  1. Lame.......but not really surprised with the way things have been going.
  2. Awesome update to the NightRaven........Yeah, its a little small but its still cool as hell. I'm liking that "stealthy" Strato-Viper too.
  3. Or a business suit.......possibly like the convention exclusive.
  4. Not that I know of........but I think that's when the Sheet is gonna hit the fan.......fanboys everywhere will cry out!!!! @loll@ What are the chances that they got him right????
  5. Indeed that was a bit of a let down but stilll I can't freaking wait to see this movie! If only I could get sneak peak tickets and see it before everyone else like I did with #1 prime getting nailed in the head, and the big roller dude at the end were slowed down! And this was a teaser trailer don't forget, its not suppose to show much, but a tiny glimpse. Add to the fact that it's a very terrible quality video. Even the high def video is no where near as good as watching the actual spot on TV. I suppose thats true but considering where it was airing you would think they would have more to "wow" all the billions of people watching! Because... they have seen & are use to big live action robots now we do indeed need many a "wow" moments for this flick & yes was that ravage or grimlock we saw?.. I'm thinking more ravage cause he is small .... well ... robot ish small anyways Its Ravage... No Dinobots in this movie... Is anyone sure about that......................I've been looking at some Hi-Def pics online and I tell ya what........I'll be damned if that thing doesn't somewhat look like a movie version Dino-bot.....HMMM???? Can we really trust Bay? Cybertronian Allspark pieces melding together with some underwater fossils and all those Decepticon scraps down there. Crazy I know but still........
  6. That's incredibly hard to predict, of course. It all depends on how the film is marketed, how it plays and what it runs up against on the marquee. If the film works as a solid action romp it could do very well and meet the studios expectations. It looks to have the major elements needed for that ( aside from story) in the trailer, so it'll at least draw an audience on opening weekend. Now, whether it'll HOLD that audience.........well, that remains to be seen. You also have to think how this will do internationally..........but most movies these days have a big opening weekend and then die off........Summer Blockbusters are the exception to this......I think Iron Man was Number 1 for 3 weeks and then was knocked off by Indy??? (Can't remember) Those first couple weeks are key........if you don't get it then....you're not going to get it. But if you pay attention to movies and what they make on their opening weekends enough you can get a feel for what people want to see and whats a success. http://boxoffice.com/ Good little website that gives the numbers every weekend and has reviews and other stuff. Also has a great example as to how the GI Joe trailer is being recieved by REGULAR people..........
  7. I've been looking around the web this morning and the GI Joe movie ad isn't making any "favorite" lists from what I've seen, ad wise (which means it didn't stick out to people).......while Transformers 2, Land of the Lost, and The Year One movie ads are. Not high on lists but still there......while GI Joe is not. To the regular everyday person this is Generic Action movie #72...........and what I meant in my earlier post about Transformers ruling the summer was that kids are going to be all about the Autobots and Decepticons............Transformers 2 looks bigger, and badder..........something you haven't seen before, makes you say "I gotta see that".......We've seen this GI Joe movie before a zillion times.........why do you think the action movie genre has somewhat died as of late.......it was killed by superheroes........they are the new action stars. One can argue that the Joes are "Superheroic" but I think the way they are portrayed in this movie will lose a lot of everyday people. I'm not saying my childhood is raped or anything like that.........I'll see the movie, hopefully enjoy it.....(doubt it) but I'm seeing maybe a 40-50 million opening weekend......and then a sharp drop-off.
  8. I just saw the Transformers 2 trailer............anyone else think that this summer will be ruled by the Autobots and Decepticons??? I know it comes out in August.......but still. Transformers 2 looks pretty heavy, and EVERYONE I know is excited for Transformers 2.......even my grandfather (81) is excited for the second one. GI Joe may get lost in the fog.........of Transformers awesomeness.
  9. Definitely looks darker than the first.........Ravage looks scary as hell.....
  10. Over at ESPN.com there are banner ad's for the movie and links that take you to the movie website. Nothing new......but they are giving it a good little push on Super Bowl Sunday.
  11. Exactly, it still looks like Generic Action Movie number #72..........Snake-Eyes is the only thing that let me know that it was a GI Joe movie. It has potential........but I'm still not sold......it really doesn't matter if they sell us.....they already have all of our 8-10 bucks. But to the average person this just looks like another action movie......nothing special. Those aren't GI Joe's..........also those Tech suits look a little like Wraith?
  12. I really didn't want to open any of these but I'm going to have to get that Flint......it took them 3 times to get him right. Unless, that's the Flint from the new boxset coming out.........haven't seen pics in a while. Everything else is......Meh......I'll get a couple just cause of the packaging but other than that not too excited. Slick how they have "1 of 10" or "4 of 10" on the outside of the box though.....trying to trick me into getting them all. "Gotta catch 'em all!!"
  13. I'm really liking that packaging...........I'm not a MOC collector but those cards look nice enough to keep MOC and have them standing up behind my open figures in my display. Plus, the heavy addition of the Red, White and Blue logo doesn't hurt either...........I'm definitely going to pick some of these up. #US1#
  14. Wow.....so everyone is either in all black or in a business suit........Hmmmmm. That Viper is awful......looks like the guys from "Army of Two." All the original GI Joe themes are completely gone from this. It looks like they tried for like 5 minutes.........its a shame really. I know people are saying "Wait till it comes out" but at the rate that things are going it seems to be getting worse and worse. The more I see the more I'm disappointed........my imagination is the only thing saving this for me in my mind......"I hope its good, I hope its good." This thing is going to be this years "Speed Racer" Bet on it...........this isn't even a fanboy rant. It just looks like a bad MOVIE.......I can't even get past it just being a good movie from what I'm seeing much less a good GI Joe movie. @grumpy@
  15. I still have 7 at the Target nearest my house..........they are still at 31.48. Still waiting for them to go down again........ @rambo@ I don't remember them taking so long to mark stuff down last year. I'll check back this weekend.
  16. Well it says that its Walt Disney Video that is producing the DvD's and Disney owns the rights to the 90's X-men, 90's Spider-man, Iron Man, Spidey and his Amazing Friends and a bunch of other Marvel animation. I'm pretty confident that they are finally the cartoons coming out......hopefully at least. Here's another link.........X-men Vol. 1
  17. Was over at Amazon today and noticed a pre-order up for the 90's X-men cartoon that so many of us grew up watching religiously!!!!! April 28th gives us Vol. 1 and 2!!!!! Somehow the news of this hasn't gotten out anywhere really..........I haven't heard anything about it. Disney finally got its head out of its arse.........Hopefully the 90's Spidey isn't far behind............ " Listen to me you egg sucking piece of gutter trash!" wolverine2.gif I can't wait!!!!! http://www.amazon.com/Marvel-X-Men-1-2pc/d...9338&sr=1-2
  18. There are a couple sites around the net that have new GI Joe movie posters up. I don't know what the rules are around here anymore about mentioning other sites. But they are up on MySpace.....I think that's the official website that has them. MySpace isn't a toy website so I hope this is okay to link. Here's a link to the page http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseact...logID=466636202 Kinda lame..........still not liking the all black.....Baroness looks the same as the Joes.
  19. If he makes it out........I have a bad feeling that the Muggs are going to go the way of the Combat Heroes. 2 waves and that's it. @hmmm@ I hope that's not a custom.....looks pretty official, but I have seen some really cool Mugg customs online....so who knows. Edit- Nevermind, he's confirmed I guess he's in the new issue of Toyfare. Like I said though....if he makes it out.
  20. That BAT is AMAZING........awesome re-paint. I'm kinda liking this set........I'll pick it up.
  21. Actually Robbie, I had you in mind when I started this thread. I KNEW you'd agree with me. (lol) I too love the new Snow Job and Torpedo. And I love the first Version 2 Snake Eyes. They actually took my favorite version of my favorite character and improved upon the original design; they gave him combat boots this time and more realistic webgear. The only minor complaints I might have are the fact that he needs to be jet black with slightly lighter gray highlights like the original used to be, and he should have come with the sword that the DVD pack version has. Other than that, perfection. And this is a figure that shares a body construction with at least half a dozen other figures. I just wish they'd fix the few flawed figures in the line. I won't go into which ones those might be. We've all done that to death. Yeah, Barbeque is the man......I know he gets a lot of crap for being "worthless" as a firefighter. But he was always heavy in my JoeVerse as a kid. Always ready to defend his place on the team too...... @smash@ Now all I need is a Slaughter Marauders BBQ and a Mighty Mugg and I can call it a good life. I just got my Combat Hero BBQ the other day.......great stuff. Back to topic.......You know looking at my figures again the other day, I gotta say that Croc Master is another figure that kinda surprised me with being such a cool update. The air tank and Crocodile with opening mouth......... @cool@
  22. I know he's already been mentioned a couple times here but to be honest........ Barbeque. Not just the fact that he's a great underrated sculpt.....but the fact that they actually MADE him in the line. I've been pleasantly surprised with the number of characters we've gotten so far.........Quick-Kick, Airbourne, Bazooka, Falcon, Blowtorch, Copperhead, Doc. Barbeque is one of my favorite characters.......and I was pleasantly surprised that we even got him at all.
  23. They are still 31.48 at the Target by me.......and there is still 7 of them. I'm stationed up in Northeast, WI in a town with 9,000 people. (Population almost triples in the summer) I'm still waiting for these bad boys to go down again. I don't really have anything to worry about with other toy hunters here.......everyone else is more worried about hunting and ice fishing. It is a change from the East coast......toy hunting wise. I would probably get one for 27......but I'm hoping they drop it further due to the fact is was 31 bucks from the first markdown.
  24. Another funny thing is that it kinda shows that they are paying attention to what's being said on the internet. At least with rumors and all, Johnny Depp/Riddler.....and Jolie as Catwoman. Pretty cool stuff.........
