  1. I was on there the other day when it started and it was at like $5000, now it's at $50,000. I wish all the best and hope he makes it this time. DDP has a one strike and you're out rule, so this is probably his last chance. So far, it's worked for Jake, so I hope it works for Scott.
  2. I picked up all 6 figures today. Hyperion, Protector, Red She-Hulk, Archangel, Ultimate Cap and Wolverine. I'm very happy with all the figures, but of the bunch I would say that Hyperion is at the bottom. I'm not going to sit and say "cheap plastic" or "bad paint job", but I am unhappy with his cape attachments. Doesn't matter how I angle it, the "buttons" will not stay down and makes him look funny. That's the main complaint I have with him. It is a good thing for the line (at least at a major retail level) that they are producing really well made Wolverine and Cap figures. I like these ones a lot and if they continue making them this good, then that will keep places like Walmart and TRU ordering them. The Archangel is a probably one of the best action figures I've ever bought. Love the detail, love the paint job and sculpt, love the wings! Still trying to figure out who or what Hit Monkey is supposed to be though.
  3. I've watched wrestling for a long enough time that I get very emotional when one of them passes away and today was no exception. Many great memories of watching Paul Bearer and again someone that is gone long before their time.
  4. I'm really surprised to hear that too considering it happened back in December. For the amount of time I spend on this site and the fact that almost all of my friends are into comics, I would have thought I'd have heard about it by now. Here's hoping as well for a speedy recovery. From the sounds of it, things are going well for him.
  5. I don't think HHH will beat Lesnar. Brock has signed for another two years and I think they really need to keep him looking strong. Having him go under to Hunter is a mistake. Now I can say the same thing for Punk and Undertaker, but we all know Punk is going to lose. It would be a huge feather in Punk's cap if he won, but it's just not going to happen. That being said, I do think we'll get a hell of a match. I'm all for Cena beating Rock, as long as it ends in a heel turn.
  6. WJ, I never thought you were delusional until now. @loll@ Seriously though, I can't believe Mattel will ever re-release Shadoweaver then they don't even have the faith in Ram Man to make extras to sell. I love this line, but I am not prepared to pay the insane prices that some people (and businesses) put on these figures.
  7. I'd wager this match was a trial/warm-up to see if he's good to go for Wrestlemania. If they decide not to go ahead with a WM match, then they can just say it was in his home state and he was making a special appearance. I'm just hoping he isn't the spandex Undertaker we've seen in the ring the last few years. Always liked the get-ups he wore to the ring, but I never like the spandex.
  8. I might be kind of pissed off about the whole Swagger arrest thing, but damn they made some good tv:
  9. Looks like the WWE is continuing with the storyline. The posted new videos on their "WeThePeopleZeb" channel on YouTube: Gotta say I'm very unimpressed with the WWE if they're just continuing with this as if nothing has happened. I've read that Swagger has been caught with marijuana before, but has simply just paid the fine that comes with it. That's fine and dandy, but he was arrested this time. Same thing happened to RVD and they hung him out to dry.
  10. As Kobra Khan doesn't squirt water and Orko doesn't slide across the floor, I never expected Ram Man to bounce.
  11. Ok, getting past the overpricing and rise in shipping costs and such, I'm very please with both figures. I do think Jitsu's weapons could have used a bit more detailing, but I'll live. I really like the detail the put into the actual figure though. I can get how some people think he looks a little too much like the 200X version, but I don't think Mattel wanted to release a fu-manchu figure. I love the scale on Ram Man and he actually has a fair bit of articulation for a bulky figure. I had a bit of an issue getting his axe into his hand, but I was able to twist it in after a bit.
  12. Well, just got my delivery so it was definitely faster then before, but I got stuck paying another $19 in duty, so I am officially done ordering through the Mattel site. I would have saved money if I bought them in store.
  13. They will be hypocrites if they put Orton the title match. He's still paying for his last suspension. I think Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler or Chris Jericho are their logical choices. They've run the coarse with Big Show already and they can't put in Sheamus or Ryback because it might affect the ADR's fan base. I do think Punk would a great choice too, but it's again liable to backfire on them with fans cheering Punk and not ADR.
  14. Thanks for fixing the title @loll@ I'm almost waiting with bated breath to see what's going to happen. They can't possibly continue with Swagger without coming off as huge hypocrites. I know they can wait sometimes to suspense someone, but I think at this point and with so much on the line, I don't think they're going to suspense him, they're going to fire him. Personally, I think Vince should just appear at the beginning of RAW, tell the whole world what has happened with Swagger, publicly remove him from the Wrestlemania match and announce a battle royale with the winner taking Swagger's spot at WM. I think Mark Henry would be the logical choice.
  15. TMZ is reporting that Jack Swagger was arrested following last night's SmackDown taping in Biloxi, Mississippi. According to the report, Swagger was leaving the arena when he was pulled over for speeding. The officer who pulled him over said that Swagger was driving under the influence, and was found to have marijuana in his car. Swagger was booked, and later released. He is being charged with DUI, marijuana possession, and speeding, all misdemeanors. A WWE spokesperson told TMZ, "Mr. Swagger is responsible for his own personal actions." What a loser! This is how you thank your employer for the opportunity of a life time? You drink and drive and get arrested and you have marijuana on you as well? I'm sorry, but this guy is an idiot and deserves to lose his spot. Rob Van Dam lost his title and spot for marijuana possession and he was WAY more over then Swagger was or will be. Even if the WWE proceeds with the Wrestlemania match, there's no way Swagger will win. EDIT: Alcohol was not a factor in his arrest, it was a DUI for the marijuana. So that pretty much makes it EXACTLY like Rob Van Dam. If he doesn't lose his spot, then the WWE is the biggest bunch of hypocrites in the world.
  16. Got my email today saying my figures were shipped. Now the real waiting begins.
  17. I think the idea is that they can replace the logos on the side dependent on who the champion is. Pictures of the belt on the WWE website just show the WWE logo and not the bull symbol.
  18. Yeah! The Rock was on RAW!! And he talked...again. Getting tired of him showing up and doing nothing. WWE Champion. Wrestle damn it. This whole thing with Swagger and Del Rio seems familiar. Like they've done it before. Oh yeah! They did it with JBL and Eddie. Oh well, at least it worked for JBL, maybe it will work for Swagger. I can't for the life me figure out what they're doing with Ziggler! They keep trying to build him into the next big thing and even make a special spot for him at the PPV, but now they have him job to ADR? Makes no sense at all. Also, doesn't the MitB have to be cashed in within a year? Is he over it yet? Didn't Mark Henry cream Khali a few weeks ago to get into the Elimination Chamber? Now suddenly he's the person Mark is afraid to face? In time when they should be building towards Wrestlemania, they really didn't do much last night. They build ADR and Swagger and it's slowly looking like we'll get a triple threat match for the WWE title.
  19. Though could have a chance to convince me about a sub if it was all vintage. I was actually looking at the release schedule and they only figures that interest me are Snakeface (in April) and Clamp Champ (in July). That's it. So if they want to keep a collector like myself interested, a vintage sub would be the way to go. I know there's no way in hell that they'll do that though.
  20. So, we're getting Alberto Del Rio vs Jack Swagger as a main event match at WM? Not certain how I feel about that. I like that they're building Swagger but to just throw him into the main event again seems a bit soon. I personally don't feel that Del Rio is even really over as champion yet either. With the WWE title tied up with Rock and Cena, I'm wondering where guys like Ryback, Sheamus, Jericho, Orton, Big Show and Mark Henry are going to fall. I smell MitB match. Where we supposed to be excited when Kofi Kingston was announced? I was expecting someone bigger (like Rey Mysterio). I was glad that the Shield went over. Them winning this match isn't going to affect any of the main event guys and it helps three guys I feel have main event status themselves get over. Decent match between Rock and Punk, if not for the silly finish.
  21. Gay sci-fi author asks DC for ‘balance,’ offers to write Superman In an open letter, award-winning science fiction author David Gerrold has asked DC Comics for balance — and a job. In response to the publisher hiring Ender’s Game author and gay-marriage opponent Orson Scott Card to contribute to its Adventures of Superman anthology, Gerrold suggests DC hire an “openly gay writer,” which he happens to be. Gerrold writes: Dear DC Comics Editors, I see that you have hired a writer for Superman who has written strongly of his opposition to equal rights for LGBT people. And I see that there is an online petition protesting that move. Perhaps you could balance that decision by hiring an openly gay writer to draft a Superman story for a future issue. I hereby volunteer. I have been a fan of Superman since Bud Collyer played him on the radio. (Before TV was invented.) I can remember Brainiac’s first appearance, and Bizarro too. And I cried when George Reeves died. I do have some small credential as a writer of science fiction and fantasy. I have published a few books and written a few teleplays. (You can look me up on the internet.) I have also written some mangas, and I wrote two issues of the Babylon 5 comic you published ten years ago. I have some very good ideas that I think would work well for the series. I’d like the opportunity to write for you the very best Superman story ever. Sincerely yours, David Gerrold “The Trouble With Tribbles” Land Of The Lost Twilight Zone The Martian Child (and a whole bunch of other stuff)
  22. I picked up my figures today. I've very pleased with all of them. I bit disappointed that I have to wait till the fall to complete my Iron Monger though. I remember seeing the classic Iron Man and thinking he looked a lot like the original Iron Man that ToyBiz put out in Marvel Legends I, but he's a very awesome figure.
  23. I'd love to own it, but I can't justify the nearly $80 I'd have to spend and considering I already own the complete series, it would be just a novelty thing for me. Very awesome though.
  24. For the nearly $30 I paid for shipping, I better get my delivery a hell of a lot quicker then usually do.
