  1. Scarecrow and Two Face for me, maybe Grey Ghost and probably pass on HARDAK. I'm assuming this is it for the Batman TAS line and that's fine by me.

I look at it this way: If I go to Walgreens right now, I'm not going to find the new ML Thing exclusive. I'm going to leave empty handed and it won't be because a dirty rotten scalper got there first. It will be because Thing is not out yet. So then why are there Walgreens Things on ebay? It's because some people got them early by some other means than walking into a US Walgreens. I don't know how, but good for them. These Things are selling right now for $50-$60 to the people who don't want to wait. I'm not mad at those sellers. They're not the reason I don't own a Thing right now. I don't own a Thing right now because it's not widely available yet. I got a case of GOTG2 figures early. Before they were widely available. No one went to Target looking for Death's Head and came up empty because of me. I didn't want half of them and I sold them to people who don't want to wait. However......if you want to think I scalped those figures, I can live with that. But there was nothing dishonest going on. I got the figures early, I chose to sell to people who didn't want to wait. They knew exactly what they were buying, what was included in the sale, and what they would be paying. There were no surprises for my buyers and they were all satisfied.

I'll always consider this wave a major coup for me. I was able to snag a case early, before its wide release. I only wanted Nebula, Gamora, Rocket, and the Mantis BAF and to get her I knew I had to buy everybody. The same day I got the case in the mail I took out the BAF parts and put Death's Head, Adam Warlock, Ex Nilly Nilly, and man scarf Star Lord on ebay for $50, $40, $30, and $20 respectively. They all sold that day and I made my money back on the case. So I effectively got the guys I wanted for free. This is as close as I've ever gotten to being a dirty, rotten scalper. I justify this by telling myself I never would have bought them had they not had the BAF pieces and the fact that I was not holding a gun to anyone's head forcing them to buy. I think if I would have gotten the case even a week later I never would have gotten those prices or may have even ended up being stuck with them. We jump through a lot of hoops for this hobby.

There are some gems in that wave. Gamora, Manits and Nebula are all stunning.

2018 SDCC - DC Mattel Aquaman Figures

The fact that it's tied to a movie gives me hope that stores will stock these. Unlike the Clayface wave. I'd be down for a whole set just because Aquaman!

    Star Wars Toy Hauls

I was in Europe a couple of years ago (London, Paris) I was able to hit a couple of comic stores but was not able to find a place to hunt for any older figures. I was fantasizing about finding some European Tiger Force figures for cheep but it was not to be. That's OK, it's probably good that I passed on this. I don't need EVERYTHING.

I walked away from a vintage Yack Face today. LCS has one for $400. I have never seen on in person and I was torn over what to do. I have a $100 store credit for that place plus a 10% discount so I could have gotten him for $260. I don't know if I did the right thing or not....
  9. Preordered mine as well. Gamestop's shipping is such that it does not combine shipping on one order, so you have to pay $5-something shipping for each turtle, which sucks but it's not a deal breaker. Some are speculating that it's just a pre-order thing and that they may adjust the price once they're in stock ready to ship? We'll see. Either way this is a good thing all around. As for the cost of these vs the cost of an SDCC exclusive, I'm seeing a lot of people complaining about this and I don't get it. If I could get the SDCC set at cost, I'd do it.
  10. Forget Thundercats? No way! I'm trying to build up my vintage LJN collection right now! I have Lion-O complete, I have Tigra, Wiley Cat and Wiley Kitt, Panthro with half his nunchucks (anyone have the red half willing to sell?)...... OH....you're talking about NEW Thundercats,. Yes, forget them, AND forget Mattel. I've never regretted not getting into their subs, be it for Thundercats or MOTU. I don't need that headache at all, and I'd be perfectly happy trying to track down vintage figures from either line ranter than deal with their BS. "The burden is on the collector?" That's been their policy since way back in the days of that Toy Guru guy, there's nothing new here. Hard pass.
  11. I passed on those figures because I had the SH Figuarts versions and also......I just had a feeling these EXACT figures would come to us some day. I actually have very few American released Bandai PR figures....

Star Trek Select 7" Borg Figure From DST

Definitely maybe for me. I have an itch for some Star Trek lately. I still have an Art Asylum Picard and Data and this one would go well with them, I think.

Good luck on that. I'd take an extra one of those too........so would a lot of people.

    Star Wars Toy Hauls

I got very lucky today and scored a Gamorrean Guard from Target! This guy is a personal favorite from the movie (a triumph of practical effects) and the toy is going to make grown men giddy. A perfectly executed action figure in every way! Well worth the hunt and the $30 price tag. This one will show up on a "Best of" list at year's end in a very high spot.
