is storeon44 still active? i ordered from there and they were good too
Funny story I had with 44. I placed an order once with them for mess of stuff. After a month AND charging my credit card for @$120 I recieved nothing. I tried calling, email, anything I could no reply. Out of nowhere almost 2 months in I get a note saying all of the stuff I ordered is out of stock and I will get a refund plus the one figure he actually had in stock apparently for free. I figured it was the least he could do and actually made me consider buying again from his site. Then another 3 weeks go by and nothing, so I called the credit card company and reversed the charges. One week after that, 44 refunds the money. I didn't catch the refund b/c he didn't tell me it was finally on it's way and the credit card bill was a month out. As a result I got the refund and the credit at the same time (apparently he was sooo behind that he didn't have time to challenge the dispute in the required time frame). I ended up getting double the cash back. I emailed ONCE telling him I had recieved double back but no response so I decided not to continue to bother and kept the money. @firedevil@

Hey I've ordered from Smalljoes a lot of times, and have always gotten my order fast. I am nothing but completely happy with them.
Like I said, the problem with Smalljoes is when they screw up your order, hopefully you wont go through that mess.

Custo,
I'd be careful with Smalljoes. The guy takes forever to get orders out and as I found out the HARD way, he is nice enough unless he screws up your order in which case he becomes a real S.O.B.. Had two orders sent incorrectly from him and ended up having to take a loss in the matter. He was a right wanker when it came to email responses too. Be careful. I find you learn most about online retailers when you have an issue and they have to show their "customer service" skills. Unfortunately not this guys fortee. I have found GIJOEHQ.com to be the only one of the bunch to get the whole customer service aspect. I have had incorrect orders before and he fixed them and/or responded super-fast and in a kind manner. The only other site I have had respond that fast and well is BriansToys but they are waaayyyy expensive.
Outside of the big boys (Hasbrotoyshop, Amazon/TRU and KBkids) the only reliable, well priced site I have dealt with is GiJoeHQ. Unfortunately the small guys just dont seem to get it. Prices are one thing, shipping time is important but more than anything is customer service. In the past I have had run ins with SmallJoes, StoreOn44 and BigSnowTradingCo that have had mixed results, mostly uneven and somewhat negative. I have never had an issue with FiguresDirect but after reading this I will probably not shop there anymore.

Hey, the spare arms fit onto the "Backup" peg holes just like some of the guns do. Now my Bat has 4 arms, and a heck of a short reach.

I wasn't even gonna touch these even if I DID want them. they're just too expensive. Why would I pay 20 bucks for a 8 inch weird figure when I can get 2 3.75" figures that actually LOOK good for 8 bucks. Sometimes less.
The price is the biggest reason I haven't bought them at all myself. I wasn't the biggest fan of the 8" figures but I was thinking I would buy them anyways as keepsakes and to help the entire line keep going but the cost for the figures stopped me immediately. I might end up with the whole set when the stores knock them down to $3-$4 a pop eventually, that's how I got the 12" Ninja set and the Talking Duke, those thinga are still on the clearence shelf for $5-$6 a pop at TRU.
The only figure I have seen selling out at my local TRU/Target seems to be Storm Shadow. He is there one day en masse then sold out a day later.

I hate to admit this but I picked up 9 of the cancelled Mission Disk O-ring Storm Shadows from the Hong Kong guy on eBay. They serve as my Ninja Viper elite forces along with the red and blue versions. While I don't want them produced to protect my investment @hmmm@ I must admit that I am a huge fan of repaints. I realize alot of people don't like, in fact hate repaints but I always thought they were a cool way to differentiate between different roles within a units hierarchy, ala the way you have Cobra Soldiers, Squad Leaders and Officers. Anyway, to get back to point, I agree with having the Mission Disk figure produced so as to provide a good (and cheap for Hasbro) fan and collector oriented Storm Shadow. In fact I would LOVE a six pack set at TRU with the White Version, a Red, a Blue, a Brown (white mask) and a Brown (Red Mask) and something new, maybe all Black. Stormie could be the leader of the new and improved Cobra Ninja Farce team. All in favor say, "AYE!" #US1#

The unknown Cobra guy is a dead ringer for the Black Major from the Red Shadows/Action Force line.
