  1. I wish I were going, but it's at the other end of the world, seemingly. Why oh why are there no decent cons or toy shows in NYC ?? j
  2. I got a mostly-blank screen too, from the link.....no funny pics or movies or nothing.... j e
  3. Nice work....thanks for the links. j
  4. Sorry, Jase, but that mini was a printed abortion -- bad story, excrutiatingly bad artwork, the works. Trina Robbins may be on everyone's feminist darling list, but to me she's a no-talent....someone who has no business in the industry, other than playing the underdog. IMO, there are very, VERY few artists who have worked on Wonder Woman with such wretched results. Bearing in mind how many substandard artists (Don Heck, Vince Colletta, Lee Moder, etc) have darkened WW's comic pages in the last sixty-plus years, that's saying something. j
  5. Oh yes, typical for DCD; they can't seem to follow their own street dates to save their lives. The real annoyance is that instead of having toys arrive at decent intervals, they arrive all at once, which leaves many collectors (myself included) scrambling to pay for the damn things. Fortunately, a good 80% of DCD's scheduled releases this year are easy to pass on, being standard rehashes of Super- and Bat-crap. What a shame that Hasbro's license to the S and B franchises expired a few years ago....since then, DCD has turned into the home of inbred ideas, spitting out the same sorry S&B toys year after year. DCD showed a helluva lot more creativity back when they couldn't rely on the S&B franchises to make them easy money. Now they're just pathetically predictable, and beyond crass in their money grubbing. j
  6. At that bidding price, buyer beware. The seller is, by eBay feedback standards, a Nobody, who claims in the auction text that he's never mailed anything overseas. Probably has to do math on his fingers too, judging by the idiotic way he incorporates irrelevant "key words"..... j
  7. Very nice job, JFAK.....do you do superhero cutsoms, by any chance ? j @bounce@ e
  8. Blue Sparrow....the rumor you mention is an old one, and has to do with an agreement the supposedly was made with Marston's estate. But if you look back, there was a significant gap in WW publication, when Crisis ended her first series back in 1986. Apart from one (super-crappy) mini series, it was nearly a year before DC relaunced WW with a new series. j
  9. I couldn't see them either, though I was tempted to join HeMan.org. But I'm still smarting over Mattel's bad business practices, and the fickleness of brats.... j
  10. Mmmm, Kentucky Fried Anakin.....is that a new finger food, or a movie spoiler ? j @bounce@ e
  11. Oh, I can certainly sympathize, Don. Though I own only a handful of SW figures, I have about 150 DCDers, another hundred or so Marvel Legends and Spidey Classix, and several hundred assorted toys and figures....all of which had to be moved this past May. And what was the biggest beeyatch to move, you might ask ? Why, it was the forty plastic storage tubs I had stacked in my old basement....which contained none of the toys mentioned above. Collecting is great, provided you don't have to move your collection around. j @bounce@ e
  12. Okay, Darth Tater Was One Thing.... ...but "Spud Trooper".....? Just how much of the take is Lucas getting from all this crap ? With Star Wars "cross-promotions" ranging from the tenuous to the tedious, is there any limit to what big business thinks that SW fans will want ? j
  13. The auction was ended early....WTF ? I kinda like that balrog, though it is pretty small by the general 6" scale. Is that a ToyBiz figure, or am I just dreaming ? j @bounce@ e
  14. LOL...I got a tickle out of that, Draven.....thanks ! j
  15. REALLY nice work ! Thanks for sharing. j
  16. Okay, DCD, enough with the WW variants and rehashes of Cheetah....it's time for some creativity ! Time to start mining WW's rogues gallery, and supporting cast ! There are 60+ years worth of characters to choose from, when making new action figures, so why do you insist on WW retreads every time ? Of DC's supposed Big Three, she's the only one with fewer than three villains in figure form (multiple Cheetahs only count when you're a wishful thinker), and three lousy (in Cassie's case, "super lousy") supporting figures. Do I have to wait until WW's sixty-fifth anniversary to get you to listen ?? j @hmmm@ e
  17. OOOOPS....sorry for the duplicate thread, folks ! j
  18. LOL, Famous....the "whole Don't Scalp thing" only gets old when people make a habit of DOING it. If your only incentive for buying a toy is that you think you can make more than your initial outlay back, PLUS a premium, you're exploiting other fans and collectors. And really, that's a pretty scummy thing to do. j @bounce@ e
  19. Number 2, you should have made a SCENE, and embarrassed the slug into selling you one of the toys. At the very least, I would have confronted him and told him (and his kid) that the Force frowns upon those who scarf up all the goodies.... j
  20. LOL....I think Hasbro are the crooks....selling those crappily-designed figures in the first place.... j
  21. Great stuff -- tanks for sharin' ! j @bounce@ e
  22. Nice job, though maybe a little too much starch in her dress... j @bounce@ e ps:
