movies...so there's one. And people made fun of grown men "bitching" about Jem and the Holograms...well, the reviews are in, folks! and dont forget book adaptions outside of sci fi...tough crowd there. Waiting for the #$## to hit the fan for the younger, hotter, black Ms Marple movie coming soon
  15. Im with Joe. how much articulation is needed to recreate play patterns with the original trilogy? Sure, i like to be able to pose Stormtroopers in all sorts of death throes, but the action is overall pretty static or comes from laser fire/guns/spaceships. I estimate that those bitching loudest looove the high octane lightsabre battles made popular in the prequels. cool for the sake of cool. flash, and little substance. Could be wrong. Im happy buyin in cheap. I think the sculpts are fine. and all others? Happy hunting at Walmart...this is beyond getting old.
  16. was getting excited for SW 7, until fans had to squash it with box office hype and other franchise bashing.

  17. Han Solo is the true believer/mentor character? Well...he's as good as dead. They talk of what happened in the OT as myth and legend...can't wait for all the "canon" garbage (Novels, Comics, Cartoons, Video Games) to explain away that mystique at a much faster rate than they did with the originals. It will happen pretty much concurrently. $$$ Even with an overabundance of CGI, the trailer was pretty exciting.
  18. crying a river for jennifer lawrence...again. Sorry, cupcake. Get a better agent and remember that there are hundreds of fellow female actresses out there prepared to undercut you in a heartbeat

Winter's Bone, her breakout film, is actually really good. But, yeah, most of the time she's pretty bland

As a private school teacher, I will often work 12 hour days and typically give a couple of hours of my Sunday to work. Next week I'll have conferences and be at work from 6am to 8pm. I won't get a dime of overtime. When I force myself to work less and give attention to friends or family, I feel guilty. I'm up for relicensure next year and I'll have the privilege of spending time and probably money attending seminars or taking courses to prove to a bureaucrat that I'm wor...

...thy of keeping my job. But I chose this. Whether it's a beautiful celebrity or a burger flipper who thinks he's entitled to $15/hour, I don't spend much time listening to people's pay gripes.

  19. nice to see another humorless response from Paul Feig to a GB reboot troll. If he'd been in stand-up, i figure he's onē heckler away from a "Kramer"

Everyone from the original is now confirmed for a cameo in this new version, am I right? Except Rick Moranis?

  20. With some of the shows I've seen, maybe a little more media bird-dogging is a good thing. Arrow and the Flash are fine for a 43 tear-old like myself, but I'd like a show I can watch with my nieces and nephews. Still gotta keep em safe from some images when googling the star of the show.
  21. Found a full set minus pink yoshi at Gordmans for $12 each. The markup hurts, but I'm not seeing this line at the big stores anymore
