  1. I always love how Storm is never mentioned in threads like these. I'm not just saying this because she's my favorite character or anything. Her sculpt is damn near perfect.

ML8 Storm was a really good sculpt, but is flawed by her SUPER small head and torso....I really don't know how or why Toybiz made her like that.

I always read that complaint about her but really don't see it. Her head might be a little small but she's not terribly flawed. I don't mean to take away from your opinion but I think that sculpt is amazing. Storm's the figure that got me into ML.
  2. Oh all these will be redone again, but now with less paint washes and the NEW, and Improved ... Hasblow Six Sigma Joints!!! Watch 'em F$*!# it up big time! More molded plastic skin tone ala Namor and Lord Thor. In inconsistent scales too (i.e. teeny Silver Surfer, 7 foot She Hulk, Hulking Lord Thor). Tha'll be a blast!
Well technically scales have never been quite right in this line (remember that huge Bishop from ML 9 or 10) but I'll agree with everything else. I really don't want to see anything redone until Hasbro gets it's act together. There's no point in getting a new versions of figures if they're going to be terrible.
  3. Black Queen will not be rare at all, she will be more common at TRU stores than any other Marvel Legend. We have something like 40-50 Diamond Emmas and Silver Wolverines rotting on the pegs in my town, and they cost about 3 pounds @lol@
This is true. I went to my local Toys R Us today which I haven't been to in a while. They've totally gotten rid of their ML space except for the Diamond Emmas and Wolverines they just can't sell. I guess Black Queen is next.
  4. They can re-use old molds, which isn't my main concern. In the long run, the only thing I'm really worried about is pale or otherwise screwed up skin tones.
I agree. This has been a problem with a lot of their figures.
  5. What's sad is that Mary Jane is the only one I want from the whole series. :(

Not sad, i think several people feel that way. I know i am one of them.

I felt that way until I saw the SDCC pics. Ugliest ML style female ever. She makes Emma Frost look like a super model.
  6. well that least we can agree that they are using alot of TB bodies. I mean Northstar, Sunfire and Maybe Gambit are Bulleyes Base. which im my opinion is the best normal size male body. Also don't forget the that these are only proto types. in other word Aurora (forget Magneto) and Lilandra will get more POA .................eventually.

    ..And less paint @loll@ .

I wouldn't mind seeing this line-up in an X-men themed wave. Also, it's nice to see that they're at least thinking about releasing Northstar and Aurora.

  7. For me it's overall presentation (paint, sculpt, articulation) and then character. If a character I like gets an ugly figure then I won't buy it in most cases. On the otherhand, I've gotten ML's that I had no interest in as a character but still looked fantastic.

  8. Well if SE and Destro are indeed just repacks, this wave is going to be pretty lackluster. SJ and flash are nice but not that exciting. This leaves CG as the only "must get" figure for me .

  9. It will be the more sought after not because there is only 500 but because it is the best version...with that ugly face facing the back and not visible.
@loll@ You beat me to it, although I think the regular variant fixes the problem enough. Like the transparent face on Diamond Emma, this Marvel Girl's ugly features are hardly recogonizable.
  10. Granted, they're still utilizing some of ToyBiz's revolutionary articulation on a few of their offerings. However, by and large, we're seeing the line drift (construction-wise and appearance-wise) from a detailed-sculpted, highly-poseable, collector-oriented action-figure line toward a soft-sculpted, cartoonized, moderately-articulated, more Playskool-ish toyline.
You hit the nail on the head.
  11. Black Knight is okay. Collosus has a nice sculpt but is also a movie figure. Cap and Bucky are SO cartoony they look kind of cheesey. I get that they're supposed to look like the comics but this is just overkill. And then we come to Rachel. Poor Rachel. Why do they always have to ruin the X-figures? Like Emma, Banshee, and Quicksilver, I wanted her the most. Terrible face sculpt. Ugly Hasbro knees. All together way too cartoony. I suppose I should be happy they didn't mold her in that morbid flesh-colored plastic they used on the others, but then again they didn't attempt to give her any skin-tones either. And yes, her hair IS too red.

  12. While I respect your opinion I found Quicksilver to be the most disappointing figure of the wave mainly due the almost complete lack of paint app's. The uniform is really bland and the ugly flesh-toned plastic makes him look like a corpse imo.
