  1. Why would you link to those crappy reviews? @wink@ You getting out of the game, Brandon?
  2. I love mixing 3.75" scale toy lines together-- at least for some "humorous" photos. This year is proving to be a toy renaissance for me as so many lines are coming out in the "great scale". Here's a few older photos:
  3. I just got the ship notice on mine from HTS this week so I should have him up not too long after he arrives. Of course, my opinion might vary on this from some folks as I've been collecting the Indiana Jones line which is the source of this figure's body construction. Glad to read that folks enjoy the reviews and find them helpful-- which was the reason I started writing reviews in the first place! Now I've got work on the vehicles, DVD packs, and the comic packs!
  4. New product seems to be coming out every five minutes lately. However, finally I was able to sit down and work on getting caught up. The reviews for 2008 wave 5 have been added to the 25th Anniversary Review Index! Check 'em out and post your thoughts on these latest additions!
  5. Bloomingdale?! That's just 2 hours north! C'mon Peoria!!
  6. Just when you thought Justin and I were slacking off, squandering our time on Xbox LIVE instead of working on "important things", a brand new set of reviews debuts! Just hitting stores (and e-tailers) is 2008 wave 4-- featuring the long-anticipated release of Major Bludd! It's an interesting wave with some high points and some definite low points. You can check out the reviews (as well as a bunch of Indy gags) at the 25th Anniversary Review Index ! Also, a lot of folks have mentioned that the "white text on black background" was a bit hard to read. I adjusted the template somewhat to make it everything a bit more legible! Check back next week when Justin and I take on the Wave 4 comic packs including the uber-slick new Firefly! Fred
  7. I would so be all over that set if it were released commercially! FANTASTIC work!
  8. Awesome Jay-- that's for posting this! While I wasn't a huge fan of the "aliens" in the film, I still like the figure!
  9. I managed to snag these myself on the way to work today. Pics: http://joebattlelines.com/phpBB3/viewtopic...?f=5&t=6296 Honestly, if it weren't for having to write reviews most of these figures would receive a "pass" from me.
  10. General Hawk and I take a look at this latest wave of 25A figures that's only recently beginning to hit store shelves in any significant quantities. It's a pretty broad spectrum of characters from Spirit, Wild Bill, and Snake Eyes on the Joe side to the Cobra HISS driver and the much-anticipated Viper for Cobra. Somewhere along the way, Duke decided to change his clothes and "jump" on the bandwagon! Check them out at the 25th Anniversary Review Index!
  11. That would be me. However, once I started buying these I just had to keep going. As of now, I've got one of everything (except for the two temple "action" deluxe sets) and a few extras. Raiders Indy: X2 Whipping Indy: X1 Belloq: X1 Sallah: X1 Marion Ravenwood: X1 Monkey Man: X1 Cairo Swordsman: X1 German trooper (individual): X4 Marion & Cairo Thug: X1 German trooper 2-pack : X5 Ugha warrior: X4 Cemetary warrior X4 Mutt Williams (jacket): X1 Mutt Williams (t-shirt): X1 Irina Spalko: X1 (although I see her all of the time) Colonel Dovchenko: X1 Russian Soldier: X5 KotC Indy: X2 KotC Indy w/ RPG: X1 Indy with Horse: X1 Marion Ravenwood & Cairo thug: X1 German trooper on motorcyle: X2 German truck: X1 German staff car: X1 Jungle Cutter: X1 This line is one of the most pleasant surprises of the past few years!
  12. Found mine yesterday at Target in Peoria, IL. I've yet to open it as I'm trying to make space to display my rapidly growing Indiana Jones figure collection. This line is simply too addictive!
  13. Holy Schnikes! That's a lot of troops! Are those all from the two-packs or are there some singles in there as well? I too have succombed to the lure of Indy and have bought a fair amount of the figure including a bunch of Russian and German soldiers. I haven't been this excited about a toy line in years-- and right now that includes GIJoe!
  14. Wow, that's classy... especially for site staff. I'm sure Hasbro's thrilled with how they used a promotional figure. LAME! I'm glad to see that JayC used his for a constructive purpose such as posting the spotlight feature. That's how something like this should be used-- for the benefit of the community as opposed to the benefit of someone's wallet.
  15. Sigh... Walmart, Target, and Kmart in my area are way too efficient at enforcing street dates!
  16. Plain and simple, Doc is back! General Hawk and I take a look at Hasbro's latest mail-away figure and he's well worth the wait. Check him out in the 25th Anniversary Review Index!
  17. General Hawk and I team up once again-- this time taking a look at the most reasonably-priced retail exclusives I can remember seeing! The Target-exclusive AWE Striker w/Crankcase, the Cobra HISS w/vehicle driver, and the Night Specter w/Grand Slam are the latest additions to the 25th Anniversary Review Index!
  18. General Hawk and I've teamed up once again to cover the three latest additions to the 25th Anniversary line: Battle Armor Cobra Commander, Rock 'n Roll, and Torpedo. While it's not the largest wave released in this two-year series, it contains some of the most ambitious figures yet attempted by Hasbro in this new line. (Plus, the Original 13's roster grows by one more!) So, check out 2008 wave 2 (and the newly posted wave 1) at the 25th Anniversary Review Index!
  19. The others pretty much hit the nail on the head-- both in how to list and where to offer the figures. Right now the 25A figs are "the new hotness" and so prices on GvC era figures really aren't what you'd expect (or hope) for them to be. I'd suggested putting your troop builders into groups of 5 or so to save yourself the trouble of listing them all individually-- especially if you've got a lot of them. I do like the idea of listing them here first-- only because it would be nice to see the figures go to fans first rather than see a bunch of dealers snag them all on Ebay solely for the purpose of reselling them.
  20. I'll be the first to admit that this round of reviews has taken longer than normal. (A full computer system crash pushed everything back by two weeks-- and wiped out a lot of my photos.) However, it's a pretty varied wave of figures that Justin and I take a look at. There are some great figs, some okay figs, a few surprises, and some that I just don't need to see again. You can check them all out in the 25th Anniversary Comic Pack Index over at JBL!
  21. I'm in the process of modifying a "Tumbler" Batmobile from "Batman Begins" to serve as the new Thunder Machine. It's big, it's menacing, and it just looks like something the Noks would LOVE!
  22. Just a thought--- Post a link for those folks who want to listen in-- this way you can build your audience with the folks here and at the other Joe boards!
  23. Not Justin-- but those were my (and Madmac's) pics. The playset is the Spawn Alley released a number of years ago by "Todd Toys". (This was before McFarlane was the company name.) It's supposed to be designed for 5" figures but works really well with Joes!
  24. New reviews have been posted! Justin and I take a look at the new 25th Anniversary comic packs hitting shelves everywhere. However, this time we brought along an extra "shemp" for the ride-- as Scott "madmac41" McAllister adds in his thoughts on the Dreadnoks featured in Comic Pack #30. So, it's five reviews, ten new figures, and three reviewers all found in the newly launched 25th Anniversary Comic Pack Index. (BTW-- holler if you like the "easter egg" wallpaper. My fiance helped with that one and I thought it came out rather well.)
  25. FLAWLESS!!! Seriously, that is some OUTSTANDING work!
