  1. Well, it's been a busy 4th but the 25th reviews are going up! I'll have the entire GIJoe battle pack posted tonight with the Cobra figures going up tomorrow night. (Not bad considering that they arrived Monday night!) I won't lie-- I'm very direct on what I think of these figures and, in some cases, it's not kind. However, you can find the reviews at the newly created 25th Anniversary Index. (Also, if anyone has a line on the first wave of single packs I could use some help!)
  2. Is it me or is Flint's head a bit too large? Seriously, it's been bugging me since I saw the first final pics of him. It's almost like Agent Face's ST mask was put over Duke's head.
  3. Thanks for the info, Jay. Personally, if they just made ONE Joe/TF crossover toy I'd love to see the Optimus Prime HISS tank from the DDP crossover books. Heck, you could offer it as a dual convention exclusive-- red deco for the Joe con and black deco for Botcon. Either way, it would be AMAZING!! However, I don't think we'd ever get one that would fit the 3.5" figs. Maybe the S6 2.5" but that's about it. It'd be one heck of a kitbash, however.
  4. Oddly enough, there's an ebay seller in Colorado who has the singles listed as "in hand" right now so it does lend credibility to your post. Great-- now I've got to start actively looking again!
  5. That's either "quote of the day" or one of the scariest things I've heard this week!
  6. I put a few in the joint preview that GeneralsJoes/JBL did of Scarlett. (As it's not hosted on my site I'll just post a link so that I'm not stealing Justin's bandwidth.) http://www.generalsjoes.com/reviews/2007/a...ett_preprod.htm Scroll down the page and you'll see how well Scarlett "doesn't" sit. I know a lot of people are glossing over this fact but it's something that really bugs me about these figures. When I have my set "in hand" on Monday I'll post some more pics with the Marauder folding chairs. I just know the results won't be pretty.
  7. Board member "Steel" over at JBL has apparently got his hands on the 25th stuff already and has sent me a bunch of pics. Cobra 5-pack GIJoe 5-pack Also, over at JoeCustoms Spin Doctor has posted a few more pics. I think that's all of the links that I can find for now. Enjoy!
  8. Guys, It's really too soon to start checking the stores. The figs shipped from HASBRO'S warehouse to the retailers on Monday. There is no way in hades that these figures are going to start showing up in stores already. Heck, most stores don't schedule their fall resets until August so when they do it, it's going to be pretty random as to where they will be situated. Don't go busting your butt looking now-- they're not going to be there, yet. Now, online stores are another story entirely. Leo
  9. Justin posted this elsewhere but I'll repost here-- Apparently YJ has an overseas source for these and they managed to buy them early.
  10. Glad to be able to help out! It just make sense to post a list of all of the links so that everyone could read over ALL of the answers.
  11. My fiance said the same thing when I showed her the pic. She got this strange look, told me it was scary and that I had issues. It's nice to get confirmation on these things now and then! Glad you guys liked the review. For my half I tried to be as objective as possible. I don't want to lead Joe fans astray by NOT pointing out the flaws in something and yet I'm trying to avoid the whole "OMG! Deth of teh line!1!!!!" stereotype as well.
  12. It's probably the only one in production at the moment. Don't know why that may be, though. Or the only one made at the factory where the guy is getting these from. I finished shoot pics of the one that arrived today just a few minutes ago. She's just slightly shorter than the SpyTroops version of Shipwreck and closer to Major Barrage than she is to 3.75". Essentially, about half a head taller than the comic pack #9 version.
  13. This is something I never thought I'd be able to say: DTC Wave 4 has been reviewed in its entirety. A while back four of the six figures from this now-cancelled wave made a brief appearance on Ebay and General Hawk and I were able to snag one of each. We teamed up on our first "tag team" reviews and were able to put together a look at these now-illusive figures. Thanks to the generosity of another GIJoe collector, we were able to get a close look at the final two figures in the wave-- Falcon and the Cobra Officer. How do these final two figures measure up? You'll have to hit the DTC Review Index and see for yourself!
  14. Here's the version that appears in Lee's #175. I shocked the patrons tonight when my exact words in Barnes & Noble tonight were "HOLY #$@#!!!" (I love having an all-in-one scanner!)
  15. Yeah, I'm a sucker. I'm hoping to get her early enough to post some pics for you guys so that we can finally see how this figure will measure up compared to the classic RAH construction. The pics on the YJ forums didn't really show her sitting nor did it show comparison shots of Scarlett with any of her RAH-era (or GvC for that matter) counterparts. Fortunately it didn't go for too high of a price but the word I've been hearing is that this won't be hitting stores (brick-n-mortar) until June at the earliest. So, when she's "in hand" you guys will know as I'll start posting pics. (I just wish Gung-Ho went up first!)
  16. No joke. Seriously....think of all the collectors here, if they got their hands on one of these like this, and the ability to take BETTER pictures, do comparison shots, scrutinize the hell out of it, for our pleasure and peace of mind or eager curiosity. So MUCH potential to quell rumors or cease speculation, and none of it's being offered. I swear some days it's like Viper Hunter's reading my mind... which is a scary thought unto itself! Look for a "preview" of Scarlett in the not-so-distant future similar to the DTC Wave 4 preview that was posted at JBL. Let's just say that another collaboration is in the works! Leo being crytic for cryptic's sake
  17. Jeff, You made a good point about my sponsorship relationship with HQ. Let me clarify-- the only folks who sponsors at JBL are stores that I've ordered with plenty of times pre-sponsorship. Each of those businesses went on to provide great service and product each time I ordered, so after a while I asked them to become site sponsors. Plain and simple, if someone is a sponsor at JBL, it's because I know that they'll do right by the forum members there (and elsewhere). I've had sponsors that I've removed due to excessive complaints by forum members and the community at large (although I'm not going to name names just to avoid the appearance of mud-slinging). Like I said before, HQ has NEVER done me wrong-- and that's why they became a sponsor of JBL in the first place. However, I can understand how there might appear to be bias in my statements and I guess there is. I've always had good experiences therefore I hope everyone else will also. Make sense?
  18. I've been dealing with Curt ever since he fixed an order for me with GIJoeCenter.com-- well back in the SpyTroops days. He's always been upfront, helpful, and forthright in all of our dealings. Heck, he's even suggested figures to me that I never would have purchased otherwise. I can't think of a better source for vintage Joes than HQ. If you've had a problem with him recently, just contact him. Curt's always been good that way and I've yet to have a bad experience with him. Granted, I can't speak for every order placed by every customer but when you work in volume, things sometimes happen. In over 4 years I'm still one satisfied customer-- satisfied enough to ask him to be a site sponsor at JBL.
  19. Ummmm.... yeah..... You do realize that NO business is simply going to reveal their business plan for the next year just because you ask them about it, right? Just checking....
  20. Okay, while I'm getting a bit tired of seeing head used for everyone from Firefly to Storm Shadow, I can only say this: AMAZING!!! Seriously, a faithful new sculpt version of Beach Head has yet to be achieve and yet you just nailed it in one custom! Love the color palette used, dig the sculpting on the chest, and am impressed by the parts combination! This would have been a slam dunk if Hasbro produced it in DTC! Great work!
  21. A couple of sites have already posted the responses that they received. JoeBattlelines.com JoeCustoms.com YoJoe.com JoeSightings.com CoolToyReview.com
  22. Wow-- it's been a long time since I've reviewed ANYTHING it seems! Marauder Gun-Runners has only recently delved into the realm of vehicles. As with their previous accessories offerings, MGR is now offering select M&C Toy Centre vehicles at their usual reasonable prices. These vehicles (more commonly known as 'Power Team Elite') combine durability and detailed sculpts with reasonable prices to produce some of the "best buy" vehicles on the market! Check them out in the Marauder Index and add a few to your motorpool today!
  23. "And the seventh seal was cracked and the world was laid to waste. The children of man cried out in woe as Desolation was unto the world." Okay, I feel like grabbing a placard with "The End is Nigh" and hanging out in front of Hasbro. Of course, if VH got the job we can be certain he'd put out lots of new 8" stuff.
  24. You have to wonder just how many times the 1986 Hasbro design team went and saw the movie "Aliens". It was certainly a sufficient number of showings to cement the design of the Colonial Marines firmly in their minds as the very next year, Dodger joined Battle Force 2000. Yet, Dodger isn't just a knock-off of one of the characters from James Cameron's sci-fi masterpiece-- he's one of those figures where everything just comes together. He's also the subject of the latest RAH Review at JBL! Check it out at the 1987 Review Index!
  25. C'est la vie. I try to be realistic about things like this as quite often my tastes are far from mainstream. (My obsession with Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys is proof of that.) Hasbro didn't feel that the line (DTC) was commercially viable-- especially with the 25th product looming on the horizon. They showcased Wave 4 at Toy Fair and the Joe Con but it seems that the retailer (and the fan) interest just wasn't there. So, they scrapped one wave of figures in favor of the new style 25th line. Now, this doesn't mean that we'll NEVER see these figs released but it means that we won't be seeing them any time soon at mass retail. Personally, I'd love to get my hands on one of those gray VvV Firefly figs that surface on Ebay a year or so ago but those went the way of Wave 4. (The same can be said for that uber-slick 3.75" Sigma 6 Cobra Commander.) Of the entire wave, my biggest regret is that the Night Viper isn't going to see release. I wasn't initially sold on it but seeing it in person really won me over. However, now it's time to prep for the 25th Collection. I want my Gung-Ho!!!
