  1. Bionic Man? Is that anything like The Six Million Dollar Man?
  2. DAI REN OH? Oh, yeah! Isn't that from one of those weird Japanese versions of Power Rangers?
  3. Especially for a line of martial arts fighters. Granted, Cobra Kai (and Karate Kid before it) style martial arts are a little more grounded than your usual "Hollywood-Fu," but with that crap articulation and those hard skirts, forget it!
  4. You know? I might just have forgiven this line ALL it's shortcomings . . . if they would've just given us a Daniel capable of doing the friggin' Crane kick.
  5. Yet another "life-support" cash-grab for Playmates. I honestly feel sorry for them.
  6. Zhane of KO-35 was Red Space Ranger Andros' best friend and partner until he was severely injured in battle. Afterward, Andros put him in a cryo-chamber and kept him hidden in a secret room aboard the Astro-MegaShip (as you do), until he was later awoken, stabilized his powers by getting struck by lightning, and joined the PRIS team as the sixth Ranger. Honestly, not one of my favorite Rangers, but with his Super-Silvererizer and a Galaxy Glider that transformed into a motorcycle, he certainly had some of the cooler accoutrements in the show.
  7. Series 7? WOW! It's amazing the line has come so far . . . since the ONLY figures I've seen sense series 1 are the same old He-Man and Skeletors.
  8. The original wasn't really one of my favorite movies, but it was a decent way to kill a couple hours on a quiet weekend afternoon. Still, it is one of those classic 80's movies, and I get real uncomfortable when they try and remake those. It's like trying to reproduce da Vinci's Mona Lisa, except you never learned how to paint.
  9. Might be better than I think, you say? Well, Jessica Alba could be waiting at my front door with a 6-pack and a bucket o' wings . . . but I bet she's not.
  10. Compared to Discovery and Picard (RoboCap?), this was friggin' Shakespeare. By the by, how many "Cuts" does that make of TMP?
  11. Uh, can you REALLY call a person "Visionary" if the best they can do is dredge up a 22 year-old franchise that was neither "Ground-Breaking," "Mind-Blowing," OR "Redifining" . . . when it was NEW? I mean, why not complete the cliche? Bring in Chris Pratt or some of those kids from Stranger Things. Maybe ask Kathleen Kennedy to come over and Woke it up for you. Hey! I hear Jamie Lee Curtis is free. She did a great job in whatever that last Halloween movie was called playing Laurie Strode as Sara Connor in whatever that last Terminator movie was called.* * (Bitter, me? No. Why?)
  12. The way the show performed last season, I'm pretty sure that's the point.
  13. Wooo, Yeah!!! I said I was just waiting for Playmates to do something cool with the Turtles license. I STILL AM.
  14. They really need to nail down those likenesses. Having the figures include actor heads is kinda pointless when they look nothing like the actor.
  15. Supergirl vs. the Slum Lord? Kinda low hanging fruit, isn't it? I mean I get it, they tackled most of the A-list social justice material early on, but isn't this a bit cliche . . . even for the CW? For that matter, didn't Black Lightning already do this? Or course, Supergirl's technically been cancelled, they probably feel like any decent writing (something they TOTALLY used to do ) would be like fixing the front porch the week before you move.
  16. Don't Forget Legend of the Seeker! Bridget will always be Kahlan Amnell to me.
  17. Oh, Bridget, no! I mean, I know a recurring gig on a TV show is a quick way to score some cash after live theater took a huge hit during the pandemic . . . but Batwoman? Talk about slumming.
  18. Hm, reminds me of something a TV critic once said about the 90s revival of 70's/early 80s sitcom WKRP in Cincinatti. "It's like a high school reunion where only the people you DIDN'T like show up." Not that I dislike any of these people, but you gotta admit, it's not really an Arrowverse A-list, is it?
  19. I checked with my brother, who is THE Cowboy Beebop fan, and he tended to share your take of it being a sign o' the times, BUT, he also pointed out that the stunt requirements for a CBB show would be pretty elaborate, and some of the stuff required of Faye you just can't do in hot-pants and a painted on halter-top. He did agree with me that Pineda looks great in the role, and is probably as close as you'll ever get to a 3D anime girl. As for live action adaptions of anime? I'm honestly more into LA adaptions of American 'toons, Ben 10, Scooby Doo, etc. (don't judge). I have, however, seen and totally dug Full Metal Alchemist, Gatchaman, and Space Battleship Yamato. Every single one I watched made me wish we could do movies like that on this side of the pond.
  20. Okay, they gave Finster a case o' Putties, points for that. I still think they dropped the ball by not releasing him as a Deluxe and including a Monster Maker diorama/backdrop though.
  21. Hard to say, my Walmart's in the middle of a reset. Basically, they were in the little cubby area beneath the pegboards where the Power Rangers Lightning Force and Fortnite toys hang. Coincidentally, I also found the rerelease figures on the pegs at the opposite end of the isle, next to the Marvel stuff. I assume this is going to be the new Playmates area. With this particular store, it's anybody's guess.
  22. Found these at Walmart the other day. The publicity pix just don't convey how truly out of scale these bad boys are with each other.
  23. I want that Ecliptor for sure, but I'm still holding out for the red-headed "Final" version of Astronema.
