  1. I wouldn't worry too much about the g.i.joe pack. It seems that they produced enough. As for the faker, if I was you I would take a chance and send the form. It might work if they still have some left. Check the expiration date though.
  2. 8) Don't worry guys!!!! They still have plenty of sets. I e-mailed them couple of weeks ago because I still hadn't received them, he said mine were on their way, and got them that same week. Even my Fakers!!!!. I wouldn't hesitate and send them an e-mail though. I think this is the e-mail: customerservice@wizarduniverse.com Don't forget to give them your order number, that way they'll get back to you a lot sooner.
  3. Thanx man. Yeah, every time I talk about it I just get mad. Bad quality was what led to the demise the first time, and it seems that nowdays it's becoming sooner. I remember when I got the patriot, oh man! what a cheap and horrible vehicle. And the cobra rat, hollow vehicles at their best!!!! little I knew that even back then they were already cutting the budget for the small joes because they were already planning on coming back with the 12'' line. That's why they reintroduced it with ''ARAH'' characters and later totally cancell it. Today, the small line has such a limited budget that in my opinion they shouldn't even bother on making larger vehicles. Only small ones packed with a single figure would be ideal. Fix the figures and exploit the "ARAH'' the right way. We know some of the characters have the potential to be right up there with the daredevils, wolverines and so on, it's just the unwillingness of Hasbro that prevents such thing. Well, at least we have lanard(who would've thought?) and chap mei cranking out cool vehicles. Let's just have a company that manufactures vehicles for joes, not Hasbro!!!!!!
  4. Dude, you'll be surprised if you find out who's designing most of the crappy vehicles nowdays. I talked to one of Hasbro's reps at the San Diego comic con last year, and he opened his mouth a little too much. He said that him and other fellow employee were the main designers of the non o-ring figures. He also said that he had contributed with the design of the new fang, the quad, and the sand razor(pretty much the ugly ones).......Anyways I was talking to him about how I got into g.i.joe, and ask him if they were to re-make some figures, and I swear half of the time he didn't know crap. He looked like he was just there for the money. That's probably where it all falls down to, they just don't have the passion, and could't care less about our small fellas.
  5. Check this badass Warthog that's supposed to be released later this year. I think it's for the XD line. Anyone planning on buying one? Here's the link: http://pub28.ezboard.com/fgroundpoundersfr...icID=3743.topic HASBRO: DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. While it might be good news for some people, for others this will suck!!!! (on the format, of course!) David T. from quickkicktheater informed on this: "Reel FX recently added the third floor of a four-story historic building in downtown Dallas. Reel FX now occupies the first three floors, bringing the studio's total square footage to 12,500. The addition is being used to house a growing animation team that is currently in production on a 44-minute CG G.I. Joe movie that is scheduled for release in May 2003." What do you guys think?.......I'll go for regular cell cartoons and not cg's Hasbro should instead be developing better toys(vehicles mainly)
  7. [/u][/quoteYou get your Chap Mei tank yet..? ] I haven't gotten it yet  I just contacted Andrew and he says he'll be shipping it soon, probably by now can't wait man, that thing is sweet. Have you gotten it yet? Also, do you own one of those corps tanks? those are pretty good too, Ideal for customizing. As far as other Chap Mei stuff here in So. Cal, nothing!!!....everything is gone. Rite Aid put everything 50% off for Christmas and nothing is left. I just hope Chap mei likes to reissue their vehicles with different color schemes. Hey, thanx for the ice rats, just let me know how much it'll be.
  8. Hey VH, I would really think about it twice too. I had the opportunity of buying it two hours ago while checking out a brand new Walmart here in L.A. (the only in L.A. I must add) tell you the truth, If I was you, I'll stay away from it. Looks too damn big for the figures. It seems perfect in scale and design for the spiderman and x-man figures, but not for joes. Not to mention the wheels, rims kinda go with the whole "low profile" style commonly used on the streets, not on a jeep!!!! p.s. What happened to my ice rats(repaints)?.....I still want them bro.
  9. I noticed on the latest marvel tpb (vol. 5) at the end where it usually gives you the breakdown for the next volume that it didn't have anything. Plus, it just doesn't appear on the upcoming release dates on neither diamond comics nor Sgtsavage.com where I usually check. It'll suck if they stop releasing them, eventhough I have the originals it's kinda cool to have them like that too. Also for people who never had the chance tho snap the original ones. Oh well, does anyone know if we'll ever see a volume 6?
  10. It might be old news for some of you, but for the ones that ignore it, just go to sgtsavage.com and read it yourself: Hasbro has decided to go against going to the 2003 toy fair in New York!!!!!.....I guess they don't have a lot of things ready to show, or maybe they have something up their sleeves and won't show it until spring. Is this good or bad? I think hasbro needs to wake up and realize that the line could loose its momentum, but at the same time to not come up with rushed projects.
  11. @*- I think the toy looks cool, and we all know we can get rid of the sound attack sh*t if we want. Everything looks cool, and I hope they keep the cool logo on the vehicle and not feature the head logo on it. The packaging: HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! look at the artwork, looks like it was done by a five year old!!!!!........oh well, I know they rushed it and at least I should be happy we are getting old vehicles instead of the new monstrosities!!!!!!
  12. I really doubt that Hasbro gives a crap about the vehicles. They'll probably release a couple good ones and the rest are going to be crap. This guy from Hasbro I met over at the San Diego comic con, told me that it wasn't a big priority(vehicles) and the biggest vehicle we were gonna see for a long time was the night attack chopper. And now that I think about it, it's true because look at the friggin' tonka toys they are labeling as g.i.joe, they are just inferior. It really shows their effort, right? Early next year we get a repaint of the night attack chopper in desert camo. And "maybe" another mobat repaint!!!!???? as a TRU exclusive. Just imagine how some of us feel about having those so called ''vehicles" as part of the cool brand that is ARAH. Because that's what it is, even if some people call it the GVC line. Isn't it based on old characters?.....well, like I was saying to top it off, we get that horrid logo slapped all over the new tonkas!!!!!!!! Not very appealing overall, except for the clutch figure!!!!!
  13. :x As far as the spy troops line goes, we all know 2003 will be spy troops year. I asked Derryl and he responded "yes, and no" when I asked him if spy... was going to be the main theme. He said that tiger force and python patrol were going to be out, but limited to the TRU deal. And I gotta thank him for that, 'cause if it wasn't for him, we'll stuck with the "spy troops" deal only. About the line, I really think that's a double edged sword because even if the sculpts are killer, we still want a better stormy, right? how about lady jaye? and to tell you the truth, I would "mind" having those spy gimmick accesories instead of weapons that are exclusive for the figures. I really think that Hasbro decided to go ahead with this line too soon. They should've waited longer and fix those glitches that still plague the line today. The production of vehicles I hope will be lower 'cause if they are going to release vehicles like the ones we've seen for wave 5, then we are doomed. They totally lack the sharpness we come to expect from hasbro. They look like they belong to the "motorized" line and not the "a real american hero" brand. Even the most devoted hasbro supporter knows, those are some of the most inferior vehicles Hasbro has ever done, and we thought the "neon age" was bad. This age will be called the "tonkameetsplayskool"age. The new logo, at least all throughout 2003 will be with us. I really think that even if sales go down, which I would understand, is very doubtful that they would go back to the original "ARAH" logo. It wasn't Derryl's decision, so at least we know it was those "suit" people again making decisions that really aren't very helpful. HOPEFULLY they decide to at least have the real logo on the vehicles. Well, we'll just have to wait, hopefully this will not cause to line to drown once again!!!! I hope not. 666viper.
  14. TransformHead on wrote: (I don't think anyone is trying to put down the classic MOTU (hell, I LOVE it and bought every reissue!!), but rather compliment it. We're saying, "Look, Hasbro! If Mattel can revamp their signature action figure line and bring the old-school fans AND the kids into it, why can't you? What are you doing wrong? How can you fix that? Do you even WANT to? Do you even think that your line NEEDS fixing?" If that's not a great compliment to MOTU as a whole, I don't know what is. The new line would not be nearly the success without the passion and dedication of old-school MOTU fans both within Mattel and within the consumer fanbase. But you gotta admit though, that the sculpting and detail is miles beyond what they could do with the old MOTU. Not necessarily in the quality, like good, bad, etc. which is subjective, since there are some thing I prefer in the old line, (but not practically everything, as with Joe) but the intricacy of the new MOTU is so much better done. That's not putting the old MOTU down, they just couldn't affordably do it!! And the other important thing to note is that the new MOTU is not meant at all to "blend" with the old MOTU line, whereas Hasbro has that line drawn a little bit more blurry. And like you point out, the Four Horsemen and Mattel have obviously put TONS of time and dedication into the line, and are verrrrry careful not to offend the lifetime fans---aka the people who, if they aren't buying for themselves, WILL buy it for their children, nephews, friends, based SOLELY upon the positive memories they have associated with a certain franchise. (Why else would Faker be a Toyfare exclusive, and more importantly, why would he include the robot sticker, if not to appease the fans?) They also have frequent polls, fan included interview and chat sessions, etc. over at He-man.org, which is something that, if Hasbro ever does, I will drop dead from shock. With the Four Horsemen and the MOTU line, you have accountability. You know who they are, and you know exactly what they do on the MOTU line (each one is sort of "assigned" different aspects of the character, almost in the way that an animated film is done) and if you don't like something, you can go directly to their website, e-mail them directly, (NOT going through a bloated corporate entity like Mattel, who by the way, have better things to do than answer fanboy e-mails) and say, "Hey, what's up with so-and-so?" and although I haven't written them (don't really have questions that haven't been answered) I bet you would get a response directly from one of the 4H themselves! Does that relationship and system of accountability exist within Hasbro and the Joe design team? Nope. It's as if Hasbro is trying to hide from us or something. Sorry to turn this into more of a MOTU topic here, but I think it's worthwhile to compare the two lines, and even though both lines are operating on the same concept (update a legendary, wildly popular and innovative 80's toyline for the 21st century for kids and collectors alike) you can see them as one type of revamp that is viewed as successful pretty much across the board, and another that has garnered mixed reactions at best. Have you guys seen the new MOTU's Teela yet?? Now that's how you make a female action figure, Hasbro! Break out your charcoal pencils and your kneaded erasers, Hasbro, 'cause it should be back to the drawing board wit'cha'!!!!) Couldn't have said it any better myself!!!!! -HASBRO, DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. - TransformHeadon and Doc evil mentioned two very interesting points. -That's totally true, Mattel pulled it off and have their costumers really happy with the new MOTU line. I love it too, but one thing that we have to take in consideration is that Mattel hired real pros to design the figures. They put so much effort into the line that it paid off. Good looking toys, exellent packaging and immaculate quality. Can Hasbro do the same?.....Sure they can......Do they want to do it?....I really doubt it. And it doesn't really matter how much "insiders" kiss Hasbro's ass, they know Hasbro is releasing an inferior product, not to our standards, but theirs!!!! I'm so friggin' glad that there are people who understand us, the real fans, consumers. You know who you are!!!!!!!
  16. At this point I would say: Everything but the logo!!!!!!!!!!!! That new logo is just wrong!!!!!!!!!.....End of story.
  17. ''Sgt. Savage was a good Idea" -Absolutely, but badly executed. It totally had the potential as long as it would of being kept to the 3 3/4" size. Good story line without violating the ARAH story, and still having possibilities of both lines existing at the same time. But no, Hasbro pulled the plug after disappointing sales, why? they looked slopy and vehicles to small for them(remember the warhawk, cool plane!!!!) and I guess people didn't care for them. Next, came EXTREME, atrocious sculps and superhero-like looks. NOBODY cared about, don't know if it had potential, it was too disturbing for me to like it. I own most of the episodes, toys, and comics(call that a completist!!!!)and up to this day, I still don't get it. It's true, some of the characters look and sound like some of the ones we are getting now(c.l.a.w.s, anyone?) It's really strange how Hasbro shows potential and then, they just screw it. This relaunched line jvc(which still is by any standards "ARAH''continuation) has tons of potential and some stinkers that could be fixed if Hasbro was to really listen to its costumers. And stop making asumptions of "what's in" or ''out'' and stick to something that satisfies and also makes them profit. Anyways, I really think they'll find out that the horrid logo they chose to go with will turn more people off, than the people they try to get to buy them. And that the excuse they give about big retailers of asking them to universify the logo is just an excuse for them to cash in with the tremendous momentum that the line possesses now!!!!! God damm........I'm pissed!!!!!!
  18." Aww man... this thread is really depressing... " Indeed. Anyways, I certainly think that hasbro is making way too many mistakes right now, and is not totally healthy for the line itself. I know that today, it is so much harder for a line that was huge in the eighties and became non existent during the mid nineties, to be relevant without having nostalgia as the major factor. I've said it before, and received a lot of sh*t for saying it: Hasbro needs to listen to the people who were there since the beginning(talking about the ARAH line of course)and stop assuming "kids like this" "kids like that". Researches are done where? As far as I know, the kids who buy most of the toys are around my age or older, I'm 25, and if Hasbro talks about this kind of kids, then they are wrong. Like someone else mentioned before, older people buy stuff for their kids. I don't have any kids, but I'd bought stuff for little cousins and nephews, but for me I buy two or three of the same, which I plan not on doing the same if things don't change. Please get rid of that logo, PLEASE HASBRO, the lines are different. Don't mess with the history and legacy of the ARAH line, if you want a unified line, disregard the history of the characters, and release nameles figures, how's that?
  19. Hey Tom-1, I guess you are right, I feel better now that I vented all my anger towards Hasbro. I even called my girlfriend telling her how f***d up those new vehicles look, by the way she just bought me my third NA chopper!!!!. Anyways, I hope we would get together, write a petition to Hasbro regarding that ##$%$#ed logo, and about their vehicle designers!!! Dude, I talked to one of the Hasbro guys in San Diego this past August, and he told me some guy from General Motors, a designer wanted to colaborate on designing new vehicles, he was a fan from the 80's series. How cool would've that been righ? Well apparently, they are still using the same people. I know the have Draxhall designing for them most figures, and I would say they are cool, but the main problem right now are the packaging, logo, and vehicle issues. lates.
  20. I totally have mixed feelings towards this upcoming wave. First, I hate that gimmick, I know it's just fantasy, but who are they trying to fool? tunnel rat dressed up as who? I know he has cobra logos, but which particular cobra is he trying to look like? The same for cobra, what kind of joes are they trying to look like. As far as I know, the joes would easily recognize one of their members unless we are talking about zartan, and his holographic camouflage. The logo: That's just horrible, can't believe they are actually putting those on the actual toys. Atrocious!!!!!! The vehicles: The only decent one is the cobra bike, the rest are utterly crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very oval like, and out of touch with reality(not that we need it, but what they are trying to achieve, just fails miserably) The figures: They look cool without the crappy armor. That's the only good thing I would say about this wave, besides the glidders. I'm totally pissed and I thought I would never say this, but I think that hasbro is throwing the line down the toilet!!!!!
  21. 8) Hey guys, they should get Andrew Wildman to do the pencils. IMO he's the best artist that graced the old marvel series. He was true to the characters, everyone looked like themselves and most important: he was really sharp and precise on perspectives and scales, not to mention his amazing covers!!!!. Check out his work, I believe he started around issues 109 or something all the way up to like issues 120's. And one more thing:make the friggin stories longer. Half of it are ads and sh*t!!!!!!!!
  22. ^*^ Hey viper hunter, you think that guy can give us an explanation about those crappy boxes they are using now? the inferior artwork? as far as I know, it cost the same to do the first wave box artwork, but look at the chopper's artwork, one of the worst ever!!!!!! not to mention those fragile boxes that once broken, nobody wants to buy. I personally wouldn't want to buy one that's beaten up, and that's why I've passed up on buying a second one because the ones left at my local stores are all jacked up!!! Seriously, do you think that the big 3 chain stores have anything to do with this, I surely don't. And that's where Hasbro is making a huge mistake, because lots of people get turned off by those ''little'' details that once added up, become more serious issues. P.S. If they are to go with the logo change How about replacing that old dude soldier with Snake eyes, Duke or even a cobra head. What do you think?
  23. Someone mentioned earlier that the only thing that matters are the figures. Yes, that's true, but with that comes the identity of the figure, presentation, etc... and to be precise, presentation is something the whole line is lacking of. Remember the toys that came out before the comeback of the small joes. Those that were similar in scale to the small ones, but came with the old logo and looked like tonka offsprings? well, the way they were packed totally reminds me of the way they want the JVC line to look like. Open boxes, asking to be abused, and a very dated looking logo, minimal artwork, for cutting costs purposes of course and tons of electronic gimmicks. Don't get me wrong, some of the stuff they are doing now just rocks, but some of the people working for the line don't need to be there, seriously.
  24. How many of you like the current logo, or I should say, do you guys like the eighties ''a real american hero'' logo? yes?, no? well hasbro already dropped the bomb on us and I believe that future waves will now feature the new updated logo. What the new logo consists of is the sixties logo with the stripes of the jvc line. Personally I hate it, why? because it is something that just doesn't belong with the line. It isn't all true what people say that the current jvc line has nothing to do with the ''ARAH'' line, well that's not true, look at the characters. We have storm shadow , duke , snake eyes and so on, so that totally links the current line to the old one. We are no fools, and we know that the reason why they are doing this, is to link the small joes to the classic 12'' ones, and it's just a marketing tool that I'm pretty sure will alienate longtime fans of the ARAH line, or the JVC line for that matter. Just imagine if they decide the change the cobra logo for something more PC, kinda what they did to the toys changing ''the ruthless terrorist organization'' to ''an evil organization'' I could go on and on about things that just make me go and talk to the hasbro people and tell them that before money, comes quality, and respect for its customers, but I just hope they realize this is a bad move, just like the idea of putting the toys exposed on those new packaging techniques. Well, what do you guys think?
