Honestly, I used to collect nearly everything up until a year ago. Yes it was crazy, yes it was a burden and yes it was totally out of control.
Then one day last year it hit me, I had to slow down or completely stop. So I did. I stopped coming here, I stopped making my 3 times a week toy runs, I stopped everything.
Thankfully it worked, I cut myself off cold turkey and now I'm so much happier. I guess you could say I finally saw the light as a collector.
As of now I'm still collecting, a few months ago I slowly brought myself back in and am now collecting the two lines that give me the most pleasure and joy, those being Transformers and Street Fighter.
SF is easy to keep in check with, since SOTA releases the figures sporadically at best and the PVCs I only get when I attend a convention (once a year).
Transformers I'm happy to say I've kept well in line as well. I no longer buy every single one, but only the ones that I absoloutely love and know that I really want to add to my collection. I've also given myself a toy allowance for the month and will not exceed that by more than $5.
So in short I'm a much happier man with my Transformers and SF figures.
