  1. His hand being fisted was a decision by the sculptor. he wanted Shipwreck to punch guys. Sounds nice, but I prefer a functional toy. Fists should be pop-and-switch accessories. Now Shipwreck is limited in what he can do. But forget his gimp hand, what about his gimp HEAD?!
  2. 1. Will improved hip articulation be implemented for future figures in the line? From the prototypes shown, they appear to have difficulty sitting and that is very bad, particulartly if vehicles come into play. Like 1982/1983, will we see the toys currently having the old hip articulation be rereleased on single cards (multipacked Joes specifically) WITH the new articulation and their own card artwork? 2. What made the team go with a neo-classic style, hybridizing several Joe media with a modern tweak vs a vintage style using only one source (toy OR comic OR cartoon)? Theoretically, we could have seen three nicely-distinct lines in one signature style that could have intermixed nicely. Was it licensing issues? Issues with name and weapons to be made, etc? 3. Should the line take off, would Hasbro stick to old toys or introduce some figures of characters never made or drawn from one media source (Oktober Guard, Kwinn, Cobra La)? 4. Fans love army-builders and the Cobra Troopers and Grunts are high on the list. Will are the odds of seeing different ethnic groups represented, be it a change in skin tone or face sculpt? Will female troops (blue shirts AND green shirts for the Joes) finally be made? 5. Has the subject of vehicles or accessory packs been discussed? Has replacable heads or new/extra weapons been considered, or will we see these changes implemented as the line continues (via multipacks, etc)?
  3. I own a 12" Lady Jaye Convention Exclusive.
  4. Oddly, I was looking for Flint. My brother bought Snake Eyes, so I bought Lady Jaye, expecting to find Flint later. I never did...but I went through two Lady Jayes since the first one broke her thumb. Weird.
  5. But still, I'd love to see Dwight Stall taking a shot at resculpting this v2 Scarlett. Scarlett is a ninja like Snake Eyes. He is also a commando, while she is also counter-intelligence. He has his commando-esque attire, and his ninja-like attire and weaponry. This would be a fun Scarlett to see released. Keep the green and it is, make the yellow not fluorescent, some cool gold shoulder gauntlets, her ninja weaponry fully-painted, and voila! An impeccable update. My only question is: Rooted ponytail as an homage to the comic version, or long hair like the comic book?
  6. Hi! I am not the hugest Transformers fan, but I did find these for those who are interested and live in CT. There are 5 of these sets at the West Hartford area Target (New Britain?) Exit 40 off of I-84 Corbins Corner exit. The case was opened in front of me. I bought one. There are 6 to a case. This happened at 8PM EST. Happy Hunting.
  7. Can I get a Lady Jaye that looks like your avatar?
  8. And where do you work to get that kind of information?
  9. FYI, my brother saw some of the control art and I believe storyboard art for this series. It is VERY abstract in design. I have to assume by the best of his assessment that it's like Clone Wars or Foster's in style. If I remember correctly, that's what he said. What I do recall definitely, he said it's NOT good at all, VERY simplistic in design, and Optimus is a fire engine. Reading the posts here, I believe what my brother saw. The designs were too out there, but maybe it'll translate well in animation and story. Who knows?
  10. I have this cool cartoon Classics image in my head that Optimus Prime transforms and uses two guns when necessary, but in a firefight, tosses Bumblebee his smokestack gun, keeping the wind vane gun for himself. It's goes in Bumblebee's hand better than in OP's anyway. Try it.
  11. Sorry, but i just bought the classics Bumblebee. 2 things came to mind: 1. What car is the classics Bumblebee supposed to be? He cartainly isn't a VW Bug. 2. Why hasn't an Alternator Bumblebee been made using the new WV Bug model??? It sounds like an easy fit for the line.
  12. I know they want it, but their marketing department, which acts like an oversight committee, shoots it down for S6. No it's not marketing. The forces that keep them from coming out are higher up than marketing. Marketing just has to come up with a way to convince those people to make them. Marketing has sold the line well. Marketing gave them the success it needed to branch out. Now they want to do new riskier characters and the higher-ups wants them to continue to do what has been working. The 2.5" is the best argument they have that they will sell (at least as part of a set). I talk to marketing. It's not them, I swear LOL.
  13. The Hasbro team WANT the ladies made. The guy in charge did Batman for YEARS and he said catwoman, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Batgirl ALL sold through and they have the numbers to back it up. Princess Leia, Blackarachnia, Arcee, among others all did well, and he has NO idea why the stockholders and the management can't be convinced otherwise. Scarlett is already designed (her hair is still long and have two crossbows designed). They said the most concrete arguement they can give the management is for the 2.5" counterparts to sell through. I know I am buying them to donate to toys for Tots in December. Buy any and all female 2.5" figures. Write handwritten letters to Hasbro too and call the 800-number and request them! 1 800 327 8264
  14. The point is that you get the chance to obtain the original vehicles. I'd gladly take a blue Rattler over a crimson Rattler anyday, but there should be room for both if it helps sales. And technically, it would be a resculpt, not a reissue.
  15. Wolverine Tank (with Cover Girl) Chameleon (with Zartan) Flight Pod Whale (with Cutter) RAM JUMP Pack Skystriker (with Ace) Rattler (with Wild Weasel) Joe and Cobra Gliders (with Greenshirts/Grunts and Cobra Troopers) HISS Tank (with HISS Tank driver) I was also a fan of the outposts, watchtowers, and battle stations they had. But the vehicles listed are tops on my list. I'd also like to see removable equipment that was originally molded onto the vehicle (shovels, tools, etc)
  16. It has been pretty much established that these Joes will be all new sculpts. To make them the most articulated means they'd have to start from scratch. I forgive reused molds if they reuse newly-sculpted bodies among the 1982 Joes EXACTLY as they had done in 1982, for instance.
  17. I essentially want GI Joe treated the way Hasbro treats most Star Wars ROTS, VOTC, and Saga 2006: Original sculpts. Great likenesses. Vintage look (NO modernization). Great paint application and proper scale. Star Wars Evolutions Set Darth Sidious-level articulation plus ball hips and mid torso (a la Pilot ObiWan). Injection-molded joints. In other words: Ball neck Ball-jointed and pivot shoulder joints swivel & pivot elbow joints wrists swivel mid torso bending and twisting (ex: Pilot Obi Wan) waist swivel (?) Ball-jointed and swivel hips swivel and pivot knee joints swivel and pivot ankle joints The joints are durable and completely functional. I bought a few of the new Star Wars toys to examine the new articulation and it left me wondering why GI Joe hasn't gotten such love. The toys can't come apart? No option to customize? Who cares?! I'd rather see a Flint that looks exactly like the 1985 card artwork/Sunbow toon than being able to stick his legs on a Zartan torso. Weren't some of the joe's real life guns licensed? I hope all of the weapons can be reproduced. I'd like to see backpacks with the option of strapping onto the toy instead of the hole in the back. I'd like to see some added accessories (Scarlett with a hip quiver, Commando Snake eyes with a sword) that would work for the old toy when needed. I'd like to see guns, knives, and granades that are molded onto the sculpt not look too tiny to be feasible or grafted into the body. All toys should come with clear stands, and maybe even connect to other stands to form rows/dioramas. I'd like to see accessory packs feature not only weapons, but new head sculpts and hands (the toys should be able to pop them off easily). I'd like to see every RAH Joe figure have Snow Job's laser rifle in brown like in the old cartoon (every Joe had one in a firefight) with an attachable red laser blast effect, just like Star Wars does. Cobra would have their own rifles with blue laser effects. You can simulate battles this way. Vehicles? I don't know if they really need resculpting. Resculpts with the old stickers and blueprints would put a smile on my face. New sculpts would work nicely, too. In short: I'd like to see GI Joe toys looking like they faithfully stepped off of the old toy card artwork with the articulation, imagination, and attention to detail that the Star Wars brand has been enjoying the last couple of years. It is the same company and it stymies me that one brand never learned from the other.
  18. Why isn't anybody taking pics of the Martian Manhunter 13" figure?!
  19. What they figured out is that we like the 80's Joes, and that's what we may see in '07. It's a fair trade off I think.
  20. Where did you hear about the new body construction? Did I miss something?
  21. I am personally not a fan of the 6" scale if it takes away from the 3 3/4" scale. If it's 6" scale and hyper-articulated, then it's a collector's line. Period. As a Joe "collector", I'd like 3.75" line for the vehicle aspect. High-end 6" stuff is great, too, but for a "Hall of Fame" aspect only. I think, as cool as they look, the same great execution can be done in a smaller (3.75") scale. Look at Marvel Legends Showdown. Those toys (paint ops aside) look great and about as detailed as the 6" stuff. There are pros and cons to both and I can elaborate when I am not at work. But as a Joe collector, 3.75" is it...and will be it next year. FYI, don't stop collecting ML Showdown if you are. Hasbro may (that means maybe) resurrect the line now in Late '07. For me, 3.75" is the best scale. For G.I.Joes, it's the vehicle aspect. For Marvel, it would be for larger characters and the sheer number of characters we'd have to make space for. We bought the ML Showdown F4 characters just so we'd have a better scale of toys to battle the Galactus build-a-figure. The new 3.75" toys look amazing and more comic-accurate than their 6" predecessors. Hasbro has showed us through Star Wars and GI Joe that a highly-articulated, highly-detailed, scale-accurate toy line can be made in the right hands. 3.75" is the way to go. People want 6" in part because they have invested in ML about 13 series in already, and these toys are as definitive as it gets. I say scrap the Megos and get to the smaller scale now. There is room for both, but for Joe, the focus should be 3.75" with 6" as secondary. For ML, it should be 6" as the primary scale, 3.75" secondary. Can't wait to see Galactus and Sentinels done by SOTA!
  22. I think he's referring to the Cover Girl and the Vietnam sets.
  23. What's nice is that with the single figures on the shelves at that price, parents think the lingering two-packs are a steal for $6.95 and are buying them up
  24. I just wish the ionic canisters came off. Nice dive bomb to Long Range. Didn't realize they were Kamikaze soldiers LOL
  25. It is such a toy commercial. I loved this episode. Since last episode, my stock in this series has gone way up! Another action-packed, fun episode. And we got a toy-accurate Kamakura to boot! I am desperately wanting a Jinx figure. And did you see those Dreadnok motorcycles?! Where is my Machete toy?! And that new Snake Eyes ninja training suit with the blonde hair hanging out over his eyepiece ROCKED. Those variants of him and Storm Shadow need to be made. I am so into this Sigma 6 line! I am hoping they introduce more joes in a the very near future. Dreadnoks with Japanese disguises would really hit home Zartan's disguising talents, like his cronies use it, too. A very entertaining half-hour. Looks like I need to buy a few more ninja bikes and ninja BATs! I am still waiting for a show-accurate Storm Shadow. And does anybody else think this episode should be a DVD with Jinx and another figure...maybe Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow in early training gear?
