  1. Why are the moderators here conveniently failing to reprimand OneTrueBlue who posted more insulting trash in one message than the jabs found throughout the entire child named after a Transformer thread. For your information OneTrueBlue, I'm happy to be considered a newbie if it separates me from a loser like yourself with a post count greater than most books have pages. I hope you get banned too. Mike turned this into a bar fight by simultaneously insulting any parent that names their child as they wish and the kids themselves. Why would you defend such low behavior? Kinton
  2. QUOTE (Kintoun @ Dec 22 2004, 10:30 PM) QUOTE (Mike @ Dec 22 2004, 10:23 PM) K thanx bye There was no need for this debate to escalate into unpleasant territory. You should have realized that it's not your place to belittle Pogoman's idea. He asked a simple question and you could have answered it simply by saying you wouldn't want to name a child after a Transformer. Instead, you chose to act high and mighty as though it's common sense not to do this. There's no right or wrong involved in this question. Kintoun if you really felt that way, you would have quit earlier. anyways.. im gonna lock this now, I shouldn't be instagating things on here. Feel free to start another thread pogo. I'm sorry we killed this one. This is pathetic. You're still under the mistaken impression that I'm to blame for this incident. It's not my fault that you're an egotistical jerk. There was no reason for me to quit earlier since I was the voice of reason and you were the lunatic insulting people left and right. Kintoun

  4. yeah, and I don't appreciate you calling me a jerk, skip. So cut the bull #$## goody goody attitude and stop trolling my boards. My name isn't skip, moron. Can't you read? Of course you don't appreciate being labelled as a jerk but it's 100% accurate and the truth often hurts. I'm not a troll and I have no attitude goody goody or otherwise. The only bull #S## around here is being hurled from your direction. Kintoun
  5. You're an odd little fella. I'm gonna call you skip. How very polite. In that case, I'm gonna call you ##$%$#edSissyPrincessCryotek. It suits you. Kintoun
  6. We disagree once more and you're so uncomfortable with it that you resort to snide remarks. Big surprise. Nothing went over my head. I don't find your condescending attitude to be the least bit funny. Just think for a minute if someone was in fact given a Transformer name after they were born. Do they deserve to have their parents mercilessly insulted since you don't approve of the name? Who in the world do you think you are? Pogoman already clarified that he was seriously considering the Rodimus name. Every time you diss his idea, you're being rude towards him. Kintoun
  7. Anyone else see something wrong with this sentance Have you ever heard the circular debate about whether the chicken or the egg came first? According to your point of view, I guess anyone who recognizes someone acting like a jerk is a jerk themself if they comment on it. Kintoun
  8. yep.. that's what I said. Merry Christmas to you too! I'm glad to see you finally realize your behavior is obnoxious. As a New Years's resolution, why don't you try to phrase your opinions less abrasively in the future? Kintoun
  9. That's how most kids will react to a boy named Patty not a kid named Rodimus. Kintoun
  10. funny, I could say the same thing about you No, you absolutely could not say the same thing about me. I'm saying there are many Transformer names that will undoubtly lead to a child being teased. Other names will genuinely frighten people. However, there's dozens more that are fine to be used without it being blatantly obvious they're based on Transformers. If you want to name your kid Optimus, I say go for it. You're essentially saying only a fool would name his child after a Transformer. That's an offensive message hence why you're an egotistical jerk and I'm not. Kintoun
  11. Of course, but I will most definatly express my view on the subject You just did go there. You're being very smarmy and egotistical acting as though your judgement in names is automatically superior to that of others. Kintoun
  12. Nope. You're wrong. There is no difference whatsoever between naming yourself LordCryotek and your father naming you LordCryotek. Kintoun
  13. If it's so embarrassing to have a Transformer name, why did you voluntarily name yourself LordCryotek? Kintoun It's called a user name. And I don't have aproblem with the name itself, it's just kids are exceedingly vicious. And It's stupid to have an actual human bear that name, it just doesn't fit. I'm well aware what a user name is. Kintoun isn't my given name either. I think you're just insulting yourself by saying "It's stupid to have an actual human bear that name, it just doesn't fit." You're doing *precisely* that. Not all kids are vicious and I think roughly half of the G1 Transformer names would result in a kid being more popular. Kintoun
  14. If it's so embarrassing to have a Transformer name, why did you voluntarily name yourself LordCryotek? Kintoun
  15. No, I don't have to admit that at all. I find Rodimus to be a fantastic name. The whole basis of your arguement is that children resent parents who give them unusual names. I find the opposite to be true. I knew three boys named Chris in elementary school and I definitely wouldn't like an initial to be necesarry to identify me. What makes you think that a parent needs to justify and state their reasons for naming a child a certain way? I can't fathom a child throwing a tantrum as you predict because he doesn't like a toy franchise that has endured for twenty years. A brat like that has psychological problems that go beyond his name. It's no different than a girl being named Barbie. A name like Rodimus is not going to have a big impact on a kid's personality. Only certain Transformer names like Erector and Flattop would affect a kid's childhood in a very negative way. If you don't like the idea of a kid having the same name as a Transformer, name your own kids something else. It's absurd to act as if everyone shares your opinion that it's a bad idea. Kintoun
  16. I strongly disagree. Let's imagine a parent imaginatively names their child Optimus in the late '70s. In 1984, Transformers are extremely popular among young boys and Optimus Prime in particular is in huge demand. I'd say that kid named Optimus would be seen by his peers as having the coolest name of anyone in his class. Besides, a child with a Transformer name isn't necesarrily named after a cartoon unless you're calling him Energon (which incidentally sounds like a great name if you ask me). There are countless children named Robin. Do they despise their father for hearing Batman jokes every once in a while? I don't think so. If every parent avoided unique names fearing their child being teased, the world would consist of numerous people named Michael in every room. That would be awfully boring. No offense intended. 17. Nope. It's not Nope. Themannamedpatty revived this thread. Nope posted a message on September 6th, 2002 and themannamedpatty replied next today. Kintoun
  18. I think there's plenty of cool names in the Transformers mythos worthy of being given to a kid. Mirage, Prowl, Artfire, Chase, Raindance, Seaspray, Sizzle, etc. all seem perfectly suitable to me. There's no logical reason why a kid can't be named Wheeljack instead of Jack or Cliffjumper rather than Cliff. Unfortunately, other names like Sunstreaker, Skullgrin, Bonecrusher, Overkill, Hardhead, Gunrunner, etc. would probably drastically affect the child's opportunities later in life. I somehow doubt a potential employer will give a good look at the resume of a young man named Triggerhappy. Kintoun

    Holidy Memorys

The small green M.A.S.K. motorcycle/helicopter was named Condor. It was used by Brad Turner who wore the Hocus-Pocus mask. Kintoun
  20. That advice ignores the guidelines surrounding the original question. Arisingquiet already stated "If you have Catwoman as well, what's the secret of putting the goggles on her face over her eyes...without feeling like your going to snap her head/neck off. I'd be so pissed if I did, just trying to force the mask over her eyes, it just seems too tight. Also please don't recommend hot water or something..." Kintoun
  21. I never said I consider a character that hasn't had a figure for twenty years to be repeated over and over. However, a figure that has been repeated only once is nevertheless a repeat by the very definition of the word. That's just a fact. I never said we've had an excessive number of Cover Girl repeats or anything silly like that so please don't put words in my mouth. I'm very excited to purchase this upcoming Cover Girl three pack. I already mentioned that I'm a big fan of Zandar so I desperately want to see a second version of him as soon as possible too. If it was up to me, we'd see more Copperhead, Rip Cord, Footloose, and Airtight toys and less Duke and Cobra Commander action figures but that's straying from the topic. Zartan666 commented on how G.I. Joe fans ironically don't want more Roadblock & Storm Shadow figures yet a large majority want to see those three packs released. You accurately pointed out that the runner ups also contain neglected characters which is what lead me to say there were options even more deserving. The statistics back me up on this. You disagree with me and apparently believe classic characters unseen since the Real American Hero line are automatically more deserving to win this contest. Im not saying you're wrong to feel that way but I don't need to share your opinion. It's not inevitable that Coil Trooper and Firewall will be made someday by Hasbro. For all we know, this could have been their one brief moment to be made in plastic. I somehow doubt Pythona and Big Lob will receive action figures in the next ten years. Kintoun
  22. I understand your point but I see things the opposite way. The topic was dealing with characters being repeated over and over. The winner pack will contain one new character and two repeats. The Issue #4 pack would have involved 2 brand characters and 1 repeat. Likewise, the issue #24 pack would have featured 2 brand new characters and 1 repeat. This influenced my voting a great deal. For instance, I was eager to support an Overlord action figure but I didn't want to vote for Roadblock at the same time. Kintoun
  23. I really wish that were the case but Scorponok & Terrorsaur actually died in the first episode of season 2 titled 'Aftermath'. Ben Yee's web site describes the scene as follows: --------------------------------------------------------------------- As the Quantum Surge hits the planet, the Maximals and Predacons alike are knocked unconscious. At the Predacon ship, Scorponok and Terrorsaur are knocked off their floating platforms and fall into a pool of lava. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 'Code of Hero' was the ninth episode from that season. Neither Scorponok or Terrorsaur appear in the attack on the valley where the first ancestors of the humans began to develop. Beast Wars is one of my favorite shows still airing on TV but the casual way the writers disposed of these 2 Predacons was pretty pathetic. I'm not against Transformers being killed but it's common sense to have them say some last words. Kintoun
  24. I believe it was established recently in G.I. Joe Vs. Transformers II #4 from Devil's Due Publishing that Beachhead had a metal plate in his head that prevented him from carrying out a plan to save Earth. Since Roadblock and Lady Jaye volunteered for the task, that means neither has a metal plate. Of course, this mini-series was set in an alternate reality so it's not necesarrily canon that this information applies to the 'real' Beachhead. Kintoun
  25. Technically, there have been 4 Spirit action figures counting the 1993 International Action Force mail order four pack. There were a few options even more deserving than the winner in terms of neglected characters. Issue 4 would have included the first action figures ever for Alexander & Mistress Armada along with the third Cobra Trooper while issue #24 was planned to feature the first Coil Trooper and Firewall toys and the second Zandar.
