  1. It's funny, I've never considered the Skystriker to be fragile... It probably has more to do with size/cost and the fact that it was sent to Funskool, which ended up being the graveyard for many molds. Stupid India.

LOL! India, where molds and tools go to die.

Sure, I am all for these to be made! Whatever they make, I will buy. :)

  2. C'mon, it's fun to speculate... right?

    True. :)

    You're so wrong...

The best was obviously the MARS set! Iron Anvil = The coolest thing EVER! Night-Iron Grenadiers = The second coolest thing!

I've only got like 50 of each!

    -Kevin

Because you are a freak! ;) Besides, I said "quite possibly". Out of all the sets, I actually own two of the IG set.

Bucket of v1 Eels is what I'm hoping for.

I liked Tanks for the Memories for the Joes, really didn't like the Night Stalkers. (non fitting helmets, oversized weapons, constantly bent over). The Joes, though, were top notch. I have to agree with Kevin on the best set. Loved the MARS set. Hopefully they'll pump out a set that's equally as impressive this year. I don't know what molds they have left that we haven't seen in a while yet . . I'm really hoping though, that due to the resurgence of the brand, Hasbro will put the extra effort into finding molds that are "lost" or put in the money to make some new molds for the older characters. Who knows. I can't wait to get word on the set!

    Here's hoping for v1 Eels!!!!

(Pic of rare Ghetto Eels) @hmmm@

I don't think this is out of the realm of possibility based upon the hint Lanny gave us on the GIJCC forum a long long time ago (read = a few months after the ATL con).

My only prediction is that Master Collector will charge crazy high prices for the exclusives and like a lemming during mating season I will follow along and spend a metric butt ton of money......again. Every year I say I wont buy everything, or multiples of several things. And every year since San Fran I have bought way more then I will ever need...lol.

This is an 100% true prediction!! I wholeheatedly concur. This year I am bring the wife and I will have her pick up extras to deffer (sp??) costs of the trip and fund raisers for JOhio and the CFB.

I would like to see a sea theme as well. Eels V1 would be freakin sweet! I have not clue however what this years set will be. I have liked them all but the favorite one for me has to be the IG one. Perhaps they will have a Wild Bill in the set since the con is on Texas and he is a Texan? I would not mind a Night Force theme as well. Of coarse there is always hope for a Python Patrol set too. I thought that there was a huge possiblity that we were going to get a python patrol copper head as a parachute figure at last years con, but that as we all know did not happen. Hopefully the parachute figure will be back this year. The con is quickly approaching too.

Nice one Tazzz.....Python Patrol and a Wild Bill for Texas are good suggestions.....we did after all get a Gung-Ho in New Orleans didn't we....albeit a club store bought item, not in the set.

I can only dream. Good thoughts on that set.

I don't want to know what you dream about dude! @loll@

Anyway, like I said before, I guarantee, NO TANKS! @hmmm@

.....although, wouldn't it be something if they got their tooling problem solved and had them for sale in the club store.......

  3. I just don't get the whole facination of female character figures at this point. There are so many others I would like to see before the we start getting into the likes of Cover Girl, etc. Sure, we need the staples: Baroness, Scarlett, Lady Jaye (with or without the damn hat - that never mattered to me anyway too), but beyond that, I simply don't care. I will buy them if they are offered, but I want to see other characters first before I need another freaking Cover Girl....and yes, I am still sore from the Hasbro DDP "Fans Choice" set. That vote was rigged!! @lol@

  4. There is the Super Shuttle service from the airport. $30 for a round trip. I have not investigated it any further beyond just looking for pricing.....in other words, I don't know if the Super Shuttle will drop me off at the hotel. I don't know what is close by other than what they have on the hotel website. I thought there was a mall nearby. If the wifey wants to do anything, it will look like she will have to hike it or take a cab.

  5. I went with Colton....no real big reason......I think maybe only fans of the 12" line, fans of the comic and collectors would only appreciate the guy. Mainstream fans may have no freaking clue who he is.

We did learn at the con that in the voting that "got us" Doc, Billy finished only a couple of percentage points behind. Personally, I'd like them to go back and give us a Billy figure. I think that would work best since the number of people wanting Billy will be mostly collectors. I don't see the need to make Slaughter a mail-away. I think it will have no problem selling in the stores. As for Starduster, I appreciate him as a character, but I don't get the whole facination with him.

  6. Pish posh Gary! TRU.com had them up for Pre-order, to ship on 3/20/08, in the middle of January. :) I ordered my "minimal amount" then. So, I should have them the week after St. Patties day!

    -Kevin

True....you don't have a wife and kid to worry about so you naturally would have picked up on this sooner. :P

  7. toyrus.com has Wave 3 comic packs in stock. I just ordered the 3 I wanted and it came to $37ish after tax/shipping. No more driving around anymore!

    Thank you fellow Hoosier!!

BTW....what are you finding up in the Laf area?? PM me, I am only a half hour away or so.

I also noticed that TRU.com had the place holders for the Senior Ranking Command and Troop Builder sets.

  8. NEW! RADIATING SNAKE EYES PLAY SET!!!

    RadiatingSnakeEyes2.jpg

way too much time on my hands on a Sunday.

AdmiralHunter and I were wondering what other figure they would include with the Mass Device playset. I commented that it would be hilarious if they included a radiating snake eyes with glowing action . . . seriously, it was a joke. Then Hasbro blew me away. God bless them.

Nice one George.....thanks for the heads up. lol

  9. So, let's recap!!!

Comic Packs... 12 in total (I thought I read 15 somewhere).

    • Wave 1 = 3 Packs
    • Wave 2 = 2 Packs
    • Wave 3 = 4 Packs
    • Wave 4 = 3 Packs

We've seen pictures of all of these...

Vehicles... Unknown number. Looks like Vehicle packs.

    • Armadillo Tank w/ Steeler vs. Serpantor's Air Chariot w/ Serpantor
    • Ram w/ Breaker vs. trouble Bubble w/ Tele-Viper
    • Vamp w/ Clutch
    • Hiss w/ Rip It

    Entertainment Packs (Seen)

    • Mass Device
    • Weather Dominator

    Entertainment Packs (Unseen)

    • G.I.Joe the Movie
    • Arise Serpentor Arise
    • Pyramid of Darkness

Taking the BAF idea, it appears we can build ourselves a Mass Device buy purchasing all five of these bad boys.

Single Packs, 7 Waves, 40 figures...

    • Wave 1 '08 = 5 Figures
    • Wave 2 '08 = 3 Figures

    • Wave 4 '08 = 8 Figures

That's 21 figures so far, and we haven't seen Wave 5 '08 or later yet.

Did I miss anything? Exclusives not included.

A real bad time to be poor and a Joe fan. @lol@

  11. One word sums up the cast choice for Cobra Commander.....WHY??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!Joesph Gordon Levett as Cobra Commander?Yeah, what happened to Gary Oldman? This movie is going to tank.

Again with the broken records people... *points to the TF-threads pre-movie-release*

    -Kevin

Right....ya can't always get what ya want! :P

  12. I've never really understood why people want Hasbro to release another Terror Drome or Flagg. When it comes down to do it for the same amount of money it would probably cost you could get a near complete vintage one on ebay. $500 is $500.

You'd think this, but it is true, people just don't get it (and I don't mean this as a personal attack, but it is just a matter of fact)....but as Kev and George can attest to, EVERY YEAR there is SOMEONE at the con who asks this at the Hasbro Roundtable. And every year, the answer is the same. @lol@

....besides, I think some of the tools are lost or damaged, so they may not be able to piece togther a new one anyway.
