  1. they're nearly 4 feet off the ground . my niece and nephews could probably swing them around a bit if they reached but they don't really even notice them anymore. they're out of their direct field of vision. out of sight, out of mind. i used to have them on stands like joe's. until a little kid at my house on new years somehow messed up the A strings slot on the nut of my aerodyne. anything other than a medium guage A string just slips right out. I have it ghetto rigged with a DIY twisty tie string tree until i can replace it. you can't see it in my crappy pics probably but I put some DR black beauty strings on it too... Its just beautiful
  2. Ya, I'm thinking about it. That's why I didn't put any toys up on the wall across from where the TV is. I was looking at these hangers specifically: http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Hercules-Stands-Wallmount-Guitar-Hanger?sku=453088 those look nice. I went with cheaper ones. theyre holding up good. I have those bigass drywall anchors they came with jammed into my cement board walls. they're not going anywhere http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/String-Swing-Wood-Guitar-Wall-Hanger?sku=450241
  3. I've seen it a few times. Great movie.
  4. nice..nice everything! that hellraiser looks sick. I love guitars that have a trim around the body! if you have any wall space left anywhere I definitely recommend some wall hangers. especially if there are ever any kids running around your house. you can't see it in the pic(crappy camera on my phone) but that all black bass has a nice almost maple looking trim around it. you can see it here http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Aerodyne-4String-Jazz-Bass?sku=511988 they made a tele too with the same paint job. if i ever get around to learning guitar I'm definitely gonna look into getting one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170459429849 It'd be better if it lacked the dot inlays like my bass does though i also used to have those two star wars posters up lol
  5. from what I understand they're Chinese knockoffs. I was tricked into buying a couple lots of figures that had cobra troopers" mixed in with the other figures. Low and behold they were fake. these look to be a bit nicer, as far as the elbow and shoulder rivets are concerned, compared to my fake blue troopers. you probably would not have liked buying the fake glider pilots because they were selling them like they were the real thing... you know for a hundred bucks or so
  6. No, its not--not by a long shot. Read any of the stuff by Joeseph Campbell on myths, or Christopgher Vogler's book The Writers Journey and you'll see that Star Wars is hardly an original story. In fact, its a very OLD story that has been told many, many times before. Arrow is correct. Sw is based on the Hero's Journal; in the hero's journal. If I remember from art history, the part where Sykwalker sees himself under Darth Vader's mask is a reference taken from the Hero's Journey. It is also based on the story of Gilamesh to so I have learned in art hist. Also Akira Kurosawa's The Hidden Fortress. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hidden_Fortress "George Lucas has acknowledged the influence of The Hidden Fortress on Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, particularly in the technique of telling the story from the points of view of the film's lowliest characters, C-3PO and R2-D2.[2] Kurosawa's use of frame wipes (sometimes cleverly hidden by motion within the frame) as a transition device also influenced Star Wars." Thanks. I forgot about Kurosawa's movies since they have a huge infulence on the Star Wars film. For example, Darth Vader and the Jedi are partly based on the samurai. Here is a url link that shows a comparsion between Kurosawa's movies and Lucas' SW series of films: http://www.secrethistoryofstarwars.com/kurosawa2.html Obi-Wan was initially going to be depicted by Toshiro Mifune, [/b]the same person in the Hidden Fortress movie. I didn't know that. That would have been epic!
  7. LOL brings back memories TM... thanks
  8. If anyone on here even cares, I added more stuff to the list. '85 crimson guards among them.
  9. I have you to thank for getting me into gundam model kits again!!! I'm in the process of selling off one toy line to only buy another grr...anyway I had a couple no grades when they first came out. an epyon and a wing zero... they were pretty sweet but i didn't have the skills back then to paint them. I just purchased 4 older no grades on ebay and 4 hg 1:144 serpent customs from HLJ. That should get me started lol. I'd like to get all the GW and GW EW kits eventually
  10. I wonder why people parrot this as if it were a problem with entertainment. I guess if people are objecting to it, then they do not watch most movies or television--because almost everything is derivative of something else--and has been for decades. I mean.......anyone watching and enjoying CSI? There's a dozen other shows that ape the exact same formula.....but are they are people's "do not watch list"?? Nope, lots of folks still watch. All it is is entertainment--and its been that way for a very long time. I enjoyed the movie for what it was. I'm not saying I didn't. I will, however never buy it and will probably never watch it again. Just like almost every movie I've seen recently... I already have 3 versions of the story, I might as well watch the one I like best. I'm just tired of the same stories with the same messages being released over and over and over and over again... I guess I'm just realizing/noticing it now. And lack of originality is a problem if you ask me. I know, nowadays its nigh impossible to create a story that's completely original, but I dunno... I just wish they would try harder or something.
  11. Avatar... Same old Hollywood BS shoved down our throats with a new, blue candy coating.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/GI-JOE-Rise-Cobra-Snake-Eyes-City-Strike-/120495736724?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c0e1b0794 ...riiiight...

  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fVE8kSM43I I love how he uses a telecaster lol You just wouldn't expect that hearing the song.
  15. Which is how I came out of it. It was entertaining enough, for a night out at the theaters, instead of home on the couch. Hollywood has lost it's way it seems and they just don't have the same sharpness of imagination and creativity (THAT'S APPEALING TO ANYONE ELSE, BUT THEIR OWN LITTLE CLICKS) so while I tend to (not always) follow the plot, it's development and whether or not I'm so immersed in it, that I'm actually CARING about what happens to the characters, over just waiting for the next action CGI sequence to marvel over, I can still just enjoy it for what it was, but what the original lacked in it's technical FX's capability, it was far more flowing and sensical in it's story-telling, and I actually WANTED Perseus and Andromeda to get together, I wanted the hero to defeat the demons and villains and I CARED when the good guys died. Not too much passion like that in Hollywood movies (especially remakes) today. The reason I don't watch as much television or movies these days ^. I'd rather read a good book. At least those still make you care about the characters...
  16. ehh i just don't like chinos voice very much. He makes me lose interest after the first minute or so of the all their songs
  17. I agree, if your sad about it now you'll probably regret it later. I have been sad before when I thought of selling, but I'm not this time. I just feel that joe is dead for me. I don't like any of the new stuff except for a few vehicles here and there, and the thing I liked most was discussing new figure on here. My only comments on new figures now would be "it sucks" and I don't see the fun in discussing older figures. Like, wheres the fun in discussing the color of the the wolverine's tow cables or something? idk...I don't think this lul will ever be over. Hopefully I'm wrong though and Joe goes back to how it used to be. I'll be keeping some favorites from the collection for sure. I'm still a joe fan and always will be! If I ever have kids and GI Joe is still around I'll be sure they get to have the experience I had of playing with them in the backyard. Yo Joe! #US1#
  18. they might as well just delete all the videos that aren't from vevo....douche bags.
  19. oOooOOOooo a whole 6 extra minutes???!?!?! MUST SPEND ANOTHER $14 TO SEE IT AGAIN (sarcasm...) Hopefully the humans come back in the sequel and just nuke the big blue bastards from orbit.
  20. Things that bothered me or I didn't care for in contrast to the original. Sam Worthingtons high and tight haircut for a Greek mythological tale. His adoption status over being raised by his mother. The addition of Hades. The azzhole/anti-hero nature (like usual nowadays) of pretty much everyone in movie, leaving few to cheer for and even LIKE! The change from having Acrisius and Argos be destroyed by the kraken, by order of Zeus IMMEDIATELY for having tried to kill his son Perseus and his mother, to having Acrisius be Calibos all as the same dude...Calibos was the son of Thetis, who Zeus deformed for having hunted down all his flying horses save for Pegasus. Not having Perseus fall in love with Andromeda and wish to free her from Calibos, but instead, have him trying to get back at Hades for killing his foster parents. Changing the love story for Perseus to some demi-God named LO???? The scorpions were over done and TOO big and ridiculous. The addition of Sheikh Sulieman (the thing that rides the scorpions?) Changing Pegasus from White to Black The anti-god attitude of Perseus ----------------------------------------- Medusa was cool though! Best update of the movie. one of my friends biggest complaints was how medusa just broke her bow in half in frustration. lol the whole time he was like " wth! why would anyone do that?"
  21. how did you go about selling yours? if you don't mind my asking. i was going through more stuff just now...i ran out of plastic baggies lol >.< it seems like a lot more figures when they're not lined up on big shelves. I'll post up another list next week.... list will include night vipers (funkscool), CGI, CG, Black dragon ninjas, red ninjas, comic pack troopers, desert scorpions... Whatever doesn't sell here or yojoe in the next few weeks I'll throw on ebay and take the paypal and ebay butt reaming...
