  1. Kevin Conroy. Hand down. BEST Batman. His voice acting talent put more life into Batman than anyone who has ever been in a live action film. Adam West? Laughable. Keaton? Boring. Bale? There is almost TOO much evil in his eyes. Conroy's voice mixed with the incredible talent of animators at Warner Bros. defined what Batman was supposed to be. Nothing has ever come close...nor do I think anything will. Now, with that said, we need to have a "who's the best Joker" question. Hands down Ceasar Romero. Anyone who can take a role, not shave his mustache, paint white over it and pretend it isn't there...is truly the most insane man in the world's history.
  2. I definitely say Spielberg. Look, Lucas has great IDEAS. But when he's in charge, they are usually poorly executed. Don't get me wrong, I love star wars...but look at it compared to the Indiana Jones movies. Star Wars seems clunky, poorly written, goofy, and poorly directed. Indiana Jones always had a quality to it. A timelessness. The original Star Wars is showing it's age, but Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom still holds up today in my opinion. You ask most people which movie is "cooler"...star wars or Indiana Jones, and they'll say Indiana Jones. I rest that squarely in the hands of Spielberg. Lucas was involved heavily in both, but Spielberg can take those ideas and give them a real sense of legitimacy. His movies just seem like a step above any other movie that has a geek following. Then of course there is Harrison Ford. I agree that with Magnum P.I. in his place, we wouldn't have the same movies we have now. I know I'm going to get crap for this...but tough. Harrison is a great actor with a lot of sex appeal. Lucas is an ambitious business man without any real skills. Spielberg is an incredible artist. I guess that's my two cents. Begin fighting please.
  3. I'm all for trying out a new costume for Cap...but this kind of sucks. The design is (for lack of a better word ) weird. First off...whats with all the shine? is it some kind of flexible metal?...maybe a cool idea, but for now I think it looks kind of contradictory. Second, the v shape down his front...it points right to an area of anatomy..well, you get it. Even if I could overlook that, the shape makes is look like some kind of material just hanging from his chest. Somebody mentioned it looks like it gives cap an extra joint. I agree. I generally find Ross's work a little bit boring, but he knows how to paint, and draw, and generally he knows how to design. I think he just missed the mark here is all.
  4. Sorry Lord Amron.... I meant WHITEWOLF when I said YOU doing a public service. Sorry for the confusion there. I meant WHITEWOLF saying it was a public service is bull....not you. You clearly are NOT doing a public service. I kid.......mostly.
  5. I was waiting for this....I think you're missing the issue I'm venting about. The issue over perks vs fair is a dead horse. Some feel one way while other feel the otherwise. I'm drawing attention to the fact that this guy repeated numerous times he would be more than willing to help collectors out. He said that. Here...as a public statement. I'm taking him to task for not doing it. By all means I held what he said with about as much weight as a hill of beans BUT part of his whole thing was he was misunderstood, not "that way", etc. I saying otherwise. Saying their "just toys" is true but it's circular logic. IF we ALL felt they were just toys then they wouldn't be snatched up before they sat foot on a toy aisle. IF they were just toys ANYONE would be able to "find" them without dealing with scalpers, Cooters, etc. IF they were just toys this ENTIRE topic would be a figment of ALL our imaginations. IF they were JUST toys there would be no TNI, no ebay (maybe), or any other toy sites. In reality it falls under you life is not fair defination that this has become an issue. I don't disagree. I just want to bring light to others; to say TNI is a forum for people (mostly GROWN men who work and have families) who do love/collect toys. So we will complain when something that we know SHOULD be easier to find is not because someone cherry picks them, puts them on a site to review and has the audacity to believe he is benifitting the masses. THAT takes ALOT of nerve. Like anyone I love the hunt, but the hunt usually ends with you bagging the game you were stalking. Not always the same day, nor the same week, nor even the same store. But with gas the way it is, the fact many of us work and can't compete with the Cooters and Basement scum that crawl out of bed at whatever time am to make it TRU, Target, Walmart. Now to find another factor limiting the selection pool even more (and again justifies it as being "helpful") well y'know you can go so close to a raggedy edge before you fall over. It is also annoying to find out that despite what was explained here employes are NOT allowed to hold items for 2 weeks. I understand its possible and can be done...no illusions about that but dammit if that don't rub more salt into the wound. Well, I concur with you about one thing...Saying you're doing a public service is complete bull. You're out to get toys like the rest of us. It's okay. Just own up to it. And they're still JUST toys. (Insert stupid smiley face emoticon thingy here)
  6. I say play the cards you're dealt. If you're working a crappy job stocking the shelves of box-mart, and one of the perks is being able to buy toys before others do...then do it. And screw anybody else. Yes it sucks for the rest of us collectors. I hate not finding toys I want and knowing deep in my heart that they were taken by some nerd who lives with his mommy and has seeked out a job stocking shelves just so he can grab the toys he wants before anybody else....but tough. The people who complain about this are the people who go through life shouting "THAT'S NOT FAIR". Well guess what...LIFE'S not fair. Deal with it. Besides...isn't half the fun of collecting the actual hunt? Don't you love wasting gas going from store to store, not finding the figure you want...and then giving up only to find it 4 months later at some obscure drug store and yelling "FINALLY"?...I sure do. So yeah...keep it up...because one day you won't have that job (hopefully) and you'll be screwed with the rest of us. And by the way...it really REALLY annoys me to imagine grown men complaining like children (as somebody on this thread already observed) to the manager that somebody has taken their precious toys. THEY'RE TOYS!!!! I love toys..I really do. But they're just pieces of fun plastic...not life and death...and I'm not going to have a temper tantrum and go crying to mommy and daddy that someone is hoarding them. Grow up folks. Those people make my tired hurt. There...I'm done. And I'm eating homemade clam chowder so I'm happy again.
  7. Personally...I LOVE this idea. I've been screaming for this idea for about 10 years now. Let's redo the old cast and keep the characters alive! Actually, my original idea was to do a new star trek show...just redo the old ones with a new cast and keep the goofiness out of it. Kind of like what they did with Ultimate Spider-Man. Imagine some new episodes that delve deeper into the relationship with Kirk and Khan. A new take on Tribbles? Mirror Mirror? I would LOVE that! This movie is a step in the right direction...just like what was said about Superman. Everybody has their favorite actor as Superman, or James Bond...(Christopher Reeve, Sean Connery) and nobody will ever come close....but some aren't bad at all (Brandon Routh, Who ever that new guy is in Casino Royal). I say whatever keeps new fans enjoying those old characters....let's do it!
  8. This board is hytsterical...the title reads "Translating HASBRO", but we end up in a huge discussion, about capitalism, oppression, and China....you toy collectors are oh-so-serious! I'm actually laughing out loud at these posts....
  9. I just picked up the target version today...(my wife is so incredibly generous for letting me buy this crap) And I must say...he's pretty bad ass...it makes me even more excited for the movie... There is a lot of fun detail on him and his truck mode looks a lot better than I thought it would. I also snagged barricade....pretty fun design I'd say.
  10. sooooooo....has ANYONE actually seen the blue suited supergirl?
  11. Canada is North...Mexico is South. Pick one and start driving. I hate this attitude....it basically says, I'm too stubborn to even listen to the fact that there MAY be something wrong with me, so I'll cover up my ears and tell you to get lost. It's like the mother of a 7 year old boy who goes around killing kittens, and the mother just saying...."It's not my boy that's the problem...it's everyone else!" Look, America has problems....mostly due to the current administration. We can either be in denial and let our country die because of our pride, or we can try to better ourselves. And I think that hiding our flag is NOT the way to do that. We can still have pride in our country and deal with things that are wrong with it. If anything, having our flag around more will remind us of what we truley are.
  12. people are bitching about a (maybe) 40 frame shot of the flag?...God. People will #$#@# about anything.
  13. The director should have been hung. Even the extra's seemed like they didn't have any direction. My 10 year old nephew could have written this movie. The only thing I enjoyed was the design of ghost rider and his bike. The rest (this includes acting, story, cinematography, etc.) was absolute crap. I don't understand how someone looks at a script like that...a movie made out of nothing but corny one liners...and says, "yeah! this sounds like a great movie! I'd love to be a part of it!" I'm pretty faithful to marvel movies. I'll defend pretty much all of them to a point..even hulk and punisher....but this movie was the final straw! Crap...through and through.
