  1. Thought I read a couple months back that K-Mart was getting a wave. Don't remember if it was exclusive or early. Maybe it was the Summer heat...?
  2. May have seen my other post about just getting back into SW(?) What does BBY mean..? Thanks,
  3. Really has been a "dead" line for almost 6 months. They're going to have to do better than the OMAC 6 pack to get my $$$ back...
  4. Thanks for al the suggestions. Are there 1 or 2 websites that do a good with fig data-bases, vehicles, etc. Maybe a SW timeline...?
  5. Very cool on the mentoring story... I figure there are few thousand dads/uncles/etc. that are enjoying my scenario. Is there any kind of market for the POTF, relaunch stuff? Should I try to sell/trade if the newer lines are more appealing to him?
  6. I suppose it was bound to happen... after about a 10 year hiatus for me, The world of Star Wars is coming alive again through my 5 year old son (very fun). I've done plenty of collecting in-between (Marvel Legends, DCUC, etc) but have just kept all my old POTF and Episode I era stuff packed safely away. We're starting him out slow (despite his older cousin's efforts). I don't think we'll let him watch the full saga until well into 6-7 years old (as they seem to get progressively darker/violent). For now Episode IV does wonders for him and the Clone Wars animated show is even o.k for little sis. They've done a nice job invigorating the franchise with that animated series. The problem I'm having as we slowly emerge out of Galactic Heroes (which are pretty darn cool); what the heck is with ALL these freakin' lines of figures????? Legacy, Saga, Clone wars, Evolutions, The Comic Book packs... The list goes on. Also, it seems the scale has gotten significantly smaller. Cooler scuplts, detail etc, but very slight in scale when compared to the older figs from the relaunch of the franchise. How bad will my POTF Storm trooper army dwarf the new ones?? I will say, they've got quite a $money maker$ with the Clone troopers... Those variations and armor options are very, very cool... Something tells me they're finding every way to milk it as well So, as me and my boy proceed into a galaxy far far away, I'm just looking for some guidance as we get close to possibly starting to collect Star Wars: What lines are most fun? Most compatible with the older lines? Which retailers seem to have the best variety? Is the Clone Wars animated series popular (how is it received in the SW lore)? Just curious as we head down this path. This board has always been solid for feedback and guidance. Looking forward to being on this forum more often in the future... Thanks for now
  7. I grabbed a pre-played copy today for 12.99. Seemed fair! I've heard great things but I'm dying for a Bounty Hunter based gamed...
  8. COOL... kinda. Now I don't want to open it
  9. Pessimistic as I am, I hardly doubt after NEVER seeing a sniff of wave 9 that I would run across a variant... I stumbled across Green Arrow and Wildcat (hallelujah) BUT, Wildcat was the purplish colored version? I thought the Black was the standard? I'm pleased to have a variant (heck just a wave 9 fig), but really preferred the black one. Is this another classic Mattell running change???? Any insight is appreciated.
  10. This is a pretty god summary for me. My biggest headache is I don't even have access to Wal-Marts (closest is 30 miles away). When I do get lucky enough to be out by them... never is there any product that is current. If not for the kindness of board members (robbie and degra) I wouldn't even have Wave 5 or the WM 5 pack. This is all on top of Target and TRU getting in 1 shipment a pop and then I get to complete my waves on-line. I don't mind grabbing 1-2 characters per wave online (because I do like to have some of my faves carded) but having to rely on it for an entire series is too much especially with the paint issues can be an issue. The killer thing is I keep seeing the future fig possibilities and allow myself to get excited (Huntress, Prof. Zoom, Martian Manhunter, an updated Arkham Asylum Bats and Harley?) I don't know... I keep telling myself if I can't complete Wave 8 and 9 (where are you Black Canary???)before the holidays, then I should be happy with what I have and know that 10 years from now my kids will either love em' or trash em'
  11. Wow! Opposite reaction rom me... My wife was laughing at how "risque" Harley looked and I was enjoying the new look!
  12. Game launches tonight at midnight. If I weren't in a work crunch I'd love to get "sick" for a couple of days! Surprised there's not more fervor for it on the boards. It is getting massivley solid reviews! Anyone else wishing they could disappear for from reality for a week?
  13. Overall I'd give it a B+! A couple fun surprises (sin corps 2 pack, Wal-Mart 5 pack, likes the Public Enemies exclusives!) Got some work to do on character choices still. I just hope the distribution increases. I also still feel like there is the possibilty of another couple of lines witth the sick Star Power of Wave 3 or 9 (my undeniable favorite lines to date)
  14. Absolutely Killer! One of the highlights of my Holiday weekend... The only thing I doubt is teh release date. Fall 09???
  15. Yah... I've got his background down O.k.... I think he's just one of those characters that is just not for me. Like I said, I don't hate the guy or anything, I've read about him in a couple books and of course see him on JLU and I just keep thinking WTF? The wierd thing is, I'm usually drawn to characters w/o super powers, batman, nightwing, green arrow, wildcat, etc. I was just curious if he has much of a following at all for a secondary/support character?
