  1. It was a great run. I really liked the way stories built on earlier ones. And you can rewatch the tapes you made as often as you want. And of course the toys are still coming out.
  2. interesting. they were full price two days ago at my local target.
  3. No need to upload. No need to post them. They are right here at TNI (and many other sites). At TNI, just click on the "Conventions" tab to start and pick a convention to see all the galleries of pictures that were taken there for us. For the JLU, we've got a boatload of stuff coming. From Toy Fair 06 Vigilante, Rocket Red, the Ray, Shining Knight, Huntress, Zatanna, Etrigan, Shayera, GL Kyle Rayner, GL Katma Tui, GL Arkus Chummuk maybe more From SDCC 05 Dr. Light (female hero), Vixen, GL Kilowag, GL Tomar Re, Steel, Supergirl, Lex Luthor, Copperhead, Mirror Master maybe more
  4. A lot of posters are forgetting that only 6 episodes of this seasons have aired in the US. The season is only over if you live outside the US or downloaded the episodes. I'm still looking forward to more episodes of this season than I have seen. There is also always the possibilities of reruns.
  5. This is a DC vs Marvel thing. If your 'team member' loses, you won't be happy. Kurt Busiek wrote a pretty good one. Amalgam had one a few years back. I don't think anyone was happy with how all the battles went in either series.
  6. head on over to www.wizkidsgames.com to see the full announcement of Sinsiter - the next Marvel Heroclix expansion and Danger Room - the next starter set for the game.
  7. In the States, we've seen 4 from this season. The next one is due in 8 days, Feb 11.
  8. 5x10? That means episode 10 of season 5. Only 3 episodes left for you guys. Me, I've got 9 to see.
  9. Booster Gold, maybe more of the Justice League from the International era. The Ray II, he had a good run of 25+ issues. We have Adam Strange and Hawkman. That version of Hawkgirl is due in the upcoming JSA wave. Electrc Blue Superman is cool. If you like him, check out the new set of WizKidsGames.com Heroclix due out in a few weeks. Superman Blue AND Superman Red are both in the set.
  10. The new packaging clearly marks the JLU line as part of the DC Superheroes broader line. I wonder if this was a preemptive move on Mattel's part to allow the JLU line to continue as part of the wider scope DC offereings in the event of show cancellation. Sort of offering the same characters in two different sizes and styles. Hmmm...
  11. Let's not write off the toy/merchandise lines too fast. Let's at least wait the two weeks until Toy Fair and see what Mattel, Monogram, and other licensees show. We've waited months for new episodes, I can wait two weeks to find out where the product is headed.
  12. Well, he is brand manager of the line.
  13. Boy Wonder, the Mattel rep who posts at AFI, stated that JLU had to compete with a lot more lines for resources this year because Mattel has 22(!) lines coming out this year. There are figures shown at SDCC 2005 that will still be shipping well into 2006. There have been more than hints that Etrigan, Manhunter robot, Huntress, and Zatanna are in the line for Fall 2006, along with singles of Metamorpho and Orion. The line is being refocused as a 'collectors' line from a kids line. We still have 9 episodes to air in the US. Unless things have radically changed, this line is far from over.
  14. Just glad to hear an episode aired anywhere. Gives the rest of us hope that it will appear where we are soon.

    New DCD Sol

I'm probably skipping all of these. The Ross line just makes me think DC has run out of characters. I've had a chance to buy all of these already. I know not everyone has been collecting since the beginning of DCD, and its nice for DC to make these again, but Zatanna and Hawkman are both in the Identity Crisis line. In fact these lines are stepping all over each other. Infinite Crisis - shows that DCD knows there is a universe beyond the Satellite JLofA. But the selection just bores me. Alexander Luthor? Superboy Prime? Their costumes are snoozeville. Mongul is just a boring character. And as a JLI fan, I don't want a reminder of OMAC on my shelf. The price point on the 13" line just puts it beyond consideration.
  16. Nightwing is not on the show due to Robin being tied up in Teen Titans Go. Personally, all the Batman characters got plenty of airtime on BTAS. We need to have the JLU focus on the other characters of the DCU. Blue Beetle is not on the show due to a 1939 radio show about the original character contract stating that he cannot appear in any other electronic media. Rumor is this contract ends in 2007. Plastic Man, Firestorm, and Adam Strange being absent has not been accounted for. In terms of toys, Captain Atom, the Question, Captain Marvel/Shazam were left off the contract and Mattel cannot currently make them. Looking forward to Toy Fair 2006 to see who else willjoin our plastic versions of the Justice League.
  17. great show. For those who are just finding it, the first season comes out on DVD in March. The crime is that Cartoon Network doesn't seem to run the episodes more than once.
  18. That's typical for DC though. They have at least four versions of just about everyone.
  19. Zatanna joined the JLofA in issue 161, wearing a copy of her mother's costume. About a year later, George Perez designed her this new costume and she wore it from then through the end of her membership - I think her last appearance as a member was JLofA 257. That is a decent length of time. DC Direct has made her in the Magicians outfit that she currently wears, early on in the line. I bought it, expecting they would never revisit her. For fans of the Satellite JLA, its nice to see her in the costume she wore for so long in so many adventures. After it comes out, feel free to PM me. I might just be willing to sell you my old one. (It appears she may be included in the coat and tails costume in the Alex Ross Justice line as well. Rumor also has it Zatanna may appear in the JLUnlimited line from Mattel in 2006.)
  20. The original poster also mentioned Batvillains. These have been pushed out of the JLU show and now are appearing in the new "The Batman" show. Blue Beetle's TV rights are tied to a 1940's radio show license that prevents him from appearing in any other electronic media, even types that were not yet created. Not sure on Plastic Man, but it was discussed a lot on www.toonzone.net when "The Greatest Story Never Told" episode aired featuring Booster Gold and Elongated Man because Plastic Man was mentioned but not seen. Firestorm's absense is a curiousity no one has ever really pinned down. Mattel's contract with DC/TimeWarner is for Batman, Superman, and JL/JLU cartoon. While the contract covers just about everyone on the show, some characters are just not included in the license, including Captain Atom, the Question, Shazam. Static, having his own show, has a separate license. I'm still confused by the comment about "Hercules", who has not appeared on JL/JLU, and in DC is just a minor Wonder Woman foe. I would think he would be more likely to appear in a Marvel toy line where he is a regular recurring character and has been a member of the Avengers.
  21. Are you referring to starring on the show or as figures? We know Blue Beetle and Plastic Man cannot be on the show. We know that Mattel cannot make Captain Atom, the Question, Shazam, Static & friends, and Lobo as figures. Between what has been out already and what was shown at SDCC 2005 (see pics right here at TNI) Mattel has made a great quantity and variety of figures. And they seem to be expanding into the areas of heroines, villains, and guest stars (GL Corps).
  22. DCD made Blue Beetle a while back. Booster has been promised for some time in 2006.
  23. See the report with pictures right here at TNI of the Mattel JLU line for Spring 2006 shown at SDCC 2005. Lots of goodies coming. But no Zatanna - yet.
  24. You must have missed the hundred threads - across numerous websites - back when the line started about who could NOT be made. Mattel Reps have stated they cannot make the following: Captain Atom the Question Lobo Shazam/Captain Marvel Plastic Man Static & his friends anyone NOT on the show (that would include Firestorm, Blue Beetle) And most Batman villains are now reserved for 'The Batman' line.
  25. This question gets asked a lot. A poster named 'Superfly' keeps a pretty good list at a few other sites (ROC & AFI)
