  1. For me it depends on the design/construction. Has it been modified from the original and if so is an improvement or not. When this question came up the first character that popped into my mind was G1 Optimus Prime. When released back in the 80's toy safety was not as strict so you had realistic style smoke stacks that rise above the shoulder. With the reissues they have been truncated. And then there is the issue with Megatron's original mold. Because it was/is so realistic looking at a quick glance now any gun Megatron has to have a brightly colored tip.
  2. Thundercracker is actually the last of the 6 main seekers to get released. I haven't heard anything about a re-release but Skywarp and Ramjet were released previously. Skywarp was in a Target exclusive 2 pack w/ Ultra Magnus in 2007: (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=skywarp+ultra+magnus&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=6498541811611370227&sa=X&ei=9-aHTo7jOunSiALg5rHUDA&ved=0CDIQ8wIwAQ) / (http://www.transformersclassics.com/ultra-magnus-vs-skywarp-2-pack.html). Ramjet was also released in 2007 (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=ramjet+classics&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=FJZ&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvns&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1144&bih=723&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=3779945389118972684&sa=X&ei=GeiHTuifL-nUiAKzkK2nDA&ved=0CFwQ8wIwAA( / (http://www.transformersclassics.com/ramjet.html).
  3. $499 for an incomplete San Diego Comic Con Exclusive Sgt Slaughter figure - http://cgi.ebay.com/SD-Comic-Con-Exclusive-GI-JOE-SGT-SLAUGHTER-ERROR-/330456296761?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf0baed39
  4. The more Joe cons the better but there is actually an annual one in Northern California (Sacramento to be exact). Did a little Googling and found in the Socal Dreaknoks forum (http://www.socaldreadnoks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=307&highlight=&sid=6cefc9b0a3b56bfb69ca93d0ad6f95bc)that it has been delayed due to venue issues until April
  5. You are probably thinking of Alyosha - http://www.brokenarrowtoys.com/ . Another group that I have come across is Slayer Design Studios - http://slayerdesignstudio.3dcartstores.com/ . And if its weapons - http://www.marauderinc.com/servlet/StoreFront
  6. Unfortunately this figure was canceled. There were a limited number with Hasbro Markups that made it on to e-bay. Even with Hasbro's recent change to stick with the current POC line that figure in that form will never be released because the head was modeled after Rachel Nichols. I am hoping though that with Hasbro's about face we will see the figure with a new head (even if the body is just a repainted version of the Resolute Scarlett body). The accessories and the paint scheme made for what looked to be (IMO)one of the best Scarletts produced to date.
  7. Unfortunately these are as of now canceled Target Exclusives. I am hoping that these are rescheduled in the future but I will not hold my breath. A couple of the MISB Air Assault Glider with Capt. Ace made it on to EBay . . . I don't know if any of the others were far enough along in production to have samples hit EBay or not. The artwork is really great on these pieces as well and I think that more than anything is why I will miss these.
  8. Hey Clam can you please PM me with where you found them. I hit 5 Ross Stores in the Sac area today and came up with squat. Or if you got extras maybe we can talk trade. Thanks.
  9. In the commentary for the movie I seem to recall Sommers and Company stating she was dead . . . doesn't mean that the film itself didn't leave an opening for retcon but as of now she is supposed to be dead. There is also some interesting info regarding the final battle between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow if you listen to the commentary.
  10. Would it be okay if I said I did it for the Larry Hama comic and since the Ice Dagger is a pre-ROC mold the only blasphemy was the Gunship?. . . not that that is the case . . . just asking I didn't have any trouble with the Ice Dagger I ordered from Walmart.com.I used the site to store thing. It is hit and miss . . . as I said my Gunship with the comic was shipped inside another box whereas the Ice Dagger received no additional protection . . . it may have something to do with where it is shipped from . . . warehouse location vs. warehouse location . . . warehouse vs store . . . for whatever reason Site To Store did not appear as an option for me (maybe it was because of the comic or I just missed selecting something) . . . your Ice Dagger may have already been at the store . . . shipped in a Hasbro box and just reallocated from store inventory so that may explain why yours was fine . . . bottom line is I just want people who want to preserve the packaging to be aware of the fact that Walmart may not ship our orders inside another box.
  11. Would it be okay if I said I did it for the Larry Hama comic and since the Ice Dagger is a pre-ROC mold the only blasphemy was the Gunship?. . . not that that is the case . . . just asking
  12. For those wanting to take advantage of the Wal-Mart Joe offers online be warned that your item may ship with no protection. I just placed an order for the Bravo Vehicle pair of the Cobra Gunship and Ice Dagger so I could get the exclusive comic. The Gunship and comic came in a box while the Ice Dagger arrived separately without any packaging to protect it. My Ice Dagger box had writing on it, missing flaps exposing the lower part of the box where the accessories are packaged and the packing slip for the order taped to it. So if you care about having your boxes in good shape, be warned that Wal-Mart may ship them without additional packaging.
  13. Rare my @$$ http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ME:B:SS:US:1123 . . . Best creative use of keywords to try and fool people . . . and the award goes to this Jerk
  14. What GI Joe Means to Me . . . GI Joe represents my happiest childhood memories (except for the time my buddy got the last Alpine because he could pedal faster than I could but I digress) . . . trips to the ma and pop toy store where I got to be the first to pick through the new shipments fresh out of the case (If only I had been wise enough to get the full cases then not to mention the listen and fun Tripwire) . . . hours upon hours of creating epic battles in my bedroom and then "resetting" for the next time . . . getting to live in a world where the good guys won and evil was vanquished . . . simply put . . . when I was a kid the world of GI Joe was where I would go to be happy
