  1. Serpy is larger that the average. I got mine yesterday. Oh and he's bald. Sorry no pics next to other figs..I'll try to snap one later tonight. Beachhead is not as Tall as feared.
  2. When Kenner/Hasbro relaunched Star Wars in 95 it was like this. Entire cases would disappear from the shelves, it took well into the 3rd or 4th wave before product caught up with demand. I also think the fact that the cases are 10 figures per instead of 12 figures per might make a difference in the long run...that's 2 less figures to sit on the pegs (even though we know they would just put 2 more CC, SE, or SS's in the case instead of Cobra troopers)
  3. Can't wait for this Wave!!! If they can get one of the Original 13 in per wave, in comic packs or a couple per year, I'll be stoked!! Plus Operation Specific Figures like Snow Job (the best of the Arctic Troopers) per wave is great too. Hope this means we'll see a Snow Serpent soon too. Crimson Guard will be cool..like mentioned previously I hope IF it has removable helmet that the helmet is not Over sized..or the head Under Sized. The only one I am iffy about is the Destro...if it is Just 5 Pack Destro, I'll pass. I can see Army building Snow Job just to do some head swaps and make an Arctic Squad....my only fear is that they will mess up the hood like this years Hoth Han Solo in SW line. I guess I was in the minority of liking of the Red Beard on Snow Job...he was the only Bearded Character (Red) left to do, to tie RAH with Adventure Team back then... All Black Snake Eyes won't bother me, but they are going to run out ways to do him eventually.
  4. I like Duke just fine in the Comic and Cartoon...the only problem I had with Duke was his Figure...Green pants and a Tan Shirt...he wasn't green enough for the Jungle or Khaki enough for the Desert..I usually just popped his head onto another body so he could join whatever squad was going out on OPS....
  5. Not that I know any of you guys (yet)...but I will be there, and I got my Green Sheet as well as first 100 stuff, but I got the 12 inch figures, so I get a leather-ette Jacket for the Man of Action.
  6. Episode 4: Zartan & Flint (in arctic gear) This is kind of what I am hoping for out of the Comics line...Iconic Characters in their less than Iconic Outfits...the Winter Jackets that everybody wore on Arctic missions etc....kind of expanded universe Joe-style.
  7. I like the all but the Duke/CC pack...I suffered through the Star Wars wave 1 of comic packs, it was worth it. I prefer the less embellished SS, no gold braid..very Vintage-esque..I'll have to replace his gear with Black gear though. Are we sure these are Comic packs and not CARTOON packs? The Blue Snake Eyes and the Snow Job rifle are very Cartoon-ish. I'll take V1 Hawk any way I can get him. The original 13 customs will be that much easier to pull off now. If anybody has any clues as to what Wave 2 is let me know. Mr. Terrific..if all you want is CC...PM me...for the price of a stamp/envelope, I'll send you one of the ones that came with extra Cobra 5 packs.
  8. Do we have firm dates on these hitting RETAIL..not when they will be put on a row boat in Hong Kong, but actual street dates? Since it took 2 months from the time wave 1 left hasbro's warehouse till they hit around here. I keep looking at the pics. The small gripes I can get over, just to have Joe's back on the shelf. Well at least pegs with their names on them. If I was rating the waves: Wave 2: Beachhead Buzzer Lady Jaye Cobra Trooper the fake Serpentor Wave 3: STALKER Firefly Shipwreck Zartan Crimson Empire StormShadow Hopefully wave 2 hits retail enough before the Convention so I won't be tempted to pay the dealer prices...or isn't scheduled to hit far enough after the convention that I won't even be tempted.
  9. A con: What if they do a different scale for the movie figures, like with Spider Man 3 wasn't it different from Previous scales? (or basically what ObiPrime said...sorry I'll learn to read all the posts before I respond) Con: A Third/Fourth Continuity...I don't see how they can make this Jibe with Marvel or Toon or even the current stuff/crap Devil's Due writes. Pros: Movies and Hasbro means vehicles and Playsets in the Movie year.
  10. I really like Wave 3. One question/critique...when did Stalker use an MP40? Not that having one will be bad...
  11. I'd like to see them just as I did in 82/83. Card Art Versions are preferable. The guys who had Beards, should have beards. Maybe not Identical Head sculpts, but I would be OK with that too. variaions in the shades of Green used too. I don't like Short Fuze with glasses or Breaker with chewing gum, but I do like Zap with a moustache... They would all have helmets that fit (and visors if necessary). A modern Military-esque update would be OK, but only in later incarnations. My Original joes were never replaced when I "played" joes, they were the core of the team, and the specialists came and went. ANd I'd love to see all of the 83 Wave done in the 25th. I just don't want Joe re-imagined or re-loaded right now.
  12. I will wait and see on this, but it is not looking good. However...2 points... Star Wars was a good movie and Darth Vader and Tarkin were in control ON SCREEN until Jedi really. So if Destro is the field commander then I think I can let that one slide. I'm not sure I like that they have given him Major Bludd's personality though. Destro was/has been fairly honorable throughout the Marvel Run of comics at least that is what they tried to portray at several parts. So if Cobra Commander is mentioned then I can probably be ok with it. I'm not thrilled that Joe is abandoning it's heritage as the Real AMERICAN Hero, but I don't mind some international flair...As long as they don't take current AMERICAN Joes/Characters and transplant them with folks from other nations. For example...use Glenda or Quarrel...but don't make Scarlett from France...use the entire Oktober Guard, but don't make Snake Eyes from Outer Mongolia. That kind of change would ruin the movie for ME. I just hope although they are distancing themselves from "War Movie" the joes still get to carry guns and that the X Men reference wasn't a hint that Joes will all now have super powers...

I guess we played differently as kids, there was only one of each individual character per "battle"... While there wouldn't be an issue for me with 4-5 "Commandos" on the screen at one time, the "Feel" of the game would be lost if there were a bunch of Snake Eyes Clones vs. a bunch of Storm Shadow Clones. Part of these games was to "re-create" their universe or some such, I just think it would distract. Like you said the customization would make it where there would be enough difference, but one of the alures of the Star Wars:Galaxies game for me was there weren't going to be 500 Boba Fetts, 500 Han Solos and 500 Darth Mauls in the game. I would prefer the speed of the 1st Person shooter anyway..and those games give you maybe 8 or so choices per side and that is tolerable enough.

I could go for a game like Star Wars:Galaxies...but it would have the potential to be kinda lame. I would only want 1 Snake Eyes per server...perhaps they could do it like Galaxies and not let Players be the known characters. But if it turned into a Server full of Ninjas...it might suck...but imagine..you could be Joe, Cobra, Dreadnok, October Guard, "Red Something" etc... But now a 1st Person shooter like Battlefield 2 with all the Joe vehicles...that would be cool. I remember when Counter Strike had the RUMOR of someone doing new Skins so that your team and enemies looked like Joes and Cobras...pretty cool..never played it though... The problem would be that it would still need just one of each character per server. But with over 100 Joes...it could be a programmingn nightmare. The Cobra's would be a bit easier. Basically, I'll take any good Joe game. As it is, my gaming buddies just use Joe Personas for BF2 and try to stay true to the "Character" when picking a kit. We've even gone to the point of having our server (un ranked of course) where the Bots are Cobra and Joe names....
  15. More Nashville than Hollywood...but you are probably right, I think he is married to an actress. His videos for "Celebrity" and "Online" can't be missed, even by those who think themselves too trendy or posh for County Music. I'd like to think he is a Joe fan.
  16. Finally found them in both a Target and Wal Mart near me. Not the ones closest to me, mind you..that would be too easy. In fact one Wal Mart has done a complete re-set (even moved the Toy Department across the store) and they don't even have space in the Plan-0-Gram for Joes (Sigma Six or AT or 25th) I am worried about that one. The Target DCPI listed above is correct for the single packs. I've been typing into the scanner at my Target for weeks. The Target I found Joes at had NOTHING on Sunday (not even pegs) by Tuesday they were full. So the "Week of the 5th" seems to be dead on. On a side note, Wal Mart had the best "Cards" with the least amount of warping.
  17. I hit a target today that had just put the cases on the shelves. It had the 1 per Flint and Cobra Officer and also had all gray Timbers.
  18. Saw them this morning. I did not see the top of the HQ. They also had the 12 inch ones with the Predator air recon thing, the Kayak and the Kawasaki. I also saw the Horse, Camel several versions of the Motorcycle, the 3 Packs of figures (SAS and SWAT were all I can recall). I did not pick any up yet, but these things took up an entire aisle.
  19. Let us not forget that 3 3/4 was put on HIATUS so that the Sigma Six line could grow...Turn about is fair play and all that. If they would have done the 8inch line the way they are doing it NOW at the beginning, I would have been sucked in earlier. As it is, I'll take more shelf space for 25th stuff. Not hatin on 8inch, just like the 3 3/4 scale better.
  20. You and me Both VH....I just started getting into these.
  21. You can keep the sterotypes to yourself too. Wrestling fans take about as kindly to "steroid freaks" and "NASCAR" references thrown their way as people who collect action figures take kindly to "living in mom's basement" comments. You are right, I apologize, they aren't all Cage Matches... And it is not a "Basement" it is an "Apartment" and all the other Dungeon Master's think it is awesome. I watched Wrestling in the 80's like everybody else, but I don't want them in the Joe Universe. Plain and simple. So if they make a Von Erich Family pack, I'll be all over it (although there is only 1 left alive that could come to the Con). To quote more 80's..."Don't cross the streams" or perhaps "You got your chocolate in my peanut butter"... Sorry to have a different opinion than yours, but it happens.
  22. My confirmation was just sent as well. I payed for the slowest shipping, so it will be a while.
  23. Not a big "Rasslin" fan. Not sure why the Joe-verse is being polluted with it. Maybe they can have a cage match between the Steriod Freaks of the WWF and Cobra La. Maybe next year we'll get NASCAR. Yee-Haw!! So obviously count me in as not getting one. Easier for those who want it.
  24. If we limit it to 10.... Falcon Repeater Tunnel Rat Recondo Spirit Short Fuze (or any of the other 13) Ripcord SnowJob Viper Iron Grenadier
  25. The reason those other previous incarnations did not take off with ME was like mentioned before....Duke was not dressed like Duke. New Sculpt/T Crotch would have gotten me more interested if they had left the character designs alone and not made the changes in appearance that they made. But again that is just me. The current comic sucks imho. I've read Joe since #1 and the current arc and art is about as interesting as watching paint dry at your mother-in-law's house. To me the comic ended when the Marvel Run ended...the rest is just fan-fic to me (and bad fan fic at that). Is that just nostalgia speaking? Probably. But you asked for opinions. As far as "changes" or "Switching gears" on the figures..if it is little things like making sure they can sit down is the change...then I am all for it. If it means putting wrist articulation at the WRIST and not the forearm (where there is not a natural break) then bring it, if it is giving gloves and short sleeves to characters that originally had gloves and short sleeves, I don't have a problem. If we are talking about giving them see-through skin or action features or re-adjusting scale (see Star Wars from 95-now) or giving them uniforms based on DDP then yes I have concerns. I would assume for as many fan that are in these forums you will get that many different answers.
