  1. Hmmm Well, Destro could be the leader of a criminal group that deals in arms, then cobra commander comes in, subverts it and turns it into a terrorist group. Just as long as it isn't that "script" I read awhile ago(the one with Cobra Commander being Dukes best friend until some accident then a few genetic experiments). I couldn't delete that off my computer fast enough. As for turning G.I.Joe into an international group, dissapointing but not surprising. I guess they feel that it will be easier to market the movie overseas that way. At least the director isn't Uwe Boll, so thats a step up.
  2. Hmmm. I doubt they will be fixing the problems anytime soon(if ever). Doesn't seem to be as much outcry as when they replaced the o-ring with the swivel hips.
  3. Hmmm. Great reviews. I don't know if I want to even bother collecting this new line now. I'm one who likes to play with my figures. Despite arguments over character details, I thought at least this line would be play friendly. I guess not. If I wanted figures just to display, I would go with McFarlane statues.
  4. Hmmm. I don't think you really have to "hide" the joints on the figures, just design the figure so that the joint doesn't stick out to much and looks like its apart of the figure. They did it pretty well with most of the figures seen so far(there are some things that do stand out though). As for the Crimson Guard, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they use Cobra Comander's mold with a different head. I agree that they should concentrate on new figures, but you just know that they are going to do repaints and reissues sooner or later. So instead of just a straight reissue with different paint, why not fix some of the problems with them? While it would be great to have some of the "B players", I think Hasbro would release another Duke versus a Headhunter simply because of recognition.
  5. Hmmm. I find myself hoping that they handle this line like Star Wars, reissuing the same figure again down the road with slight improvements, because at this point it seems like every figure I've seen needs alot of improvement. I'm not talking about minor details(Flints gloves, sandals whatever). The figure design itself needs improvements. Deeper hip sockets, narrowing down the crotch, maybe doing away with the double-jointed knee and going with ball-socket knees, fleshing out the heads(they look nice from the front, not so good from the sides), decrease the length of the torso overall. It took them years to hash out the problems with the new sculpts(more or less), hopefully it won't take as long with these. Just for the record, I like both regular mayo and miracle whip.
  6. Hmmm I've really got to stop looking at these previews. The more I see of these figures, the less I like.
  7. Hmmm I wouldn't bet the bank on it. Aside from new heads and maybe a new upper chest mold for Lady Jaye, you could make all the figures above with parts from figures already made. Okay? you really must be living up to you name. Explain how they can make serpy with no new parts please @firedevil@ Hmmm, should of included "new web gear, detachable parts" to that statement, my bad, but here goes... Serpentor - Gung-Ho Body and arms, Destro Legs, new head, new add-on(web gear?) armor for the chest, thighs, and forearms. Paint accordingly, and alter card art as needed. Buzzer - Duke body with a new head and different paint job, maybe substitute Dukes arms with Gung-Hos arms, alter card art as needed. Beachead - Snake Eyes body with a new head, new "web gear" and a different paint job, alter card art as needed. Cobra Trooper - Nothing new needed at all. Lady Jaye - This is the only figure I see that actual new figure parts would be needed. New head and upper chest, Scarlett lower body and legs, Baroness arms. Paint accordingly, and alter card art as needed. I think it would be easier and probably cheaper for them to make molds for new detachable gear rather than completely new figure parts.
  8. Hmmm I wouldn't bet the bank on it. Aside from new heads and maybe a new upper chest mold for Lady Jaye, you could make all the figures above with parts from figures already made.
  9. Maybe if they at least looked like they put some effort into it, I would be pleased. Thing is, doesn't look like it. Flint, Storm Shadow V2 and Snake Eyes V2 are just lazy repaints with new heads and partially new gear. It doesn't look like they even tried to mix some parts up. Hell, they showed more creativity and effort with DTC than with this latest batch.
  10. Hmmm I would of voted for Nemesis Enforcer IF I thought there was a chance that it would be a completely new figure. But since its most likely to be just reused parts, gotta go with Doc.
  11. Hmmm Good work on all of the entries. Very tough call, but... My Vote: Entry #1 The Night Creepers
  12. Oddly enough, I don't see to many Plague/Brigade sets. I wonder if they just made more of the Viper Pit sets, or if they sold better.
  13. Hmmm. Zartan Buzzer Stalker Quick Kick Rock&Roll I don't think they are going to stick to the "no dead characters" guideline, since this is a sort of classics line. Another question is if there are going to keep the ratio of 3 joes and 2 cobras going(depends on how you view Storm Shadow V2)?
  14. Don't know why I'm rising to the bait.... Didn't say "sux", and half-assed describes the 3 I have a problem with to a T. At least with DTC, they tried. I have no problem with them reusing parts. But if your going to do it, do it with some style and imagination.
  15. Well, my argument against the Flint figure is that he just looks scrawny. Looking at the card art and the original figures, it just appears that Flint is more muscular than Duke. Duke looks wirey, while Flint looks buff. Do I think that Flint deserves a whole new mold? No. But he does deserve some more new parts than what he got. A new upper chest and arms(or maybe the arms from Storm Shadow even) would of done it, and I think I would have had no complaints. Storm Shadow V2 and Snake Eyes V2, along with Flint, trouble me. They just slapped on some different chest gear, a new head and a different paint job and bang, they call it a new figure. Its like they didn't even look at what different parts they had and try to come up with something better, or at least something that doesn't look like chase variants of the same figure. I wouldn't want a new Flint figure over a Serpentor. The question is, if we do get a Serpentor figure, will it be all new, or just another half-assed repaint with a new head and slightly different gear?
