Hey Lemure- I have the classic version. A word of advice...if you decide to get that one do yourself a favor and get the exclusive chrome version that just came out. A little more money, obviously, but it looks about a 100x better than the version I have.

$150 Million Pay-off to Support HD-DVD, but for 18 months
biglebowski9999 replied to RC_rika's topic in Transformers
From what I've heard, the market penetration for High Def DVDs is still so small that the 2-1 Blu-Ray sales ratio is meaningless. It's like me saying I have twice as much money in my pocket than you, but I only have $4 and you have $2. Big deal....neither of us really have anything, right? I think the format war is going to go on for a while and I'm more than happy to sit on the sidelines until it ends. -
Some people just have too much skills...

Marvelous Collections: BLACKCAT2006 aka Wendy Kelly Dele Robbins

1. Stellar collection, as I've said before. 2. Why do you have so many names? -
Note to self: Stop reading ML Wish Threads

This thread cracks me up. They're too expensive...yet they're twice as big and cost twice as much which seems perfect to me. How much should they cost? They're too big...yet people say there is not enough released. Well, if they are too big to begin with, would you actually collect more then if they released more? LOL. No wonder no one listens to collectors...they don't really know what they want at all. I can understand why people prefer the 6"...they're the standard, they've been around for years and many people don't want to change scales. All those reasons make sense to me. The rest...well, they're completely counterintuitive. Me personally, I would prefer 2 decent Icons for $40 over 6-8 average figures and a lame BAF for $60-$80 any day of the week, but that's just me.

$150 Million Pay-off to Support HD-DVD, but for 18 months

Exactly. No point in worrying about it until you have the proper TV, which most people don't. And stand-alone players are still too expensive IMO. I don't know a single person that has a next-gen player without having either a PS3 or 360. -
I was looking at that one the other day at allposters.com. They have it on sale for only 5 bucks.
-
I don't get why people gripe about the price. Icons are twice as big (at least) than the 6" and they cost twice as much...makes sense to me. Do I think they are worth $20? Maybe, maybe not. But I know the 6" MLs sure aren't worth $10. Also, the DCSH 12" equivalents have been $30 the whole time that TB was charging $15 and Hasbro was charging $20, so it could be worse.

Same here. Their stuff was an 'toon-accurate as it gets.

Jin, you deserve a lot of props. I don't even need to talk about your work because you know you are talented. What I'm talking about is the stuff you do in ToyFare (although I'm sure they compensate you), your tutorials on your site, etc. I've read the questions in a lot of your auctions and I see people asking you very specific questions about how you did something and you always seem to lead them in the right direction. Many people would not do this as there is the possibility that you are creating competition for yourself or at the very least someone may try to do it themselves rather than bid on your's. You're a stand-up guy.

Were you able to find any pics of it online?

Stopped collecting 6" MLs months ago and still buy every Icon.

No, the payout as for ALL Paramount titles...not just Transformers. -
no pics?

Yeah, the only problem w/ Icons is where to put them all, lol.

I was wondering that, too. I think you might be able to buy one out of some guy's trunk for $100 on the street, but not at a store, lol... -
Looks good.
-
Love the cheesecake but, yeah, $150 is a little pricey for a DST statue. They're not on the same level as Bowen or Sideshow, but that price makes it seem like they think they are, lol.
-
It is just "okay" for me. Some of the Icons line looks good but I'm not a big fan of this one. Face is off....
-
Very odd choices, but I will probably get them. I'm just ecstatic that they are continiuing the line! So, I wonder who the 3rd one will be??
-
Point taken. Although this thread has been pretty tame by the standards around here...there hasn't been much bashing at all in this particular thread. What never ceases to amaze ME is how people love to bash ToyBiz for their poor quality, poor distribution, over-articulation, over-washing, etc. and yet consider themselves collectors of the line. If the figures blew as bad as some people around here claim, how did they get so popular??? @hmmm@

Now, that I think about it, you're right. Both versions were out right from the get-go. I guess I never classified it as a variant per se because it was such a ridiculously lame and easy "variant" to do. Should have known better, lol.
