  1. Well that's sort of the catch.

When asked, Mattel will tell you this is a "Collector's Line".

Then they put mass market peg warmers in there.

Which is it? Collector's line or Mass Market line Mattel? Pick a side a stick with it.

As is, the distribution of these figures is still completely bungled so seeing yet another Batman / Superman warming shelves is just spit in collector's eyes. Then when they don't move, retailers don't re-order cases or cycle inventory, so you get screwed. <= Insert Joe Pesci drive thru rant here.

I have not seen hide nor hair of Wave 11 at retail yet FFS. :|

Well, like someone said, Mattel is re-realeasing the popular characters under ths special packaging not taking the spots of other figures because kids would buy them: Nightwing and Batman are far more popular than iron or robotman. If these (popular characters)sell, retailers would still order this line. Maybe they´re pegwarming because there are two many, that´s a fact, but those aren´t targeted to collectors, they´re aimed at kids. Sides, they´re not taking any spot of other characters down the series, and also provides collectors alternatives to get different individual versions of characters that came in packs, like superman and batman from the 5 pack.

There´s one thing we will have to live with: Mattel re-issuing appealing and popular characters to kids, because according to Mattel, they sell.

  2. Don´t know what u think, but I don´t dig Aquaman with that olive green tone Mattel used on him. Manta is ok. Batman looks good, but I don´t like the cape, which could have been retooled a bit, something like Zipline batman, still is a nice repaint. I´m not a comic accurate freak, but I would´ve enjoyed the figure if it had sculpted the shirt line, correct gloves and cape. doesn´t bother me that much, but I would have prefered the original one.

Also check the Bizarro / Superman pack Mattel shows at the back of the card of the Dynami Duo pack

  3. I like the idea of the All Star Figures: The most important characters o the DC Universe packaged in the 75th Anniversary package is something MOC collectors wouldn´t pass.If I have extra money, I´ll try to get characters I like in the special edition package and leave them there.

  4. Again like all big characters they are drawn differently depending on the artist.

This isn't the 90's anymore and DC isn't Image Comics. They're good about maintaining editorial consistency throughout the Green Lantern titles and Kilowogg is always on model. He's consistently large throughout all of the Green Lantern titles.

In all my years of reading comics I don't recall ever seeing a human sized, or slightly above human sized Kilowogg.

If you can show me evidence otherwise, outside of your opinion I'm open to being proven wrong.

Well, I always thought of Kilowog as a big character, as tall as modern Thing (yes, the big, buff tall thing that most artists draw , not the 6 ft.tall "original" Thing, but Pacheco´s comparison drawing make Kilowog look just a bit taller than average. Like someone said, artists should stick to a "on model" reference. I´ve seen some artists take "free interpretation" too far.

  5. I guess is height is appropiate.I always take the toons as main reference, cause they usually depict the characters with standard measures, you know, like superman, batman, green lantern, being regular guys, Kilowog, Bane, bigger than regular, Darkseid, bigger than bigger than regular. Kilowog, on the other hand, looks gigantic,I don´t know his height, but shouldn´t he be just an inch bigger than the rest of the figures?

  6. the height of the base will allow the figure just to float some milimeters off the ground.

this is what stopped me from getting them right away. they come with different size clips to fit the different body types. I wonder if the clip for the female body type would fit around one of the bigger figures' thigh??

mmmm...i didn´t think about that...the thing is that just one base has the interchangeable clip, and we would have to get one set per every figure we would like to display flying in case the womanclip fits the thigh...

  7. I remember reading Matty won´t be releasing anymore two packs on Matty, because the sales weren´t as good as they expected. I read it in a Q&A session in other website. They plan to release more two packs, yes, but not thru Matty. They´re considering store exclusives, like the new Batman/Robin, Aquaman/Black Manta 2 packs.

About the color of fear, I got to the site on Dec 15th and in the main page, color of fear two pack was "sold out", then I got to the DCU section, and they were still available. I hope Mattel didn´t forget to update the status of the pack.

  8. great pics pooda :) If that color of fear two pack is not around by the 15th next month I am going to scream!

I´m hoping that as well. I guess if this swet hasn´t sold out, is because most people are waiting to combine shipping with other figures they want.

  9. I would hope Mattel doesn't make any of these except maybe Batgirl.

Wouldn't it make more sense to make Dick Batman, Damian Robin, and Red Robin?

Haven´t read the story, but i guess these figures are based on a story arc within the dc universe, not breaking its continuity. Therefore, this figures could be made into Mattel´s dc universe line, not now, but in future waves when most characters get their plasic treatment.

  10. Nice set, but i don´t know if i should wait to order it with Winston and Survival suit Bruce Wayne, to combine one shipment. I hope they last at least one month.

I ordered it with DCUC stands. Shipping was the same.

Yes, but they come out in different months, Winston and Batman come out in Dec., meaning i would have to pay $30 for each shippment.

  11. shokker, the next figure will be the Batman Begins Bruce Wayne Prototype/Survival Suit.

I'm on the fence on that one.

i got him today and he is a good figure. is he worth 28 usd? hell no. same as with ray from ghostbusters. good figure for me but it could have been way better if he had hid goggles and a different belly but hell i love these movies so much, so to hell with it. i collect because i love them. i am not they guy who wanna collect them because the movie is still in theaters. i just hope that they do well enough for a ducard and a gordon figure. nurse joker would be awesome too. so what is the next figure? is it that sonar batman? does it have light feature? if not, then i pass.

oh that figure is a must for me. come on the first batman suit? i hope that they do something like that in a comic style version for dcuc. this one looks cool. i think the only figures i pass right now, is the sonar batman and scarecrow figs.

You're definitely right about passing on the Scarecrow and Sonar Batman figs. Those sculpts are laughable. And to think they actually have the balls to try and make money off of them? Definite lol. Now that I think about it, I may purchase the Survival Suit Bruce Wayne. I'm just "ehhh" on the removable mask. I'd prefer another head sculpt with the mask on.

same like me. i would have prefered a sculpted head too. the head looks so big with the mask but i think that i would have displayed it without the mask anyway. so he can hold this mask in his hands and with his head looking down. you know like the guy who is still thinking about, if he should do this or not. right beore the jump to become batman. i bet that i will love this figure more then any other in the line. @loll@

Def., protype suit is a must have, I may have to buy another one, and wait for Dent, swap heads to have Bruce Wayne in suit. I may have to get three of those jokers just for the head, but 60 it´s a bit expensive just for head swaps. . .
