Flint:
Hey man, I totally feel you, and don't want you to think I was jumping your case, I was making a general statement. I remember you from the '04 con, you're a very cool guy. I understand where you're coming from. I was putting together a list for stuff as well, then had to move across the country, had no internet for 3 months and when I got it back again, had school full time, work full time, work part time, and work part time (yes, 1 full, 2 part time jobs!) which sucked. So instead of transitioning over to TNI like I was going to do a year ago, I stayed at Joesightings...
I think too, since you weren't there and are only reading what's on the boards it's easier to not be sure what tone someone is using. I know we have talked about some really cool things for the club and want it to be like the DOB club. Those guys don't focus on "this is my club, his club, their club" they just have a good time and that's all we want to do. So please don't feel left out, and if anything, give me a hollar sometime and I'll tell you how and why some things went down this year.
Greggory aka Adroq
and thanks for getting me your info so quick!

I asked about taking discover at the con, and they said right now the fees were too high...

Here are the minutes! Sorry for the delay, I got home and got some news that is definitely taking my life in a different turn.
This is going to be a long post...

Thanks! Now, on to what we covered at the meeting
CFB 2005
Thanks to everyone who attended the Annual meeting of the Crappy Figure Brigade. As a reminder this year’s “Dishonorable Discharge (formerly Inductee into the Hall of Shame) is Battle Corp Leatherneck, lovingly nicknamed “Leopard Pants Leatherneck.
This year it was also decided upon to include vehicles, so we introduce the “Decommissioned Junkyard. In order to catch up we nominated and then voted for four inductees. Nominees included Triple T Tank, Road Toad, Destro’s Dominator, & The Earthquake. For a full list of nominees, see the end of the newsletter. The four vehicles inducted, are the Cobra Pogo, Fort America, Ninja Lightning, and the Pile Driver.
After much discussion on several topics, the following were decided upon and need to be considered when nominating in future years.
· Figures and vehicles need to be at least 10 years old before they can be considered to vote on. Just because a mold is 20 years old does not mean we can consider a version of a character that has come out in the last year. We had a lot of discussion back and forth on this. Some felt that comic pack figures should be allowed because the molds are that old. However, the point of the CFB is to celebrate the 3 ¾ line much in the way the D.O.B. members celebrate their line. We felt that if we start including newer stuff it would be offensive to the Hasbro Design team, and that is NOT our purpose. We want to give Hasbro our full support and keep the line around as long as possible. If there is a recent figure or vehicle you feel should be nominated, wait the required amount of years and nominate it.
· Only single vehicles and figures can be nominated. You can’t nominate “the entire ninja force vehicle line as one nomination, but you can nominate and in turn vote on each one separately.
· Voting only occurs at the con, by those present. If you cannot attend the con, get your nomination into someone who is going, so they can nominate for you.
· While narrowing down the nominees, you can vote on as many as you like until the final voting round.
· It was suggested that we start using “Roberts Rules, where a member of the club nominates it and someone else has to second it.
· The official mascots of the CFB are our first two inductees; Crystal Ball and Golobulous.
Next year we would like each member attending the club to do some sort of Golobulous custom, much in the same way the 12ers do with all the Bulletman stuff. What we want to do is alternate between our two mascots each year. If possible, and you live close enough to another CFB member maybe even getting a dio entered would be fantastic.
I have a list of CFB members from this year’s con. I will dig through my computer and find last year’s to create a current master list. I will email it out to everyone shortly. If you notice any of your own information that is missing or incorrect, please email it back to me.
Here is a list of all the nominees for this year’s figure:
Deep Six v.1
Deep Six v. with “Finback the dolphin
Dog Fight
Cobra Commander v.4 (Red Face)
Ice Cream Soldier
Voltar
Bazooka v.3 (Fisherman Bazooka)
Robo Joe
Bulletproof
Payload
Cross Country v.2 (Redneck)
Skidmark
Darklon
Sneak Peak
Taurus
Big Brawler
Create A Cobra
Leatherneck v.3 (Leopard Pants)
It narrowed down to the following three:
Fisherman Bazooka
Redneck Cross Country
Leopard Pants Leatherneck
All losing nominees can be re-nominated next year.
Vehicle Nominees:
Battle Copters
Triple T Tank
Darklon’s Evader
Destro’s Dominator
Road Toad
Cobra Pogo
Buzz Boar
R.P.V.
Earthquake
Fort America
Apache
Liquidator
Ninja Lightning
Falcon Glider
Hammerhead
Battle Axe
Pile Driver
Septic Tank
Again, those vehicles not voted in this year are eligible for re-nomination next year.
The CFB was created at the 2004 convention after Brian Savage suggested in the club forum that the 3 ¾ collectors have a club similar to the 12 inch’s D.O.B. This club is not intended to slam, mock, or otherwise put down the Joe line, or offend other collectors. It is meant as a tongue in cheek way of celebrating some of the decisions made throughout the toy line that always made us wonder. CFB members love Joe and want to see the line prosper and continue for years to come.

I will def post the minutes tonight then when I get home from work, as they are on the laptop.
I was there at '04 too. I moved right after the con and life got exteremely hectic, otherwise I would have been on this board a lot more a year ago. As such, since I hung out more with TNI guys again this year (Card, Tazz, Cmdr and several others) I'll be spending a lot more time on this board.
I'm compliling last years mailing list with this one too so we can get a good master list made up.
Flint, we're not trying to upset anyone... the whole point of this thing is to everyone have a good time.
-
Does anyone remember if we voted on not saying LALALALALALA anymore? I guess we will wait until Adroq posts what we did.
It was decided (by people who did attend the '04 con) that LALALALA was indeed "banned". Anyone having issue with that needs to take it up with Cmdrinchief.
Should I post the minutes in this thread, or can we start a new CFB thread?
-
I actually have the minutes from this year's meeting almost typed up and will post them later this evening.
I'm also working on the masterlist for mailing everyone. Should have that done soon.
Zod, we decided on CB and Golob specifically as mascots since they are both incorporated into the logo and we didn't want to change the logo. That's why everyone else is "dishonorably discharged."
In this year's pic, I'm the guy in the Razorback hat.
-
Leopard Pants Leatherneck! I nominated him! Fianna74 and I were brainstorming and came up with him.
It was awesome seeing everyone there. Zod, you were missed.
I'm on my way to work, but hopefully this evening will be able to sit down and organize my notes from the meeting.
-
Well, at least Don made it front and center in this year's pic! Now we know he has 2 sexy arms!! lol.
As CFB secretary I'll be typing up all of the things discussed at this year's meeting, sending out an email to everyone who's email addy I have and also posting it here.
Just give me a couple of days to do it, since I just barely walked in my front door (houston) after driving from the Con (minneapolis) and am about to fall over.
You'll also start seeing me over here on a much more regular basis.
-
I will be there as well!
-
well, hopefully it's his way of a joke while he's updating stuff...

Is it sentinel, or another mod who is doing it? What is the deal over there lately?

Hey guys, I just finally read all nine pages of this thread... sorted through the non-important stuff and I'm finally all caught up! I sent out an email to some of the charter members who put their info in my notebook at the con. If there are any corrections that need to be made, or if you never got the email, please email me
adroq@comcast.net
and I will update the list. Please send me all of your info.
also, my aim sn is adroqhome if you use aim, please add me to your buddy list and send me a message so I can add you to mine.
I post mostly at joesightings.com I only joined this board for the CFB. Same goes for yojoe.com.
I'll be starting a trade list soon too. Please limit it to stuff you are looking for. I think putting together a list of what you have is unnecessary because if you see that item on someone else's want list, you can let them know you have it. It will keep the lists shorter this way. Email me your lists and I'll start compiling them. Include new stuff on there too, my walmart has some wave three packs sitting on the shelves.
Pretty much anything I had to say has already been said. I like the rules, I like the fun and sillyness this club will bring, with the right measure of seriousness when the time calls for it. I'm in the club because the group of us that started talking about it at the con were a lot of fun to hang out with.
This is about fun for me, plain and simple.
CFB for life!

Do the Dob members have name badges? That would be cool. I'll contact Buddy from Joelanta and also John Graves, who is in charge of the local chapter of the 12" club and get some ideas from them. Fianna 74 and I are going to be hooking up with the 12" club and meeting with them to try to build up the 3 3/4 collector community here in houston (TRANSLATE: CHAZZ, HOLLA BACK WHEN I TRY TO GET A HOLD OF YOU!!! lol) hopefully we can get some small CFB chapters going.
If next year's con is in Houston, we'll have a CFB BBQ at my house at some point (As long as my wife doesn't nix it in between now and then. We just figured out we'll have a 3 month old by next years con...)
I would totally pay for a shirt. I like the logo we have that Superfly designed with the CB shield and Golobulous eye patch.
Card: are we still doing the Golobulous Custom for next year?
