  1. The only one i don´t like is guardian, the rest are awesome! I hope i get variant Mantis, don´t mind getting the regular version, but i prefer the variant,.
  2. Moshbot

    Big thanks ...

How about a wave 5?? They´re impossible to find! And how about a new contest based on talent?
  3. Jus like pooda said, TBML weren´t the definition of tight joints. Crappy character selection has more to do with DC as a company and what they´ve come up with. Distribution? Same problems with ML6, and some other´s i can´t remember at the moment. You can even toss in QC issues, and i guess TB would still fail in that department.
  4. Hey, Janmugar, something else to add to action figure history...the first attempt of a super articulated figure was spiderman, from the Spiderman Animated series. It was called Super Articulated Spider-man, I guess, prior to the Spider-man classics which lead to Legends
  5. I was one of the guys who didn´t see him as the Joker phisically speaking, but never doubted of his acting skills. It turned out he impressed me with this particular interpretation of the Joker! Congrats to his family and of course, to Ledger wherever he is. R.I.P.
  6. Janmugar Prime, after reading ur post, DCUC, as a toyline, and IMO, is the result of evolution. Sculpt and articulation don´t interfer with looks and functionality. Let´s see how action figure history keeps evolving and who knows, in the future, maybe there will be a different plastic and tecnique to craft figures that will make look most of our actual figures look like crap in the future.
  7. LOD!!!We better watch out!!!!
  8. Nice Pooda, keep em coming!!! Where did u get the wave 7 figures?? online??
  9. ditto...I am at the limit of standing Hasbro´s elbos joint, but I just HATE those knees. . .
  10. My etailers are Corner Store Comics and Big Bad Toy Store. GREAT service, no complaints at all!! Theire answering capacity is effective!! And I live In Mexico, so, I guess that has to add some service value to them
  11. Here´s how the bases look like http://www.411beanies.com/1capt/flash5.jpg
  12. Good luck everyone! One question. Can I use Photoshop for backdrops and effects??
  13. Looks much better, and i notice u changed his hands as well. What´s the recipe?
  14. I guess their placing all their time and creativity in the new MU line, get profit from it and with the sales earnings, afford the bigger and a bit more expensive line in the second semester of this year.
  15. I don´t like em either... The "DC Universe" legend is small, barely noticeable and because of the fact is a traslucent blue, u can see the legal data on the back of the stand "dc comics, all rights reserved, made in chine, 12414c" something like that
  16. I believe there are some points we have to consider for both lines. Sculpt: ML Started GREAT with the first bulk bodies Cap and IM had, they´re "proportions" were more comic book based than the actual Paul Harding´s sculpts, which are more "real". To me, the transition from the first body sculpts to the newer skinny ones is what affected ML. Place Series 1 Cap America next to WM Jhonny Storm, and they seem to be from different lines. Fault goes to Hasbro. Harding is a great sculptor but mattel Managed to shrunk the sculpts. FF Silver Surfer, Nemesis Punisher and Nemesis DD are from the same sculptor, and I can almost bet their sizes don´t match. ML, sculptwise, is a mess. DCUC doesn´t have that problem, all their sculpts are consistent and uniform, thanks to Mattel´s vision of hiring a team of great sculptors. These figs look , as some poster said, out of the pages of the comic books. Which leads me to point number two. Paint: From the figures I´ve got, online mostly, I haven´t had any sloppy paint apps, the eyes are always in their place, skin tones are not pale, colors are vibrant and, overall, no problems thereexcept for that weird wash on Red Tornado´s yellow lines. In general, they are correctly applied. Marvel Legends goes the same way, except for recent Hasbro´s deliverings, like FF wave pale skin tones, some figs have washes, some don´t, the eyes on Hasbro´s figs are sometimes wrongly painted. TB´s paint apps were not that vibrant and brilliant, and it was unconsistant. Modern Armor IM paint was dark for my taste, Hulk has gone from different green tones, from olive to grass green. Some figs got shades, and some didn´t, like GG. But then we have figs like Gren Hulk, from fing fang foom´s wave, which has great shading and a nice green tone. DCUC is almost a hit when it comes to paint apps, while ML is a hit or miss. Articulation: ML, Period. One thing I love of ML is the double knee and elbow joints that help the figure to make more natural and dynamic poses. The toe and finger articulation is just too much, as long as the fig can old a weapon, it doesn´t matter if their hands are like DCUC Batman, which can both hold a weapon and still have the fist form. BAF: Both have had good ideas for BAFS, but ML has done better and bigger bafs than DCUC. ML has given us Galactus. Sentinel,Fing Fang Foom, Apocalips, Giant Man, to name the big ones and reason the BAF concept was created. DCUC´s first big BAF is going to be Giganta, so, ML takes this one. Army building: Hasbro already started with this concept with the two packs with shield agents and hand ninjas, skrulls and krees, concept that is taken by DC with the parademons. I can´talk about distribution, cause Mexico alwys has had distribution problems with all lines. I could even talk about scale, and DCUC would be the winner. It all depends in what is important for the collector. In my case, articulation and sculpt are what i look in a figure, not mattering if it has a base or the whole line deals with the baf concept and DCUC, so far, is taking the lead.
  17. It seems to be a Gentleman Ghost retool. Is u see a bicep swivel in GG, then this fig will. This is a great fig! I just don´t like the hair style that much, but that´s just me.
  18. I know, it´s a pain in the ass to get this great figs.
  19. Te refieres a WAL-MART, LIVERPOOL, COMRMEX, Y SORIANA?, ó a JUGUETRON y JUGUETIBICI? those retailers need to sell, specially in the Holidays seasons, SUPERHEROES have always been a great deal to offer to consumers AT RETAIL. Y No necesariamente me refiero solamente a los niños. The problem is the availability of those products at everyone's reach. I know that u can order online at your own risk, but, let's face it. It's not the same that you see pegs of the toys you collect near your home AT COMPLETELY FAIR PRICES, that instead for you to risk your toys and money alike. Yo compre mi set de DCUC serie1 en WAL-MART el año pasado y pagué MX$500 por el set. and NOW every figure (IF I EVER SEE ONE) in the aftermarket like TOY&HOBBY SHOPS where the (as i call them) "monotraficantes" or "toydealers" sell them at MX$400 EACH!, or MX$2500 for a set! WTF!. If u believe that there are not so many fans here in MX or in any LA Country, then you haven´t visited a COMICSHOP like COMICASTLE or any other small stores in MEX. Retailers in general. Wal Mart, Comercial Mexicana, Soriana, Aurrera. And $500 pesos a set?? weird, i got them in Mexico too at $200 a piece, unless they got a discount, but everywhere I looked at, they were from $200 to $230. Yes, we have "toydealers" or scalpers that sell $300 pesos a piece ( around 22 U.S. dollars), but i don´t get my figs from them. There are fans, can´t deny that, but there aren´t as much fans in Mexico as in the States, which doesn´t justify bringing more figs from unknown characters to kids (which they think is the target market). They think " who the heck is sinestro, deathstroke, captain atom, ares??" "Is there a show that le´t kids know who this guys are?? no?? then forget it, we are not interested"
  20. Some look cool, like deadpool, ironman and bullseye, but human torch, wolverine. . . don´t know...too bad, cause most of them looked promising...i´ll have to see them in person
  21. I think the real deal is our retailers DON´T want any other stuff that is not endorsed by a show or a movie. I used to work for a toy company, and they had catalogues in spanish, and everything that Mattel offered, it´s just some retailers don´t want them. I´ve ordered everything online, but in the end, due to taxes and import fees, i still have to pay as if i was getting the figs here in Mexico, instead of the low price at the states. I believe there are not as many fans in Mexico or toehr countries as in U.S. or U.K.
  22. Absolutely!! It´s a great set. Just two things. For those who don´t open their figs, it would have been nice to change the backdrop graphics with Adam Strange and Starfire drawings, instead of DCU 1 graphics. And two...Starfire has the mos strange breast I´ve ever seen, maybe that´s how Tamaran females look like. Everything else is great, sculpt, paint apps, no problem with my set.

    DCUC Wave 6

I believe they are shipping cases of a Wave of 6 without the regeneration suit. So I THINK that's Shazam, Hawkman, Dr. Impossible, Killer Moth, Red/blue superman, Mr. Miracle I just read that info on their site, thx! I hope I get a Black Supes now.

    DCUC Wave 6

Totally!!!! I order from CSC because they had complete set with variants. I live in Mexico, and is IMPOSSIBLE to find DCUC, because retailers or Mattel, don´t know who to blame, don´t bring them to Mexico. I guess I´m stuck here and wait what CSC does with this.
