  1. YES!! That's what I was thinking of! Of course, actually seeing it now, it's obviously not what they made the Stan figure from. You were right about that for sure. Thanks Ryno!
  2. Thanks, Ryno. I can see the similarities in the figures. I guess I must be either imagining the Peter Parker one, or misremembering it. Thanks for the help, guys!
  3. True. What I meant though, is which Spider-Man action figure did they remold in order to make the Stan Lee figure. Some kind of quick-change Peter Parker figure? I know I've seen the figure before, and have a vague recollection of it having a grey sweatshirt and backpack of some kind as Peter, but I can't recall what line it was in, or what it was called. Thanks for the help, though, synch.
  4. I keep looking at it, and it's right on the tip of my tongue, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyone?
  5. I really, really need to try to find that Showdown Thor figure.
  6. Just a couple new arrivals. Series 1 Iron Man added to the Work-In-Progress Armory... ...Juggernaut joins the ranks of the Brotherhood... ...and Iceman and Phoenix round out my 5 Founding X-Men.
  7. My son loves Pixar's 'Cars' toys, so after hearing the news today about the Sarge toy, I checked out the one we have. Sure enough, he's on the recall list. A return postage is being e-mailed to me to send him back, and they'll give me a $7 voucher to replace him.
  8. That's the best Aquaman ever made. That's when they wrote Aquaman as the King of Atlantis - a very similar personality and attitude as Prince Namor. Agreed. That's my favorite incarnation of Aquaman as well. If Mattel ever gets around to making that version, I'd be thrilled. But the version we are getting is mighty nice too. A good, solid representation of the 'superhero' Aquaman, wheras the hook-and-beard better represents him as the King of the Seven Seas.
  9. I never get tired of this... Mighty Avengers and FF... Close-up of the LIbrary set...
  10. Like so... I'm always trying to find ways to improve it, since Waiting has set the bar so high. Plus, mine is incomplete since I'm missing at least 4 armors that I can think of (Series 1, Gold, Stealth, and House of M). *grumble*

I agree with your Toad and Emma Frost suggestions, Rollo. I actually passed on the Toad when he was out, and use the X-Men Evolution Toad in his stead. I also think both a new Vision figure and a new Scarlet Witch might be in order. The Vision purely from the standpoint that the figure was both too skinny and too short, as well as having a real problem with the yellow paint apps. The Scarlet witch because of her face paint problem, and to a lesser degree, her body sculpt. Those are the main ones that stick out in my mind. Oh, and Hydro-Man. *shudders*
  12. Just thought I'd share the new Armory setup I threw together. I'd still like to try to refine it into something better (Waiting has set the bar high), but for now, this is where I stand... And a close-up of Tony's workstation... I wish I would have bought more of those Bridge sets when I saw them.
  13. I'm liking both the Cannonball and the Jean Grey Marvel Girl figs. Couldn't really give two shakes about Cable or Domino, but since I want the other two, looks like I'll be getting them. The Toys R Us Black Queen looks decent as well. Looks like Hasbro is making pretty good use of repaint materials. Hopefully, we'll get a decent USAgent out of it since a repainted Ultimate Cap would make a nice figure for him. Just replace the blue with black, and the white with black on the shield and he'd be good to go.
  14. I have to admit that most of the time, the multiple versions of characters like Wolverine and the Hulk irritate the living heck out of me. But Iron Man is one of those rare characters that really does lend himself well to having multiple versions released. Even though we can never have as cool a setup as Waiting does for his Armory. My picks... Top 5 Armors: 1) Heroes Return Armor (Busiek/Chen era) 2) Prometheus (aka "Heroes Reborn") Armor 3) Neo Classic Armor (post-Armor Wars) 4) Sub-Aquatic Armor 5) Stealth Armor (new sculpt) Top 5 BAFs: 1) Titanium Man 2) Ultimo 3) Iron Monger 4) Hulkbuster Armor v2 5) Controller Top 5 Villains: 1) Blizzard 2) Spymaster (Classic outfit) 3) Ghost (Classic outfit) 4) Force 5) Blacklash
  15. Northguard is another one of those characters with a really dynamic, iconic look to him. His costume is great.
  16. Well, while I'm not Canadian, I agree that Captain Canuck is a great character who I'd love to see as a part of this line. I discovered his comics back in the early 90s, and have had a soft spot for him ever since. So, I'll proudly add my name to the list.
  17. I used to read a lot of the Image titles that came out after they first formed oh those many years ago. The only one I stuck with for any significant length of time though was Savage Dragon. Currently, the books I read that you could call 'independent' (meaning non-Marvel or DC) are Invincible, Astounding Wolf-Man, and Noble Causes. I have read some books here and there over the years starring a lot of those characters, but generally not on any kind of regular basis. However, Monkeyman & O'Brien remains one of my all-time favorites.
  18. is that a custom Goddess thor?? You mean the Valkyrie on the right hand side? Yeah, she is. I made her back in the 90s around the time that the 5-inch Toy Biz Xena figures were out. I used a Xena body with a Dagger head, and the cape from a Total Justice Martian Manhunter. The base and weapons are from other various figures. I used to customize those size figures pretty heavily back in the day, but I haven't done anything like that in a good long time.
  19. So pretty... BBTS can't get these in and sent off to me soon enough!
  20. With respect to those at Shocker Toys, quite frankly I'd be happier if Marvel Toys got the liscense to do all the guys Shocker has listed. Sinply judging from the protos we saw, oh so many moons ago, the MT stuff looks infinitely better. IMHO, of course. And a Scud as done by MT? Jack Staff? The cast of Noble Causes and Invincible!?!? *faints*
  21. Just thought I'd share. I really liked the design that Marcos Martin (I think) did for Strange in the recent "Oath" LS. I never really liked the leotard that Strange seemed to wear on his legs. It just seemed...cheesy given his personality and station. So, I wanted to try to modify the figure to look more like he did in that project. Maybe something a little more dignified. So, I took that terrible Euro-trash Dracula figure from the ML Monsters Box set, and poped his legs off and onto the good Doctor. Ideally, I would have liked to swap the entire lower torso, but I didn't want to crack it open and risk breaking it. Like I said, nothing spectacular, but I think he looks quite a bit better. Hopefully Hasbro will release a new version based on the "Oath" design. Until then...
  22. I picked up Isis, Supernova, and Booster so far. Animal Man and Batwoman are waiting until next week. One thing that happened to me, and I hope everyone else is more careful than I when they do this, is that when I removed Skeets from the plastic, he's in there SO TIGHT that his verticle wing broke off. I'm going to superglue it back into place, but it's a shame that the toy companies feel like they need to make the plastic tray so snug that something like this might happen. Isis looks fantastic standing next to the Justice Black Adam, and Booster and Supernova will look very nice on my Justice League shelf. I am a little disappointed we got the (apparently Kevin Macguire judging by the face) 'Classic' Booster. I was looking forward to the one they originally solicited.q
  23. They were all done by an artist named Ronnie Thunderbolts. He hangs out on several other message boards. I agree, he's a fantastic artist.

  25. God, yes. Would it have killed Hasbro to actually take the time and effort to do this?
