  1. Fianna 74 and I are going tomorrow.
  2. v3 first, then v2. '89 has always been my fav
  3. Eric, sorry to hear about the bad news. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless. Bekker, same to you. I hope everything turns out okay. My wife and I have had our own medical ups and downs to deal with this year, so while I don't know exactly what you guys are going through, I can relate to having to deal with tragedy. Good luck guys.
  4. I have a feeling that auction will go up a bit before it's over. I bought one complete with the box and blueprints, some figures and hard to find accessories for $325 (tax included) over the weekend. Stickers were in great shape and still glowed in the dark.
  5. I think that CFB is for 3 3/4" only, the equivalent for DOB. If there needs to be one for Sigma Six, then let that start up in 20 years later! lol.
  6. I didn't know that Takara had re-released the sky striker. The stickers on the tail fins are the same as the funskool version, hence my mistake.
  7. wow, that is a great looking plane! That's been on my want list for a long long time... thanks for sharing the pics! You also have a funskool skystriker too! Looks good sitting next to the real ones.
  8. It includes you letting me store your collection at my house! j/k. We ran out of waffle irons at this year's con... how about a travel steamer?
  9. actually, I was wondering the same thing as robo joe. It's a pretty strong accusation to throw out there.
  10. I doubt this is any "white lie" N.O. was something we heard at the con this year. Thing is, the location doesn't matter, I'm not going for the location, I'm going for the con. So I don't care where it is. People will complain no matter where it is. I'm sad for everyone in N.O. and sorry so many people lost so much. I don't think it would even be possible to have the con there next year. I doubt everything will be up and running by then.
  11. I sent mine in early june and it was sent back to me. The deadline was June 30th.
  12. yo joe show, I will get that stuff you asked for to you mid week. The last 10 days have been ultra crazy and it won't slow down until Wed evening. Ugly homer: Welcome to the site! hopefully you make it to next year's con so we can induct you as a full fledged CFB-er! And if you still need storage space... Card: would you mind please emailing me the CFB logo so I can put it in my signature like we talked about at the con? If you need to wait till things slow down that is totally cool, just reminding you like you asked me to at the con.
  13. or you could put them at my house! I have plenty of room, and promise to take VERY good care of them! lol.
  14. Actually Deep Six v 1 was nominated and voted on this year.
  15. Brian also mentioned at the con that he would like to get 3 cities and just continue to hop between them. It also has to be a city that's big enough, but not so big he can't get media exposure to help promote it. A GI JOE convention would be swallowed up in NY and the media really wouldn't care.
  16. wow! nice haul! I've been wanting a hammerhead forever! Was it off of Ebay?
  17. well someone always has issue with every figure that gets nominated. That's why you need to be at the con for the voting!
  18. a little P.S. blurb after a page of 3 3/4" and 12" news/info isn't exactly what I call "hot to shill". Of course he's gonna cross promote it makes perfect sense.
  19. yes, how do you get the email?

yeah, advertising that Blaylock is back doesn't not make me excited to get the book AT ALL. Cmdr: Blaylock was at the DD roundtable on Sunday morning when most of the people were gone. He was conspicuously absent from Saturday's round table. I've heard several complaints about Blaylock through the whole run. I think I fell into the category of being excited just because we had a Joe book again. But after going back and rereading the first 25 issues back to back to back I was scratching my head at a lot of stuff. Blaylock loves Joe, and I don't fault him for that. I think that any of us would jump at the chance to do our own GI Joe comic book. I think the cartoon references were trying to appease both crowds and I think he did the best he could... unfortunately more people than not seem to think the best he could ended up stinking pretty bad. I'm not defending him by any means, I for one am in the category of "Josh, your stories suck and you're ruining Joe comics. Stick to financing and CEO, but stay out of plot development." Hama would let things build over time, and take his time with plot points. Blaylock, once something was done, that was it. Why did the joes have to run all over Chicago to get the super bat? We don't know. It was never brought up again. Jerwa was better in my opinion, but so many of the comic readers had put the book down, fed up with things Josh had done that by the time Jerwa took over, it was too late. And don't get me started on his Red Shadows nonsense that he was so excited about. I'd also have to strongly disagree with the comment about Chuck Dixon. I for one was about to throw down reloaded once and for all, very disappointed in what it had become. I decided to give it one more issue, and that was Dixon's first issue. I was actually disappointed reloaded didn't continue BECAUSE of his writing. I looked forward to reading his stuff. I know a lot of people may and will disagree with what I've got to say and that's fine. I for one would be happy if DD lost the license and someone else got it. In my joe verse and the dio that Fianna and I are writing, Blaylock's universe NEVER existed. I wouldn't be surprised if ultimately the Joe comic goes bye bye. Look at all the other series DD has had that have disappeared.
  21. they also thought they'd have it all wrapped up within that two to three week time span. Yeah, I agree they could have put a "still working on it" message on the site, probably swamped though between trying to get NEXT years joe con together as well as THIS years bot con (coming up in a few weeks.) From what I hear the T-former collectors are bitchier and more prissy than we joe collectors are! They aren't happy about anything. I wouldn't want to be in Brian's shoes and frankly am willing to cut a little slack that we haven't heard where next year is yet.
  22. I'd have to agree with Card (Side note: Card, respond to my pm!) that they won't merge the cons. It will be a logistical nightmare and probably kill both cons. I wasn't disappointed with this years con at all. I think we'll hear next year's locale soon, some people will be glad, some people will bash people will still go and the cycle will start all over again. We'll anticipate the con set, start to hear and discuss rumours, see the advanced pics, those who love it will cheer, those who hate it will damn Brian and his children's children's children and before you know it, it will be con time again. And the CFB will live happily ever after. And not all 12" collectors are jerks. I met several who were incredibly nice and even talked about wanting to do more stuff with the 3 3/4" collectors.
  23. Nice job Luke! the pics look great! Can you post some more finished pics of the Joe base? I'm glad you are using Ghost Bear, I'm writing a story for a dio in which he gets used too. I always felt there was some potential if he's used right. Can't wait to read more!
