  1. So I just got back from WWLA, and here's what I got straight from the proverbial horse's mouth (btw, boy wonder is the man!! he took questions for literally hours straight from me and my fellow geeks, and was super friendly!): Yes, he confirmed that DC/WB did not give mattel any kind of extended/master license (in fact, I had seen an idea floated on this forum or another that mattel might be able to sneak in some other non-bats/supes characters into a line, but he said mattel had specifically been told that they could not. The waves have been shifted, with the superman wave 2, coming out any day now, followed by a batman wave in the late summer/fall (btw, the "battle-damaged bats" WILL be a redeco of the bats from wave 1-damn :? ) Starting with wave 3, the figs will be packaged with dioramas, but we can pretty much forget about any mail-in bases, or the like. The earliest we can expect to see the sweeeeeet bats that was scheduled for wave 4 is early '07. Lastly the new (and thank goodness, good-) news, is that there will be large-sized (don't know exactly how large) versions of superman and bats (similar to the two-ups shown at conventions and toy fair) exclusively at TRU in october of this year. Well, that's all I can remember. Definitely, mostly bad news, but again, BW was super-cool, very friendly to all. I apologize if any of this info has already been posted. P.S. The TWO-FACE two-up was displayed, looked awesome!!!
  2. Of what's currently available, here are your top choices: 1. Attack Armor Batman/Bat Signal Batman (both great figs, both pretty highly articulated)-unfortunately, they were only released overseas by mattel, so you're going to have to go ebay on those. 2.DC Superheroes Batman (mattel's new line) pretty much the same as bat signal batman, except blue instead of black, and slightly less articulated. widely available, probably your top choice if $ is an issue. 3. Zip Line Batman (mattel's original batman line) just a great sculpt, somewhat lacking in the articulation department, but a great figure nonetheless, still available at many comic shops. 4. Hush Batman, DCD, yes it's artist specific, yes, it's not very articulated, but it's pretty much what Batman has looked like in the comics for the past four or five years. hope this helps... (Or you could just hold out for the batman from wave 4 of mattel's current DC superheroes line, that looks to be definitive.)
