"As this item was being sold for crazy $$$ on ebay, fans and collectors will not want to miss picking this item up for ONLY $18 domestic/member pricing!" Except once this thing becomes readily available from all these club members picking it up, the prices are sure to drop. Simple supply and demand. And in a year or two, people will be unloading these at right around what they paid. This is one of the weakest 'exclusives' in some time.

Where are you deployed at? COP Garcia, Afghanistan. "The Best Little COP in all of Afghanistan." We actually have a sign that says that once you step off the LZ.

Technically, anytime I post for this year, I'm at work since I'm deployed. But, yeah, during work hours you'll see that's when I'm most active. The only thing about that is that the time difference means I'm usually posting when everyone is asleep. It's 2 AM here right now and I can't sleep, otherwise I'd be waiting a few more hours to start most of my posting.

Ray Stevenson Cast As 'Firefly' In 'G.I. Joe 2'
Crimson Twins replied to The Wire's topic in G.I. Joe
One thing that worries me is the whole 'ninja master' part of his write up. I could see them pushing this ninja thing too far, just like the toyline and comics did. -
Overstay his welcome? @loll@

Reminds me of every other day out here. No biggie.

Isn't the Stalker a repaint of the Resolute one though? And the Hazard Viper is a repaint of the Volcano Viper that saw limited release as a Target exclusive at ROSS stores. Guess they're new to mass retail.

I recently acquired this whole series and it was just plain hard to watch. I was able to force my way through the Dragonfire storyline, but the rest was really so poorly done it hurt my eyes. It made the Sunbow seem dark and gritty which is funny if you know those episodes well.

Wow... just love that first assortment . Six figures and only two of them are actually new. Which two are the new ones? I've seen pretty much all of those somewhere else before. The Viper seems tooled differently enough to be considered 'new', but it's still just a Viper.

agreed, we collectors need to get smarter, or they will keep pulling the wool over our eyes. The drone is decent as far as drones or missle launchers go, but to pay that much for an accessory? The evil part of my brain is hoping that the club loses their shirts over this figure for this very reason. They are not going to lose their shirts...these were going for $150+ on ebay. The collecting commmunity is full of speculators, and people will snatch up 2 or 3 of these horrid things thinking they will be like roddy piper, sergeant slaughter or PDD down the line. The difference between this exclusive and those that you mentioned is that you can still get this figure anywhere. The same can not be said of the others. The only thing you're getting is the HISS launcher which I doubt there is a truly high demand for. So you can't really compare this to the likes of SDCC exclusives of characters you can't get at retail. And anyone that buys up 2 or 3 of these for that purpose is setting themselves up for failure.

Didn't know Kama was that scarce when I got mine. There were several more on the racks back then, and they were on a special 50% off clearance. Becuase of the number I saw, I didn't think they were scarce and passed on picking more up. Wish I could have picked them up for you guys back then.

My "money saving" summer isn't going as planned
Crimson Twins replied to yojoebro82's topic in General Discussion
So, I figured that being deployed I would be able to save money by not being able to go to stores and buy my toys. If only it were that easy. Too many sites make it so easy to buy online. And some even send stuff out here. I think one problem I'm going to run into is that a lot of the figures I want, I can't find as singles. I'd have to buy a case to get them. And honestly, I don't want a case. I'm picky about getting exactly what I want, and not extra junk I don't want or need. Now, I'm going to be stuck trying to get these from people in trades, or buying them later on at inflated prices. @grumpy@ Either way I look at it, I'm not going to save money. -
I think this might be the case. The #7 is also missing, so maybe this was just a messed up print. I did a search of brain teasers involving DOM, and almost always came back to the domino one. Really not sure what else it could be. I don't think the font is important. There doesn't seem to be a consistent font used throughout, so it might just randomly came up that way. Who knows.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson In Talks For G.I.Joe: Cobra Strikes
Crimson Twins replied to wolverine2281's topic in G.I. Joe
It's weird that there hasn't been much buzz about it in the main stream since Rock confirmed his spot in GI Joe. Probably more of the media hating on a military movie. -
These are the only Marvel figures I will go after. I've never been a big fan of ML. I tried with the Galactus BAF wave. I bought every one of them. Put Galactus together. Tried displaying them, but they didn't go with anything else I collect. So, a few weeks later, I was over my ML phase and sold the whole set with Galactus for about what I paid for them and never looked back. I'm really only looking for the BAFs now as most of them are more in scale with MU than ML. Nothing against ML if that's your cup of tea, it's just not for me. I love being able to display my MU with my Joes. I've done a battle scene before with tons of BATs getting beat down by Joes and MU combined. That was one of the most fun times I've had. And I love the fact that MU can interact or use vehicles done in 3 3/4 scale. Nothing like having Joes in a Humvee chasing down the Hulk.

G.I.Joe Snake Eyes and Timber Statue From Sideshow Preview
Crimson Twins replied to The Wire's topic in G.I. Joe
Not bad. I just don't like statues. I complain enough as it is when my figures don't have enough articulation. -
Sadly, I haven't seen any of these either. Of course, we don't have a Wal-Mart within a few thousand miles. @loll@

He should buy them and change the name to the Chicago Cubans. Although that might get the wrong response.

A little bit of NBA trivia for you guys out there. Being a Heat fan, I did a little bit of research, and found an interesting fact. Of the first 10 players drafted in the 1992 NBA Draft, 8 of the players eventually ended up on the Miami Heat roster. Anyone care to try and figure out who the two that didn't make the list were? I'll give you a hint: It's not Shaq. @smilepunch@

The promo poster is boring. Nothing awe inspiring or fantastic going on in it, so what did you expect? As far as any comments about what fans would HOPE to see or not see and so on....who cares? There will be toys regardless, so I don't see all the angst you're expressing here, about fan gripes and complaints (aka b!tching)? Isn't that par for the course after 10 years of it? Ah, VH, good to see you didn't go the way of the ARROW. Where'd ARROW go? There's a whole post about it in General Discussion.
