  1. What about Doc? He was part of the second series in '83.

    Wow!...

I got my one negative feedback on ebay in that way. I complained about the seller misrepresenting his auction and he posted negative feedback saying that he "warned me" and that I "flaked" on him. The feedback system is a joke.
  3. The sculpt is decent, but the lack of articulation will prevent me from ever owning this figure.
  4. Haha, it does not. It's completely asexual. You could replace Scarlett's name with a male name and the forum would retain every bit of its meaning.

    Role Call !!!

I've kinda been out of the loop for the past 6 months, but this six-pack has rekindled my interest. How much are they? Are they TRU only?
  6. CLAM, you've been saying that Hasbro should focus its attention on RAH rereleases from the beginning, if I'm not mistaken. I didn't agree with you back then because I wanted to see what new ideas they might bring to the table. Now that I've seen them, I want to be excused from the table, and if possible, have the table set on fire.
  7. Slowly, but inevitably, the GI Joe line has begun its recollapse. It laid dormant for a few years, and began regaining popularity quietly with an interspersal of special edition rereleases. The progress continued as GI Joe launched full-blown repaint line playing on the collector's vulnerability: fond memories of a childhood defined by RAH. After a couple of waves, the success of RAHC enticed Hasbro to milk the consumers for all that they're worth with a perfunctory attempt at a second coming of Joe. The apparent idea was to attract new clientel while still appealing to the collectors. Judging from what I've seen, and what I've read, Hasbro wasn't able to accomplish either of these goals. The JvC line could be likened to Michael Jordan's comeback from retirement in basketball. It had its moments, but never quite accomplished its level of dominance and greatness we remembered it as having. Ultimately, the comeback only marred its image. The telltale signs of the death of the line abound. Spring-loaded weapons are back. The neon colors are back. The substandard articulation is back. The attention to detail and defining character, however, are all but a fuzzy recollection. No longer do we see the accessories individualized for a single figure, painted Cobra insignias, design true to the filecard art, or an assemblance of realism. The shelves are flooded with quickly produced and too often repainted figures which, while sometimes retain some aesthetic value, never possess the feeling of uniqueness that so many of the figures from the original line embodied. The line has been reduced by gimmicks, by quality issues, by a lack of standardization, and by an overall hollowness. The figures are just plastic again. I have fought back this realization. I have let fantasy convince me that these past few waves have been redeemable, that the positive outweighs the negative, and that the future contains new waves that will lead the line back to its roots. But in reality, the roots of this line are in the past, altogether unattainable through any action of Hasbro executives.
  8. Same version, though the darker pictures looks cooler. If I buy this plane, I'll paint it black.
  9. The boat I think would be great if not for the torpedo launchers on the side. The Cobra jet... as I said before, I like the turret, but not the overall design. I like the sci-fi essence to it, but not the animalization. I suppose it would fit in well with the HISS IV's though. I think it's safe to say that Cobra won't be seeing any variations of real military vehicles.
  10. Yeah, I just noticed how many there were. I'm an idiot. Close it up, mods!
  11. In my excitement, I didn't see this thread and opened a similar one. I also talked about the new boat and Joe jet. Anyone see those?
  12. Some early prototypes of vehicles popped up on Ebay, as well as the black repaint of CC and what looks like a Wild Weasel! I would post a link, but I might be castrated. So go check it out for yourself. My thoughts: The Cobra Jet looks stupid, but the turret is nice. I wish they would have retooled the Rattler to have a turret like that. The GI Joe jet looks even worse than the Cobra one. The boat, on the other hand, looks promising. Its design is simple, without lending itself too much toward fantasy. The Wild Weasel looks very cool, as does the GI Joe Pilot (Ace?). Black CC looks okay, but I would have preferred more red and less white in his color scheme. Type in "GI JOE" and "NOT YET RELEASED" and you'll find all of his auctions of interest.
  13. Anyone notice his OTHER listed items? Black CC from Wave 9, a new Cobra JET? A new Cobra boat? Don't tell me I'm the only one that noticed this. Is there another thread that's talking about all of this?
  14. Why doesn't the Inferno BAT just shoot him in the back?
  15. Very nice. Maybe a little too casual for a US military troop, but cool nonetheless. he looks particularly cool with that shotgun.
  16. I'm disappointed about a number of things. The lack of the symbol and the amount of time it takes to receive them are first and foremost.
  17. It's not $2.99 for two figures at all. It's $2.99 PLUS the monetary equivalent of 24 BPs. I'm sure most of you already have 24 BP laying around, but I know that I don't. Sure makes it seem like a better deal though. My favorite part is: "Please allow 8-10 weeks for arrival." Actually, I don't even think they said "please." So let me get this straight... I have to buy 6 two-packs at $8 a piece ($48 for the mathematically impaired) and then send an additional $3 + postage, and you're going to be so generous as to "give" me two "free" figures in two months? Two months? That's only 1/6th of a year, take your time! In fact, that's only slightly less than 1% of the total time I've spent on God's green Earth! Hey, Hasbro, here's $50 and 1% of my life, could I have two figures in return?
  18. Surprise, surpise -- no symbol!
  19. You'll have to define Anime for me then.
  20. Are you kidding me? Anime sucks. It's all the same, crappy stories drawn in the same crappy style. I can't believe you cited Armada as a success story. The integral reason Armada sucks is the Anime inspiration. The kids with the huge eyes that do nothing but laugh, the minicons, the action lines flying all over the place... it's terrible. If there's anything sacred, Hasbro will not make GI Joe into an Anime cartoon.
  21. Firefly

    Cobra Scorpion

@loll@ Too funny. I didn't know that they were making 12" figures in the same theme.
  22. Firefly

    Dd Stalker Custom

I think it looks good, except for the neck which is too long and slender. Flint makes a surprisingly good Stalker.
  23. So this doesn't apply to online shopping?
  24. Happened to Seymour Skinner too. Oh yeah.... that's probably who I was thinking of
