  1. I'm looking for a GI Joe font set that includes the font style that was used to create the cool looking cobra numbers and letters. Is there a quick link to a free down load to this. Thanks in advance for any help on this. Skull
  2. Well originally I was not going to say anything about your post, cos quite frankly not everybody reads on all the other sites. However the way you discredited my topic about new rumors based on 4inch figure news: "Well I see nothing about what you post except the Target rumors I posted on another thread" That sort of set me off. Honestly I don't have time to read every post/topic made here by you to see if I was bringing anything up that you beat me to. I thought what I found on galactic hunter was pretty cool and somewhat news worthy. Most of all, this is suppose to be fun, right? Your above comment I thought was pretty rude. Anyhow the only rumor/target post Ive seen is the "rumor mill" which contained rumors months old compared to what I posted. So sorry if I took liberties with my sarcasm. I was only reacting to what you posted and took it a little to far. But at least you can figure what I thought about your comment on my thread. So how about we call it even.
  3. I originally wasn't going to say anything but, honestly with all the dramatic wording in the beginning of your post "I was holding this back until the time was right" I just couldn't stop laughing. I remember hoping to read something new and exciting when I first read it on 4-23-07 (when you first made the post) only to find it was something that I've read about through other sources like galactichunter.com or rebelscum.com (I forget which) a couple weeks before the 23rd. The ARC repaint has been real old news and the battle pack is a month old. I think the only thing really new here is the tie-bomber. Just thought I'd pop in and mention that.
  4. News from GalacticHunter.com!!!!! Click or copy paste http://www.4-inches.de/inhalt/news.htm Han Solo with Torture Rack Lando in Smuggler Outfit Rebel Trooper with Ralph McQuarrie's head Super articulated 4-LOM And there so many more listed, it is unreal. My personal favorite: Imperial Shuttle - September 2007 Could this possibly be the one from ROTS? That would be so cool if it was and in due time along with the V-wing fighters. Only bad thing is it means I have to buy more clone pilots damn.
  5. If you are just catching on, this is the problem with White Wolfs little project. "You on the other hand allow the store to "think" it has merchandise while it is stashed somewhere waiting for you to buy it. That slows down the whole system. 30AC cases are usually showing up 1 at a time." The main point is that the figure that are being horded are not being bought until a week later. The TRU computers will tell the purchasing department that they still have the shipment or stock and thus the purchaser won't set out an order for new toys for other collectors to get. It is bad enough that distribution is bad on star wars (it's a non movie season you know). But to add that while you may go to white wolfs store looking for a star wars figure or vehicle, you won't find it cos he has it stashed in the back waiting to see if he can buy it or not. TRU won't restock because they think it still there and thus needs to be sold. White wolfs good intentions end up F*&king over fellow collectors because now they have to wait longer to get what they want, if it even comes in. Now what I'm saying to every TNI star wars collector in White wolfs area is to simply to not give up just because you don't see it on the shelves, but actualy ask the TRU employee to pull up on the computer what is really in stock (obviously what should be on the floor) and if you see what you want is listed, tell them to hunt it down: "I've traveled all this way to get it, I'm not leaving till until someone finds it, I'm willing to pay and I'm paying now!". This works best when you call ahead first to conferm what you want is in stock. Who knows one of you (Sean or the other guy mm74md or Lord Amron who's moving over there) just may end up taking from White wolfs little stash "sorry wolfy, but we got a REAL PAYING customer ready to buy right NOW!". Now that would be funny. If you get first dibs on buying something cool, then great! Buy it right then and there, don't stash it, new shipments won't come in till the stash you horde is actually sold! There is no need to blast white wolf anymore, it is better to use the new info your learned about here to your advantage and become a smarter more savvy collector.
  6. There's a truth to that, but there are still vehicles that have not been re-released for a while; clone gunship, ARC fighter (awaiting a repaint), that battery operated walker vehicle for clones (what happened to that one?). The star fighters (both classes) are an easy redo since there are so many re colors in the movies and video games. This is why they are every where.
  7. But when I was in your very store and saw them still in the managers office I got P'SSED. If you dont' have the friggin money to buy them, then don't let them sit around while others can. If you have the money, great...take advantage of your job and buy them on your break. Enough said Talk about getting busted, yep that's enough to piss a collector off. We don't need to keep venting on whitewolf here. His question was, "is first dibs holding figures in the back till next pay check ethical", the answer is NO. regardless of the policies of his store his practice of holding figures till he's ready to buy them is not ethical, period. I think we have that covered. Now as collectors and customers we have a certian power or advantage. But again hind sight is 20/20. All mm74md needed to do was ask the teller if the figure he's looking for (or saw in the window of the managers office) was listed as in stock in the computer. If yes (which it will be if it is on hold in a managers office and not sold) then just request to have it tracked down. Don't leave the store till you get it. I'm pretty sure a customer who's willing to buy now will win over a worker who's tentatively waiting to see if the toys he's holding will fit the budget at next pay day. I know I sure as hell would win @firedevil@ Now thanks to this thread I've learned alot more about hording and how worker bees can add frustration to a simple collecting hobby. The new tactic I'll be employing is phoning my local stores first, asked them to check what is in the computer (not what's on the shelves) and then if I find the right store, same thing...go to the closest register to the toy section and ask them to pull the toy for me since I have confirmed it's on the computer. No more rummaging thru shelves to find what I want. I think a policy should be in place by every big box store and TRU to mandate a one per customer, that is one character / and vehicle variant per customer. you can get one of every character and one of every vehicle in the wave per day. This would nab army builders in the butt and give the rest of us a chance to get what we want. And of course another policy stores should follow is worker bees have to wait till they are off shift to get what they want, no hording. I know this will never happen but we can dream at least. My best advice to collectors against the white wolfs of the world is be armed with the UPC and any other serial number of the toy you want. If it shows up as in stock in the stores computer then it's there; on the floor or not. Don't leave till you get what you need.
  8. Well the point was missed here. Saturation was meant to be sarcasm. Usually there is an actual release date for star wars waves and such. That is all I am asking for. In an off movie year star wars is thinly distributed anyways and since V-wing fighters and Sith Infiltrators have been so long over due for most collector shelves, I figure that these 2 vehicles are going to be the most popular yet. There was an early sighting, I just wanted to know if it is a fluke.
  9. For me it is real simple; I would like to be able to walk into one of the many targets/walmarts in my area, especially the walmart down the street and with out it being a mission, but on the off chance I'm shopping for something else (stuff for the house, food for the cat that sort of thing), walk into the toy section only to find that what was rumored to be out is easy for me to buy. Simple! no running around from store to store on some hunt. Star Wars in it's non movie season has proved time and time again to be thinly distributed. Of course it is going to be...there's no movie to support it. Kids don't care about it. For most children it's some cartoon character on the FOX Box or what is being distributed in toy form to support a movie. So when it comes to popular figures and vehicles (especially the long awaited ones) distributed in an off non movie year it becomes hard to get what you want when if you are not battling scalps you now have to pray that those working in the toy section from stock boy all the way up to manager is not storing it in the back until, they can afford it on their next pay check, they sell it to a TNI member (with out thinking there are TNI members wanting to buy it from their store), get enough to army build, get enough to make customs, get what they need to do a review, or what ever the reason is. Oh and there is an incentive to holding on to figures till next pay check, at least for walmart workers (I'm sure for target as well). See a friend of mine who used to work at walmart would get an extra % off of what they would buy, being a walmart worker. It wasn't much but still it meant she paid less than the customer regardless. I think the frustration in all of this is that it is not easy to get what you want with out having to pay extra to get it (in gas or Online). Since Star Wars is coming out with cool stuff we would like to have but in a non movie season, Hasbro is not going to spend the money to make large amounts of the toys. Stores are not going to order alot because Spiderman 3 and Transformers is big on the market right now. Again all of these issues are just inconveniences, however I must point out they do nothing to the bottom line of a store, it just an annoyance to adult collectors like us. Most of us who are older collectors really have more important priorities than just buying toys hence why most of us refuse to spend extra on a toy that should be $6. It would be nice just to walk in one day one your once a month or twice a month trip to the target or walmart and treat yourself to something you know is suppose to be out on the shelves to support your hobby.
  10. I know there have been sightings but I have not had much luck and I have at least 4 stores to choose from. is there an actual official release date of when V-wing fighters should be saturating the shelves or is what I am looking for out and gone?
  11. Well, heres the thing...unlike other toy lines star wars is really truly thinly distributed. its not like transformers where one will eventually get what they are looking for. even the hardest to find robots like classics jetfire saw some shelf life. but star wars is far more popular with collectors and thinly packed figures that tend act as "holy grail'' for some of you are never seen again. right now I'm searching for one of 2 very long awaited vehicles; v-wing starfighter. this thing should have been out along with its other very popular counterpart darth mals star ship. these 2 are packed with the white tie fighter and another ep2 jedi star fighter. I've seen the latter 2 many times over but somehow I keep missing what is turning into my '' white whale ''. the added possibility of workers hording toys in the back makes this search much harder. the biggest expense in this hobby is gas. we drive from store to store hoping to find what we want. I should be lucky cos I have several stores that are in either close driving distance or even a walmart in walking distance. but you know what? I've scored nothing. now imagine all of those collectors out there who are not as fortunate as me. they have to travel 40 min to an hour away! I'm sure your reviews are good (I havn't paid attention to who's writing what) but using your side hobby as the Rodger Ebert of toys to justify, why you can't just put the case out on the floor for the rest of the collectors in your area to enjoy, is just poor form, especially when discussing ethics. I think it is about time for you to learn the real hard work that is involved in this hobby. And since we are on the subject of cases here, what about the extra figures? are there not duplicates of each character in the case assortment? but in hind sight there is a way around this; UPC codes. the target clerk just scans the upc of any star wars toy and bam! every star wars toy that came into shipment and not yet sold is there. if what I am looking for is on that list and not on the floor, you can bet I am not leaving the store until some one finds it in the back. as far as ebay scalps, I've made a guy drop his case of multiple assortment of clone commanders from ROTS to get one of what I wanted, before he hit the register.
  12. [merged thread] I went to look for something in the Star Wars forum and I can't find it here, What Happened?
  13. I want THAT Firefly to be a part of the new RAH line of Sigma Six styled figures coming out.
  14. You wanna know where Shipwreak's at? he's at my Wallmart and at my Target's heating up the freak'n pegs...OK?!
  15. Yep, my target will have these in force. I'll wait till may thank you very much.
  16. Kindda puts a whole new spin on that one guy saying that rebelscum is chasing stars away doesn't? It's good to hear some real news on the subject!
  17. Ya the new figs look good but I'm just disappointed that hasbro didn't decide to do major interesting characters first before doing th redos. It would be nice if they go thru original characters first before doing the second versions. We need to see more interesting guys like Fire fly, Zartan, the 3 main dreadnocks, lady jay, shipwreak, major bludd, ripcord and the twins before we can call this a good representation of Joe anniversary.
  18. Come on I thought this was suppose to be the big Anniversary thing with the figures where we finally get all of our original favorites, but repaints and second versions of the same character??????? I was expecting to read about the new Zartan figure or new firefly. Yep let down for sure.....
  19. No rumors: V-wing and Interceptor are missing!
  20. I'm gonna wait for the sale: there will be too many in stock, the price will drop, and then I'll buy...maybe...
  21. I think the explaination goes w/ Ray being part of a the government wanting to control someone of this kind of power and military knowledge. In the past issues of GI Joe it has always been stated the government was working w/ cobra for financial gain (ex. the Jugglers). if war is constant then everyone is making money; cobra and the USA. The whole Idea of Hawk being apart of the Jugglers was to keep a watch on what these guys were planning. I love the twist, it makes the story interesting. BTW finaly nice to see you all talking about the comic...wouls like to see more of it.
  22. I can find G.I. Joe at the three largest toy retailers in the world, TRU, Wal Mart and Target, and watch its cartoon on a major tv network, Fox. not to mention there is a hoard pf new Joe product on tap for 2007. not sure how you can say there is nothing going on with G.I. Joe. Well then lets see more subjects on it in the threads. Example, a dedicated thread on the cartoon recaping the last episodes. How about talking about what exactly is being tapped for 2007. But heres the point that I brought up that NOBODY has addressed yet: the comic books! There was a dedicated thread on the comic issues and spoilers and such. Now that is gone. What happened? the comics have never been much of a conversation piece around here. Sigma 6 may very well be more popular here than the comic. Well maybe the fan base has changed....it's been a while since I've been here but I do remember the comics being a big thing. SO where are all of the fans here. the comics are still alive and I usually use this board to help me catch up on what I have missed. No Can Do Now
  23. I'll grab Zartan when I see him in the stores
  24. I can find G.I. 25. yep... it seems that there is nothing going on w/ GI Joe. What happned? here in this forum alone, no threads on up comming issues of the comics, nothing from Hasbro about new figures or a new line and what about this 30th anniversery line we have heard about? Nothing. No photo leaks no proto types and man, nothing from any conventions. So again I ask, what happened?????
