Just doing the usual surfing this week on eBay and came across these. One of my LCS's also just got some of these in on Thursday, and said they were brand new. I think these are actually pretty nice. Nothing "cartoony" about them, rather more comic based art. Each measures 12 1/4 x 19 I believe. Not a bad size and they're only $10. Anyone else interested in these? Don't really care for this first one though. At first glance, I thought he was trying to save a big screen tv from falling... @loll@ My personal favorite is this next one... Here's a full shot of that one. I already ordered it too.

Deathlok, you seem to be too easily swayed. First with the megos, now with the 16" Barbies.... @nono@ @smilepunch@

ToyFare #116 Lion O Custom Figure!
Last Son of Krypton replied to Jin Saotome's topic in Custom Figures
Yep, saw it in the magazine. The detail on that is incredible! Love the swords too. They really need to produce an updated Thundercats line. -
They just look like $100 Barbie dolls to me. No Thanks.... @firedevil@ Not a big fan of the rooted hair either... @smilepunch@

Well, also in the Justice League Unlimited Season 1 episode (titled "The Doomsday Sanction" I believe) when Supes and Doomsday are battling in the volcano, he looks EXACTLY like this figure. For those that can, check it out and you'll see what I mean. Now why would they base a figure from this line on a JL episode is beyond me, but thats exactly what it looks like. Thats my best guess as the figure looks exactly the way he does in the volcano, but still, it was a dumb idea.

ouch... Ghost Rider flick getting slammed by the critics
Last Son of Krypton replied to pastwatch2001's topic in Marvel
You might wanna take a paper cutout that covers the ENTIRE screen instead... @loll@ @loll@ @loll@ The movie simply is what it is, as biglebowski suggested. I love it when people rag on a movie when A.) they haven't seen it or B.) they aren't even planning on seeing it. Overall, the movie was pretty cheap. Was it enjoyable at least? Barely. There was enough CGI to keep you at least looking forward to more of that anyways, but there just wasn't enough of it. And yes, the CGI stuff was AWESOME, but like I said, it could have used a lot more since that was the best part of the whole thing. This movie just really seemed to take a loooong time to really start moving, and by the time it did...poof...it was over. I was really looking forward to this movie. I like Nic Cage and Eva Mendes, and all the previews looked pretty good. I'm glad I saw it, but I'm glad I only paid the matinee price of $7, and even then, I still left feeling ripped off... -
Yep, got version 1, still need to get Returns, but I'll be getting this one as well. What can I say, I'm just a Superman whore. Wasn't sure of this Version 2 at first, but I like it more and more everytime I see it.

Read the threads posted on all the DCSH stuff. All the info you requested is in those threads, as well as our pissing and moaning about them.

ouch... Ghost Rider flick getting slammed by the critics
Last Son of Krypton replied to pastwatch2001's topic in Marvel
Well, I just saw it. I thought it was GREAT!!! Its right up there with Elektra in my book. We all remember how good that one was... Yeah, it WAS THAT BAD!!!!!!!!! A few cool scenes, but I expected more than 10 good minutes out of a 110 minute film. @onthecan@ -
Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, Toys-R-Us, Meijer, Big Lots, KB, and any other B&M store you can think of has these. You should be able to find Luthor and Darkseid in stores fairly easily these days. As for the new wave, they're out, just not everywhere yet and I think its because some stores might be afraid to order any when they still have 20 Supes and Bizarros clogging the pegs.

I have no doubts about that. I'd bet the farm on it that they WILL make a Cap movie, I was simply offering the reasoning as to why its taken so long. I just don't see a big draw for him outside of the U.S. While many countries accept our cultures, it doesn't necessarily mean that they'll go see a movie with a character who is basically garbed in the ol' stars & stripes. Most comic characters are much more generalized, and some happen to be well known internationally. Take Spidey for instance. He's very American, living in NY, donning red and blue, but yet has no real ties to America as a symbol, and yet he's easily recognized. Now take Superman. Undeniably the most recognizable comic icon of all time, but the main problem, at least in terms of an international selling point, is that he IS an American symbol. Now I'm not talking in terms of movies alone, but one could certainly take into account the latest films. Now, I'm a huge fan of Captain America, and would love to see the movie made, as I believe, if done correctly, it could be one of Marvels very best yet. It has a fairly grounded begining (at least as far as comics go) and I think it could be pulled off rather well, and the story could go in an infinite number of directions. I just don't think it would appeal to many outside of the U.S. in todays world simply because of the symbolism involved with the character.
-
Maybe they're just satisfied with the old ones since those were so good. @loll@ The biggest problem I see for Captain America, at least for studios, is the "America" part of his name. While it might do decent in the U.S, it just wouldn't carry enough appeal worldwide. Dollar signs being the bottom line, and not being able to bring in much outside of a domestic audience seem to be the key ingredients as to why there hasn't been anything so far.

I'll say midnight on Thursday, simply because, well, what else is there to do? Not to mention its been the only movie worth going to see in quite a while. I think The Departed and The Good Shepherd are the last two movies I've seen. The movie front has been rather dull since then.

WOW! Nice collection! Makes me glad though that I'm only sticking to certain stuff now. Theres just waaaaaaay too much to get into.....$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Thought about pointing that out to him, but after all, he's Canadian. Eh, what can you do? @can@ ...... @loll@ #US1#

They changed it. He doesn't have that stupid grin anymore.
-
That chicks crazy.... @pow@ And the all CAPS were driving me just as crazy as her stupid arguments. Another poster said it best... Rooted hair, IMO, just doesn't look "real" enough. Having the molded hair, they're able to capture the look of the comics much better. And Jase...damn the dictionary, there IS a difference between "dolls" and "action figures." @smilepunch@
-
I hope not. And with the waves and waves of Marvel stuff out now thats MUCH better quality, hopefully these will all be forgotten by everyone and they'll be no value to them whatsoever. Megos were the originals and thats why they're valued. There is lots of stuff that comes out and never increases in value, simply because they're bad proucts, reguardless of there "uniqueness." These are just sad. I could take a dump on my lawn, save it, but in 25-35 yrs it'll still be a turd... @poop# @loll@

Ugh...it better be sculpted. SCULPTED! Oh, and I hope it doesn't have the Linda Carter granny panties look to it either...

I can see the commercial..."Look who we've got our Hanes on now..." @loll@ -
Yeah, still see those on occasion at the LCS, Ebay, and shows. I laugh every time I see 'em. They were/are REALLY bad, and I really like 10"-12" figures, but those are just too horrendous.

Yeah, I think the males can get away with the same body sculpts, but the females might be harder to do. Most of the males have a similar bulk while the females range in size and shape from one character to the next. And yeah it sucks that the black costume is an incentive when considering the price like Shaun pointed out. I know I've mentioned before that my LCS's have only ordered ONE of each character so far, so it looks like to get the black costumed version, online is going to have to be the way to go for most. This could be bad, driving the price up rather quickly. I hope it doesn't, but you never know.
